Its My 4Th Week Since Surgery And Feeling Hungry !
I know every doctor is different. My doctor willnt allow rice, bread and any flour products until the six month. He states it will get stuck and you will be miserable for hours. Honestly, I don't think our stomach is healed enough for rice, my opinion. I can barely get an oz of food in and I am 4.5 weeks post op. If you are hungry my doctor prescribed a medication to relieve the hungar pains which he described as not really being hungar. Good luck... egg drop soup would be a good choice.

I Am A Failure
Honestly, we all make mistakes. I am glad you are being honest with your addiction and are seeking help. I had to go to two months of counseling before being approved for my surgery. I have also made some wrong choices with my sleeve like having that extra bite or drinking a low fat choc milk instead of sugar free, it was a honest mistake. However, there were consequences such as vomiting. Everyday, I struggle with food, head hungar. But I am learning my limitations that the sleeve is providing. Two suggestions that I have read that are helpful, eat/drink protein throughout the day (keeps you full) and seek counseling. Remember the reasons you had your surgery. The sleeve does help but we also have to put some work into it. Good luck... PS maybe you should seek employment away from food, ah the temptations lol

I Bought A Bike
Yes, I bought a new bike that I can comfortably ride. I am so proud that my weight loss has allowed me to engage in a activity I use to throughly enjoy. When I was at my highest weight I couldnt comfortably ride a bike and was embarassed by my weight. Friday I was one month post op and decided I needed to start exercising. Having heel spurs causes me great difficulty walking. However, I was advised that with continual weight loss this will improve. Last nite I rode for 20 mins and have no soreness today. I know bicycling will require me to at least ride an hour before I begin burning calories. I am just so excited I can enjoy riding again and with my 11 yr old son.

Pre Op Diet-What To Expect-Going To Dr. David Kim
Instead of the 140 mile round trip drive, inquire at your doctor's office if you could complete your supervised diet there. The insurance process is a long one (it tried my patient) be patient and embrace all the knowledge you can read about such as these dicussion posts and attend seminars. I was required to go to counseling before my insurance would ok my surgery, which lasted two months, because the psych evaluation indicted I was an emotional eater "duh" Dont have to much high expectations moving fast when it cames to your insurance, they are a bear to deal with it. However, now I see it was worth everything I was required to fulfill and even the difficulties I have encountered. When I see my weight loss I know I could never do it without the sleeve.

For Those Who Are Blessed With No Hunger
I do feel hungry. I think it is hungry. The doctor gave me some medicine to help. I do have to agree though it is a different hungry. More managable and easy to tolerate. Maybe it is my body's way telling me that it is time to refuel my body. I also have to agree it is more enjoyable when I do experience hunger that a few bites sastifys that feeling.

Did You Have To Do 6Mos Supervised Diet
I had to complete the six month supervised diet also. I was fortune because intially I wanted to have the LapBand. However, after learning of the gastric sleeve I changed my mind, and other issues I was experiencing with the LapBand program. The insurance allowed me to use those six months towards the sleeve requirements. Either way my insurance, Cigna, did require a six month supervised weight loss program. They were the longest six months. Good luck

Bad Decision
I hope you are feeling better now. I have also overeaten and had that "slimming reflux" effect, terrible experience. As much as we go to the educational meetings we are never fully prepared. I truly had to learn on my own to learn my limits. It has been a hard journey and I know it will get easier. Good luck to you

Recovery
I definitely think you will be able to go to the wedding. I think that the must difficulty you will experience is perhaps feeling nausea and your incisions may hurt. They get you up at the hospital to walk, walk, walk. This is a walk in the park compared to 4C sections. Just remember to sip, walk and rest. 10 days post op you should be feeling much better if you remember those three things. Good luck

Dehydrated/hopital/home
Good luck.. I am also experiencing dehydration, plus occassional vomiting. I was hospitalized 10 days after surgery. My doctor on Thursday put be back on a liquid diet for a week, maybe two. He said if I cant get 80 oz of fluid I have no business eating. About a week ago I also started experiencing headaches and now it has progessed to dizziness. It really has been a hard journey.

How Long Were You Off Work?
Initially the doctor said two weeks, that is for everyone that has the surgery at his office. However, I got three weeks off due to being rehospitialized.

Please Explain To Me...
I cant stand regular water and neither can my sleeve. I drink Crystal Lite and it truly depends on the flavor if I will tolerate it. Crystal Lite Lemonade is a definite no, Ice Tea flavor or Fruit Punch is my favorite. I also vomit the Celebrate Chewables or any form of liquid vitamins. I prefer Flinstones and the Gummy calcium vitamins. I definitely see a change in the differing ways of the flavors and how they relate to my sleeve.

Seriously, Another Week
wow, sounds like my journey... I also had to be re-hospitalized for dehydration. I can relate to the IV, same thing happened to me. The doctor instructed me today to drink milk all day nothing else, drink a gallon if I have to. That will satisfy my fluid and protein daily allowance. I wonder what is wrong with our stomachs that they are so sensitive.

Seriously, Another Week
on the liquid diet. I went to my doctors appt today. Since I am still vomiting and dehydrated back to the very beginning of the stages. I will be 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I am starting from the beginning again. sheesh.

How Much Cheese Do You Eat In A Day?
Being a vegetarian also I eat 4-5 oz a cheese a day, preferably with every meal. My favorite meal which I eat often is black beans with Colby cheese. There are also excellent crumbling Mexican cheeses that I prefer often. I also like paneer with spinach and low fat cottage cheese with mash potatoes. Since my surgery I cant stand Greek yogurt or my protein drinks, makes me gag. I am not allowed peanut butter until six months out. I also eat a lot of hummus and tofu.
