Combined Gallbladder Removal?
Lucky! I wish they removed mine! I am so afraid of the super painful symptoms people report on here. I am sure it will just mean another laproscopic incision and more time under so more anesthesia. It shouldn't change much. It only took 25 minutes to take out my tummy, so I am guessing a gallbladder doesn't take too long either.

5 Weeks Post-Op: Can I Eat A Little Corn?
I wasn't told anything about corn, but salads were a no-no for a while. Especially raw vegetables. I was told they are tough to digest and don't really do much for us. We should be focusing on proteins first.

16 Mos Out...disappointed
Haha thanks, but I was replying to lml who said she is vegetarian. I don't know if I could get enough Protein in if I was.

16 Mos Out...disappointed
Just a quick question, how do you get your Protein in? Is it all from fish or shakes? I was recently wishing I could switch but then realized how hard it would be to get in 70g protein.

Over Isopure.com
Everyone on here talks about Premier Protein and I finally gave in and tried it. It is pretty tasty, much nicer than muscle milk, and has I think 30g of Protein in one RTD serving. They sell it at costco and Sam's Club and online. For me though, earlier at least, I stuck to unjury and nectar. You can buy a nectar sample pack at Bariatric Advantage -- online -- for like 13 bucks.

What Method Of Birth Control Did You Use?
Just to note on this, antibiotics only affect some type of BC. Depo, for instance, is not affected by 98% of antibiotics. Same with the implant.

What Method Of Birth Control Did You Use?
You should realllllllly consider BC. After the sleeve so many hormones are being released that you become extremely fertile. I have heard of women who were "sterile" for 15 years getting pregnant months after surgery. If you do get pregnant it is very dangerous for you and the baby to continue on, some women have done it with no problems, but the likelihood of having problems is huge. I am one of the few who is on depo and loves it, every 3 months I get one shot, no weight gain, no headaches or nausea. I guess I lucked out.

Can't Take The Protein Drinks, Also Getting Dehydrated
I was told it was ok to add in anything that helped me get in Water. And thanks! It won't be long before you will be shedding weight too!

Can't Take The Protein Drinks, Also Getting Dehydrated
I agree, I didn't even start thinking about Protein for at least a week or two. I was just working on liquids. Drink whatever you can, as often as possible! Little sips go a long way if you take a lot of them throughout the day! Hang in there

Bad Pain
I had some minor spasms and gurgles whenever I drank/ate anything for the first month. I have heard that cold Water makes the spasms worse or more painful -- some people say water in general. Mine weren't necessarily painful though, just irritating. If the pain persists I would give your surgeon a call and check it out!

Liquids B4 Surgery
What did your doctor tell you about pre-op goals? Some have calorie restrictions, others just have food-type restrictions. If you weren't specified a certain calorie goal I wouldn't worry about it too much. And yes, you can change the "goal" on MFP to anything.

Cost Of Vsg In Mexico
I went to dr. Ponce de leon in Tijuana and my total stay was $5500. That included 3 hospital nights and 2 hotel nights and all meals out of the hospital for me and my aunt who came with me. I chose the INT hospital which was nice and small -- 7 rooms per floor so you always had the same nurse. It had a nice big shower and was a big private room. I also got a video of my surgery

Free Tummy Tuck At Burn Unit
It was a Dr. Cortina in Willits/Ukiah Ca I recently heard some iffy news of him though, apparently he didn't go to Med School for cosmetics but has been doing some sort of seminar program to get his degree. Someone said he had botched a tummy tuck recently. I think he has a website though.

Free Tummy Tuck At Burn Unit
Yes, in the US. No more updates, she is healing nicely. I haven't really looked into this for myself. I have quite some time before I will be surgery ready!

Funny Is'nt It?
I am with you on today being a free for all lol I was driving all day, 8 hours home, and didn't plan well. I stopped at McD's (Oh NO!) and got a grilled snack wrap and some fries. It took about 3 hours to eat, and I felt like I had cheated, but it is nothing compared to what I would have eaten before.

Dr Ponce De Leon June 15
I already had mine done by him in March and loved him and his staff! If you need any info or have any questions, just ask!

For The Ladies....
I had depo, not mirena I know, and I had actually stopped 3 month's before surgery to kind of purge my system. Well I didn't get a period at all, I even waited for another 3 months before getting my shot again. I have heard some people who had their period with depo so it might just depend on your body.

Ice Cream...
I just eat ice cream lol I eat only about 1/5 cup and it fixes my craving. I chose this surgery to still enjoy all foods. I guess you can buy some pre-packaged fro-yo. I have seen pints and what not or sorbet, if you don't want to eat the real thing.

New Guy From San Diego!
Hey! Welcome As some others said, I wouldn't worry too much about Protein now. Focus on fluids and making sure that you are hydrated! The first few weeks are when people have to go back in to the hospital from dehydration. Keep us posted!

Meat Meat Meat
I have to agree! I think it is normal for us! My go to meal or snack is thick carved turkey deli meat. I love it
