Is It Time For A Tummy Tuck?
I am still post op, but fro what I have read on here and from my doctor, is that you need to wait at least 1 year after you have maintained your weight goal. That will give your skin some time to bounce back. This is usually at least 2 years after the surgery for people, from what I have read and seen.

I Have Been Horrified By The Chewable Vitamin Samples
I had talked to my doc about the absorption and he said it does absorb a little less than citrate so to take more than the box suggests. Thanks for the info though!

How Much Time Did You Take Off Of Work?
Thanks for the replies! I think I am just going to do the 1 official week off and my partial week off. I do have a letter that says I need to be doing light work and my boss has agreed to that, so I will probably just be cooking or baking! Once, again thanks!

How Much Time Did You Take Off Of Work?
Hi everyone! I am trying to decide how much time is suitable to take off of work. I am a student so I will be doing this surgery right after my finals, so I will have my spring break (1 week) and a few days to recover before work and school starts. I will be going back to school normally when it starts. My question is about work, I work about 18 hours part time in addition to school at a dining common that requires lots of lifting, bending and running around. I work in the back with storage boxes and cleaning big pots as well. My boss said she will give me as much time as I need as long as my doctor writes a letter. Dr. Garcia said it wouldn't be a problem to give me however long I want. I don't want to take advantage of it or take more time than I need, I do need my job money. How much time do you think I will need to recover? How much time did you take off?

What Is Everyone Looking Forward To?
There are a few things I am looking forward to. The first is to wear a white summer dress and not look like a marshmallow! Another, which is silly and slightly irresponsible, is to go to a party and wear party clothes! I am at a party college but have only been to 2 parties in the 2 years I have been here, I am too self conscious to even go out and get all dressed up for one! Lastly, to not show up to class all sweaty from riding my bike for ten minutes!

Self Esteem And The Gym
Is there another gym in your area that caters to an older crowd? I have found that gyms with older people are much nicer because they are nicer and more accepting of people. Another option, that I can't ever seem to do, is to not care what people think and focus on yourself and not what other people think of you. After a few times I am sure you will be more comfortable.

Mom Of A 22 Year Old
Well the big question is, does she want to lose weight? I have always been bigger and my mum has always been around 105 pounds. She always tried to get me to lose weight and suggested new diets/exercise plans often. Even though I wanted to lose weight, I didn't do it or try because of how she made me feel. She finally got that and left me alone, saying she just wanted me to be happy and it didn't matter at what size that was at. I decided to have this surgery on my own and then told my mum, she was happy for me but I was happier that I didn't get pushed into it. Give her some space about it. She will decide to do what she wants, and it may be making her feel bad even if she doesn't tell you. We care too much about our moms to tell them when they are stepping on our toes!

Who Are You?
Hi everyone!! My name is Marisa, I am currently a Biology Pre-Dental student at UCSB and am 20 years old. I am originally from Ukiah, CA -- a tiny podunk town in Nor Cal. I have two siblings and a wonderful mom that raised us. I am engaged to my boyfriend of three years, Rigo, who has been more than supportive through this whole journey. I currently work at a dining hall (glamorous, I know) on campus and kind of love it! For me, weight has always been a problem but it really ballooned out of control when my dad passed when I was ten. The pounds just kept packing on. And, I love baking which probably didn't help! My surgery is on March 23rd with Dr. Garcia and I am super excited to start this part of my life!!

This May Sound Stupid... But I Need An Excuse.
I completely understand where you are coming from. I am 20 and in college at UCSB, the campus made of gorgeous people who run around in bikinis! I work at a dining hall so I have to tell my boss that I need a week off, I am getting my VSG during spring break so I should have about two weeks off total. I told her the truth and she was very understanding, but to my college student coworkers I lied. I had told a friend of mine when I was just looking into it and she was so negative and judgmental, she called me lazy and said I was "cheating". After that, I decided to tell people I am getting my gallbladder removed and that I need to go on a special diet before hand to make it easier to see inside me. Everyone has been ok with that so far. I said I am getting it done at home too, I am actually self pay in Mexico. I do plan on telling people once it is said and done - I just don't want to have to deal with more judgment before I do it. I am sorry you have to keep it a secret too, I know it sucks!

Mexico Sleevers?!
Hi Andersonlj actually made me realize I didn't go with Kelly, but with Dr. Garcia instead. Just to let you know. :smile1:

Mexico Sleevers?!
My surgery, that I have scheduled for March, is $5,000 with Dr. Kelly. I live in California anyway, Santa Barbara infact, so it wasn't so big of a deal for me. My insurance wouldn't pay, I am a student at UCSB so we have bad coverage, and in most of California the cheapest was about $20,000 not including hospital stay. For me it was a better choice especially because I would have to travel to LA or SF to get my surgery anyway.

Pre - Pre Surgery Diet
Hey Everyone! I am relatively new to this forum. I am self pay in Mexico for March 23rd and was recently thinking about going on a diet and starting to exercise. I just feel like the day I sent in my deposit and finalized the date, that I was ready to take charge of my life and change. I haven't talked to my doctor about this yet. I was hoping to get some feedback! I have this irrational fear that I may not be "overweight enough" by the end of March. I am 5'5" and about 250 so i have some weight to shed before I have too low of a BMI for surgery. So, what do you think? Should I start to exercise and diet now or wait?

Facial Hair & Hair Loss Question
Hey everyone! I am new here, but thought I would let you know about the Tria. I have been using it off and on for a few months and have seen a big difference in my leg hair!I am sure if I used it more frequently and continually it would work better. I started a little on my face but only use it around my mustache and chin area. I am too afraid to use it on my cheeks or close to my eyes! Too bad the facial hair doesn't fall out!

Question For Those Who Had Dr. Kelly... Transportation.
Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and have been looking into getting my sleeve done in Mexico. I had a question about Dr. Kelly in TJ, I have received an automated reply from him stating that they would pick me up from the airport and take me to the office. I am not flying though, I live in California and was hoping to drive and be picked up by the border. I know other doctors do this and was wondering if anyone had made other arrangements with Dr. Kelly to do this. Any info would be great! Thanks!
