  3. I am on day 4 of two protein shakes and a lean and green dinner and I am down 6.4lbs. Only 11 days to go and I will officially be a sleevie!!! Yippee!!!!! Btw, found a new protein drink today and it's awesome. Its called Premier Protein and you buy it premade from wholesale stores like Sams or Costco!! They have no aftertaste like some I have tried. Message me if your surgery date is around the 20th so I have some buddies to lose with!! Good luck to everyone!!!
  4. My surgery is scheduled for the 20th in Las Vegas so I have been on the preop diet since the 6th and have dropped 6lbs. I think the weight loss each morning makes it easier for me to stick to the diet throughout the day. I am super excited but also pretty nervous!! Good luck to everybody!!!
  5. Congrats on your date!!! Isn't it exciting?? I'm am being sleeved on the 20th so yesterday was my first liquid diet day. I will have to say it wasn't that bad! Good luck to you and keep us informed!
  6. Precious Cargo - my surgery is also the twentieth so I started my liquid diet today. I found that for today at least it helped me to drink beef or chicken broth in between my protein shakes. That at least made the hunger bearable. Good luck and stick with it!!
  7. Just wanted to get some opinions on this topic.... I made the decision to tell all of my friends and family as well as coworkers that I was having the sleeve done (01/20/12). I think that for me it will give me a huge support group as well as a lot more accountability. What are your thoughts and reasons behind them? Kacy
  8. Thank you all for the encouraging words! I know that I can do this! I have never failed at anything that I have set my mind to and committed myself to. I finished school and got my degree while both the hubby and I were working full time and had two kids as well as I have been quit smoking for a month now. So I know that if i commit to it, I can do it. Catracks -thank you for the advice on the broths, I will certainly start keeping track of the ones I like best. How are you doing on the weight loss? When was your surgery? I haven't obtained a goal from my surgeon yet, the 135 was what I set myself. Like you, I too know my body frame and would look plain funny at 110. Good luck to all of you! I will update again soon and let you know how it's going!!
  9. Tomorrow begins my Gastric Sleeve journey as I embark on what is expected to be a miserable two week preop diet. My surgery is scheduled for 01/20/2012 with Dr Thomas Umbach in Las Vegas! I am a southern girl from Alabama so I will be traveling cross country to have this done. I am so excited but also very nervous!!! My pre-preop weight is 243 and I would like to be down to 180 by my 30th birthday in May and then ultimately down to 135 as I am only 5'1". Any advice on getting thru the next two weeks would be most helpful!! Thank you all!!!!
