  1. My surgeon ok'd caffeine pretty early out. I can't function without it, 40 hours a week at work plus 22 units in Bio. Impossible to do it without coffee! I just do coffee with nonfat milk or sometimes half a 5 hour energy if I work a triple. I do make sure that I get in all my Water though. But I too have been told by docs that caffeine can't be a diuretic unless you take in a ton. It may give you a BM, but usually doesn't mess with water in your body.
  2. I had sorbet very early out, maybe 3 weeks. I was out with the fam and they went to a Haagen Dazs (sp?) shop so I got a kids size of the Blackberry Sorbet. It settled fine with Hamilton (my sleeve).
  3. I thought it was just me! I have been hovering around this 209/208 for a while now and am getting really irritated!
  4. A good portion of sleevers can never handle red meat, especially beef again. So there is a chance of never. Also, rice is very touchy for people. I had Carne Asada 2 months out, and waited until 3 for rice, on sushi. I tried tortillas around 2 months and they made me a little uncomfy. I can eat maybe 1/2 a small corn one. Wait it out. Seriously your options are to suffer with your cravings and head hunger or potentially go to the hospital after harming yourself.
  5. I know quite a few people that had Watermelon very early out. It is soft enough that you can chew it to a puree/mushie. Be careful though, it is a slider for me!
  6. I am in too! SW: 208 GW: 180 I am also going to try to cut out more carbs and work out 4 - 5 times a week!
  7. My stats were very similar! I was 260 and I am 5'6" You better not lose faster than me
  8. I peeled mine off about 2 - 3 weeks in and I did get some scab with it, it didn't hurt though. I put normal bandages on and they were fine. My pants took 3 weeks I think. They are shipped from Britain so that is why they take so long. I read somewhere it is actually boat shipping.
  9. Globetrotter, I have heard of some people getting a revision, but not really a routine rejuvenation. Most of the revisions were from people who stretched their sleeve by overeating everyday and gained a lot of weight back. I don't know if I would want to go through surgery again lol
  10. If you look at other posts on here you will see the Vets say the same thing, "Step away from the scale for a few weeks!" "You are swollen from surgery" "Your body gained IV weight" "You are in shock" So there you have it. Put the scale away for a few weeks and relax. You will lose weight, it is impossible not to. People worry too much about weight and become obsessed with it. Later on, weight once a week or two, not everyday!
  11. I was told to wait 6 weeks for "real" exercise and told a little linger to lift weights that would cause me to tighten my tummy. As for biking, my doc said whenever because I am a student at UCSB and have to bike to get around (or walk 45 min) but otherwise he advises 2 - 3 months if it is on a real bike outside. This is due to the possibility of falling I guess. Indoor biking for most is cleared around 6 weeks.
  12. They will go away! Wallk, walk, walk! It was the only thing that helped me! I also felt them up in my shoulder area, it was so painful! It was the only thing that hurt for me. Hang in there!
  13. Pain from what?. The incisions? Drain? Gas? Sorry to hear this!
  14. I had guac and salsa in my puree stage. I eat them often now to spice up food. I would advise to stay away from the junk though. Yes "a little" won't hurt. But then you say you are addicted to them. You are not going to eat a little. Sort out your food addictions so you don't harm yourself like some on here have.

I started having sashimi really early out as well. It was really gentle on my sleeve. I just had my first sushi since the surgery a week ago. I ate a whole two pieces and felt not full but not empty, I didn't want to push it with a third piece so I stopped there.
  16. Mina, I can only eat about 2 oz of Protein at a time if it is meat. Less if it is red meat. So it is definitely hard. Also, I stay full for 4+ hours. I rarely have room for veggies too. If I solely drank shakes, I would be fine. But I try to limit those and rely on food sources.
  17. I guess I am the exception then! I used ot be able to handle 10 shots and two to three beers before getting drunk. One shot does me in now. I am so drunk, like stupid girl, for 10 minutes and then sober up. I have three friends with VSG who are the same way.
  18. DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF NOW! ok. Whew. Everyone does this. They freak out after they weigh themselves a week out. You are swollen, you have had fluids being pumped into you for days. You probably haven't had a bowel movement and feel like crap (some do). Relax. I didn't weigh until a few weeks out maybe and I only weigh once a week now. It will happen, be patient.
  19. Yay! And I agree, they are small! I was fitting into many 18s before I could squeeze my butt into Old Navy's!
  20. They go all the way up and over that whole area, so unless you are twisting your middle area and making it slide back and forth I wouldn't think so! Honestly though your strips might fall off from the sweat!
  21. The stringy fibers in celery make it really hard to digest and can cause a bezoar or intestinal blockage that could lead to a bowel impaction. Not fun. That was my doc's reasoning.
  22. I haven't gotten the guts to do it yet! I am doing Jillian Michaels's 30 Day Shred which has comparable results and it is kicking my butt! I am so sore all the time!
  23. I was told that digestion would be harder, that is why some of us can't tolerate red meat and such. We are cutting out a considerable portion of our digestive enzymes so that is expected. I haven't had any trouble with any foods though! As for Vitamin B, if you read the boards you will see that all of us take a supplement for this reason. Whether it be in shot form, chewable or pill - it is very common.
  24. So I just finished my first workout using them and I am SOAKED! I sweat may more than usual, no change on my HRM for calories burned for my usual workout. Hopefully these will help me bump up my weight loss!
  25. Well it looks like I have 5ish days to drop 10 pounds. Someday I will conquer a challenge. SW: 216 CW: 209 GW: 199
