  1. I have Cigna, my BMI was 52. I had no other health problems. It took me a long while, I mean a long while, they usually wait the thirty days to give you a reply, even got denied once. I had to jump through many hoops such as the six month weight loss, nutrition class, psych testing, counseling, etc. Good luck.....
  2. I work out to Leslie Sansone and George Foreman DVD's. I really have enjoyed having the capability to get up an exercise. Do I love it? Not necessarily, however my body crys out for it. No longer do I feel like sitting for long periods of time. I like moving and feel terrifc that I can easily do so now. My only grief that I have is wishing this excess skin would just dissolve.
  3. Congrats, I feel your joy. When I started in Dec I was a size 2x blouse and size 24 pants. Today a size XL blouse and size 16 in pants. We both are rocking....
  4. Yep, I regretted it at the beginning when I was vomiting, rehosptialized, etc. However, 4 months post op, hell no I dont regret anything and would do it again. It is an adjustment and I still struggle with protein, hair loss, etc. but I would do it again. The best thing I did prior to surgery was start taking depression medication and had it increased after the surgery. It has helped immensely and I continue to take it to be successful in my weight loss. My advice educate yourself....
  5. So, I was bragging for a time that I had lost 70 pds in a four month period. However, I haven't lost any weight for several weeks. It is making me depressed because I am four months post op and I want to lose another sixty pounds. Here are some factors that might be contributing to my weight loss plateau. Everyday I have to drink six glasses of milk for the fluid and protein. Water literally makes me gag and vomit. Also, according to my doctor's plan I should be eating five ozs. I am only at four ozs and that is tough still. Any suggestions?
  6. I eat mash potatoes, they where allowed in my mushy stage. Make your own and use light versions of the ingredients.
  7. I have had the H-Pylori test, and it is not done until two weeks prior to your surgery. Mine came back positive and post-poned my surgery. They are not allowed to do it any sooner. It is part of your blood work. If the first cocktail doesnt clear it up then you have to take another dose. It is frustrating but it is for important for your health and success of your surgery. Good luck
  8. No, I have never heard this before, but I wanted to wish you well and good luck.
  9. I would like to say I am losing weight faster now than I did at the beginning. When I first started my journey I was a slow loser and was complaining. Yesterday morning I woke up and had lost 3 pds, this morning 1 pd. As you can see my starting weight was 311, today 241. I exercise maybe three times a week at 30 mins. My point is we are all different. Some days I rarely eat and other days I eat five to six times a day. Find what works for you and your body.
  10. Never heard of that before. Since I didnt have any health problems I did have to have a BMI higher than 50. I would definitely fight it.
  11. Goodwill has worked for me. However, I only buy my jeans or Capri's there. Funny thing, before when I went to look for a size 26 jeans I couldn't find them at Goodwill, now I see them there all the time. Also, I shop at Goodwill's outside my town. I immediately started donating my clothes to Goodwill. Good riddance. I don't want to see them again.
  12. We are all different.. I can eat eggs for Breakfast one day and the next day have the same exact thing and throw it up. I never have the same meal twice in one week. I can't tolerate Water or Protein drinks. I get most of my protein and water intake from skim milk 6-9 glasses a day. I don't vomit as much but it happens, sometimes from having that one extra bite, eating to fast or simply the stress of my job. It has been a huge adjustment, however I don't regret it. I will live with the occassionally vomiting versuses the limitations I had with my weight. I feel so alive now.
  13. It is definitely causing great anxiety with me. After my surgery I had it for two weeks, then it started two weeks later. It has been screwed up ever since then. My cramps are severly first.
  14. Hi, first to say Dr. Kim was my surgeon also... great guy, beautiful hospital. I use George Foremand and Leslie Sansone tapes. I bought them of off ebay, reasonable price. I also canoe, hike, and ride my bike. They have all benefit me in my exercise program. Good Luck
  15. Hi, looking for a plastic surgeon, that is highly recommended, out of USA. I need to start researching my possibilites. Thank you
  16. I wish I could give mine away... I hate that stuff since my surgery... and like everyone else I went overboard...lol
  17. Complications are different for everyone... myself I had a lot of vomiting and dehydration. Stay positive..
  18. Yes, mine definitely increased.
  19. When I was fatter I didnt mind my clothes off and walk around naked. Now with my weight loss and loose skin I want the lights off. Oh well, we still keep them on.
  20. My bf asked me twice not to have the surgery.. He loves big women. Yes, I did go through with the surgery. I became very insecure wondering if he was going to leave. However, he has been very supportive. Often he has comment on how well I am looking and he appreciates the fact I took these steps to improve my life. Before we often went out to dinner and a movie, now we are canoeing and hiking. Our sex life is fabulous, it was good before the surgery, but now I can move around easily and have became more flexible...lol. He even went out and bought me lingerie which I haven't worn in centuries. Odd thing my bf said to me the other day. We went to see a friend and she had gained approx 50 pounds. He commented how disappointed he was that she had gained that weight. He said he could tell how uncomfortable she was with herself. The difference in my attitude is that I am more secure with my self, I love me and I love life. I am not hiding anymore and I am glad he wants to grow with me. I do see where relationships do end because of insecurity and jealous. However, I refuse to have drama in my life. I am not setting myself up for failure in my weight loss journey. But I have to applaud his efforts and I am glad we are able to grow has a couple. Did I mention how great our sex life is also.... lol Good Luck
  21. My doctor advised to wait until I hit my three month mark. However, I had some difficult also. Good luck,,,,
  22. That is totally cool... cant wait for the same success.
  23. I having the same issue. I thought it was the computer at work, however it does the same thing at home.
