Approved Last Frday and now FEAR of Failure moving in -HELP
your anxiety is normal. 100 percent of the people that have went through this process have had some type of anxiety. this is not a minor life change and the hardest part for most of us is dealing with the mental portion of WHY we eat and what triggers us to eat. most of us are emotional eaters.your gonna need to deal with your emotional eating before you have surgery. after surgery you will not be physically hungry but you will have something called head hunger. head hunger can drive you crazy if you dont come to terms with your emotional eating. I have lost about 220 pounds and still have some to go. you will reach your goal, im not sayings its easy but it is possible. Stay strong and stay positive.

Ya feel me?
I wouldn't want anyone who has not tried to diet to have this surgery. 1 thing that we all have in common is that we all have tried and failed at dieting. Dieting does not work for everyone. in a perfect world we all just could diet and lose all of our weight, but like most people on here our weight is constantly yo-yoing . Over the last 15 months ive seen something happen that i have never seen, i saw my weight go down and not go back up. Ive almost lost 230 pounds and its still coming off. we all had our doubts about surgery, but i will say that this is the best decision of my life.

Are There Any Single Sleevers Out There..
I am writing to report that I am no longer single. Not sure if its because of the weight loss or the Multiple changes that have happened over the last 2 years. The weight loss journey has taught me so much about myself that it makes me a better man and a better partner. I must say that i am truly happy with my girl, we have a deep understanding of each other and she had no problem with my surgery or me having multiple sclerosis . Its nice to find a person who respects and loves me entirely. To all the single sleevers i just want to say that there is hope and you all will find the right person. Somebody should make a group for people in new relationships for advice giving, just a thought.

have any one regret getting sleeve
Im 15 months post op and down 226 pounds. My ONLY regret is that i did not get it done sooner. I can eat normal food now just not as much. This last year was the only time in my life that i had to buy new clothes because my old clothes are to big. Fist time i have seen the number on the scale go down and not go back up.First time that i feel that i am not just existing but actually living. It has been a hard road but i would not change anything that has happend. Good luck and stay positive. PM me if u have any questions.

Not worth it.
The Funny thing about the internet is that anyone can post anything. there are some negative threads and negative people on VST but that is the same with any online community. As an educated adult you have to learn how to sift through the BS and keep moving forward. Dont label this website as being negative because there are many people that have had great experiences on this forum. I have seen some horrible post, that have been demeaning, racist, sexist ect.. but i put those post into context. you cant blame VST for being an open forum. The true blame must got to the ignorant posters.

Hey guys im 6 days in
early on its hard to know if you are really hungry. a lot of us battle " head hunger" early on . this will go away soon. im a over a year post op and i have to remind myself to eat. i really dont get " hungry" like i used to.

can I puree Chili with ground beef or
Early after surgery beef can be a little rough. try ground turkey, its easier to digest and has the same taste.

No bowel since surgery.. what should i do?
if you are only getting 30 oz of water a day than you are definitely dehydrated. are you having trouble with getting water down ? a sure sign on dehydration is dark urine, and muscle spasm/ tightness

No bowel since surgery.. what should i do?
Constipation after surgery is common. I would suggest using Milk of Magnesia to get your bowels moving. increase your fluid intake as much as you can. dehydration can cause constipation.

Support help, some members found out =(
When people say " its the easy way out" ask them if they know that you will not eat solid foods for about 6-8 weeks and possibly longer if your doctor requires a pre-surgery 2 week modified liquid diet. Could they go without a solid food for 2 months ? most people cant and wont . The easy way out if doing nothing about your health issue. think about it , the one thing you never see is a morbidly obese 70 year old. There is no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed about taking control of your health. I have lost 210 pounds and this surgery has SAVED my life.People that make stupid comments about something they know nothing about cannot be helped. I guess the statement is true " ignorance is bliss". Stay strong and stay positive smallbird.

No alcohol ever?
I am 13 months post op. i haven't heard anything like this about drinking alcohol. I will say that when i drink now it takes a lot less to get me where i wanna go if you know what i mean. Liquor hits you a quicker but it tends to burn off quicker also. after doing some quick googling it looks like alcohol can cause Alcoholism-induced bone necrosis. but it seems what you would have to be a alcoholic for several years before this set in. a few drinks from time to time shouldn't hurt you. hopefully this helps.
