  1. If you think you can than your already half way there! Congrats on all the weight loss so far. If that's what you can accomplish without the lapband you'r body fat is about to have a very rude awakening once your banded
  2. LOL! "I'm a tree" Well if you're an everyday tree than I'm a sequoia because I'm 6'1!! and haven't seen 192 since the 3rd grade!!! I Have been moving up the scale since. Now after 2 babies and a wonderful life I'm in the 300's and well...height doesn't hide everything (as you can attest to :-) Anyway, have you decided to get the surgery or are you still researching?
  3. That's exactly what I'm hoping for with the band.
  4. Congrats on your surgery, it sounds like your doing well. I hope your pain eases up soon and can't wait to read more of your posts
  5. Sounds like a really good (anxiety free) time . I'm working now (before surgery) at learning how to eat like a bander so that once I am banded it won't be so new to me.
  6. So I'm sure that many can relate when I say I feel as though I have an eating problem, maybe even a slight addiction. I know my triggers and I know my likely times in which I am more apt to overeat, however, I've yet to go to my psych evaluation (next week ) So I'm wondering for all those who know what its like to be reliant on food for more than just hunger, explain to me please how you've coped with or broken your negative eating habits, food addictions and or emotional eating problems. Thank you!
  7. Congrats! I don't know why your surgeon has decided to wait till FEB to do your first fill, mine explained to me that he will fill mine to 3cc's on the table (which I'm very happy about!) but what Arzel says makes perfect sense and seems to be the popular choice for most surgeons.

Those are some awesome NSV's! I hope those late nights and weekends get easier as you continue to gain more will power. It's great that you've even been able to at least recognize your threats, now you just have to figure out how to guard yourself from them. Good luck on your journey :-D
  9. Wow, sounds intense! I haven't been banded yet but I enjoy reading peoples first experience with the band. I hope you get better soon and good luck on your journey
  10. That's awesome jreal! Congrats on your progress!
  11. So I met with my (hopefully-soon-to-be) surgeon at a seminar last week and made an appointment with him for this week. I found out that my insurance (United Healthcare: Choice Plus) will cover my surgery (Thank GOD!) and I turned in all my medical history and personal information regarding insurance to the surgeon the day of the seminar so I'm wondering...what's next? I'm super excited and very anxious to get a surgery date...how long did it take you after confirmation of payment through insurance? What did you talk about? What HAPPENS NEXT?!? Thanks for your input
  12. Whoa! If 70 pounds in 5 months is "slow process" I'll take it with a huge smile and a loud "thank you ma'am!" That's so awesome and very much inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
  13. I'm proud of your 61 pounds down too! That's amazing and I, too, hope that your next 80 comes off as fast as your first 61! Good luck :-D
  14. You're absolutely right, one dinner worth a thousand amazing ones...i'd take those odds:-) Good luck on everything and hope to see you around...here..of course :-D
  15. Wow. Well it's good to see that you're healing well and that you have good spirits about the whole situation. Congratulations on your weight loss thus far as well. Do you intend to continue with the surgery or will you continue to go it alone??
  16. In all my research of banding I have rarely ever watched a pre-op video unless I'd already seen the results of what the person had accomplished before they were banded. I do wonder if they're hopes and fears are like that of my own, or how they got to where they were in weight and how had they struggled with it. Sigh... The stories are so unbelievably the same and so are the emotions. There's sadness, depression, pain, sickness, hmmm, it kind of sounds like I'm describing the side effects of a prescription drug HEY with all the med's we fat folks have to take due to obesity related issues I wouldn't be surprised if these emotions actually ARE side effects! Anywhoo, I'm writing this because I hope to be able to look back in a years time and remember pre-op me. Remember my state of mind and body and think 'Wow, look at how you've changed..' Aaagh to daydream...
  17. LOL! Good for you and good luck on your goals!
  18. Thanks Dawn! I can see that in myself as well. I keep asking myself whether I'm trying to take an easier (not easy) way out. But after all my research I've come to believe that this isn't easy in any way, shape or form!
  19. You and me both Diva..Good luck on your journey and I hope the after surgery issues get better soon!
  20. Awesome! Yeah, I think that must be many people's fear, I do hope that I'm not one of them either
