Well the hospital just called and gave me a time for surgery on Thursday! This is really happening!! Be there by 5:30 am for 7:30 surgery. My anxiety just spiked! LoL

I have a month to go today. Finally it's starting to get closer!

I am a little late chiming in, but I am scheduled to be sleeved on August 10, 2012 by Dr. Garcia in Tijuana. I am getting anxious and will be starting my pre-op diet on August 1. I look forward to following all of my fellow August sleevers!!!

For the record, I am now officially added to the August list. My surgery date is August 16!! Woohoo!!

Havent been sleeping well lately.Been feeling scared latelty... scared of complications....scared all my hair will fall out...scared I didnt chose the right surgeon...

Sounds like you need potassium. Call your surgeons office and ask if you can take some potassium pills or if you can have a banana....or a piece of banana each day.

I hope this is okay to share. But my feelings regarding the surgery have been jumping from excited to darn right frightened, as I know they do for many of us. A few weeks ago, I had some family over and I was mentioning my fears and how I don't want to leave my son behind. Well, yesterday evening my husband went out and got the mail and there was an envelope from my grandma. Inside was a little placard that said "When you expect miracles to happen, miracles will happen.' and then on the back she wrote a nice message about how she prays for me every day and that she wants me to have strength and BELIEVE IN MY HEART that everything will be okay. I read it and just broke down. My poor husband didn't know what to do with me. LoL
But after reading that I was filled with a sense of peace that I haven't had yet. So many things have fallen into place to make this surgery possible for me. I have to believe that it's meant to be.

So, I set up my fitness pal....my name is scottishrocker lol...i couldn't believe leprechaunmomma was taken!

Thank you everyone who friended me on myfitnesspal. I feel like we are on one of those long long lines for a Disney ride. We are finally at the point where we are under the canopy and can hear the music. Out ride will begin shortly!

I'm scheduled for Aug 10. I'm 5'4 also with 100 pounds to lose. Getting the jitters about moving forward.

Got a call and surgery has been moved up to Aug 1....yikes!! But as I said earlier no going back now I'm decaffinated:-)

I think when your family watches you struggle, complain,cry and try - try again they are living this journey with you. No doubt he means well and wants to help and it sounds like you've decided to humor him as well as do yourself a favor. Best wishes to both of you. I know one of my biggest motivators is the possible enjoyment my weight loss could bring for both my husband and I

So my husband decided today easy day to start Liquid Protein diet. I said.Dr, does not require me to do pre OP diet. He said, give yourself the best and healthiest chance of success. Grrr, dang men. Hate it that in my heart I know he's right but I've lost 70+ preop already. I was thinking id do 5 day but nope he figures 21 days. Ugh, I honestly didn't think he was really paying attention to what was required and what wasn't. So after many hours of being tired and hungry....it's time for bed. I had a coffee, Greek yogurt 9gr Protein, and two shakes worth 27 & 24 gr protein each. Total calories 90,130,150....not enough for me. I hope the dictator lightens up tomorrow. LoL. I do love him, and actually after all the whining know he's just wanting me to be healthy.

Date set ... August 31 in Mexico with Dr Garcia, selfpay of course. Anxious and excited.

29 days and counting! I am finding I have a little bit more control as each day passes. I checked out the box of munchkins my kids left out on the counter this morning. Looked inside it. Said no, closed that box, and felt so proud of myself! Little steps up the mountain of New Life.

So good to see all the nurses out there ready to make the change. As the natural nurturers we are, many times we suffer for it. Long hours, physical and mental stress. We eat the wrong things, too exhausted to exercise and take care of ourselve. Well, Nurses, WE ARE WORTH IT! Looking forward for my surgery date, almost nervous it may not happen. good luck and prayers to St Catherine Siena, Patron Saint of Nurses, for everyone's health and speedy recovery.

August 29. So close...so far away! Looking forward to the sleeve. A bit anxious because my eating is still so out of control...wish I could get some discipline to stick to the pre-op plan.
