First Call, "hello, This Is Heaven."
LOL! "I'm a tree" Well if you're an everyday tree than I'm a sequoia because I'm 6'1!! and haven't seen 192 since the 3rd grade!!! I Have been moving up the scale since. Now after 2 babies and a wonderful life I'm in the 300's and well...height doesn't hide everything (as you can attest to :-) Anyway, have you decided to get the surgery or are you still researching?

Eating Addiction And Emotional Eating: How Have You Coped After Being Lap Banded?
Sounds like a really good (anxiety free) time . I'm working now (before surgery) at learning how to eat like a bander so that once I am banded it won't be so new to me.

Eating Addiction And Emotional Eating: How Have You Coped After Being Lap Banded?
So I'm sure that many can relate when I say I feel as though I have an eating problem, maybe even a slight addiction. I know my triggers and I know my likely times in which I am more apt to overeat, however, I've yet to go to my psych evaluation (next week ) So I'm wondering for all those who know what its like to be reliant on food for more than just hunger, explain to me please how you've coped with or broken your negative eating habits, food addictions and or emotional eating problems. Thank you!

Being Banded On 1/9/2012
Congrats! I don't know why your surgeon has decided to wait till FEB to do your first fill, mine explained to me that he will fill mine to 3cc's on the table (which I'm very happy about!) but what Arzel says makes perfect sense and seems to be the popular choice for most surgeons.

What To Expect? What Happened At Your First Lap Band Surgery Appointment?
So I met with my (hopefully-soon-to-be) surgeon at a seminar last week and made an appointment with him for this week. I found out that my insurance (United Healthcare: Choice Plus) will cover my surgery (Thank GOD!) and I turned in all my medical history and personal information regarding insurance to the surgeon the day of the seminar so I'm wondering...what's next? I'm super excited and very anxious to get a surgery date...how long did it take you after confirmation of payment through insurance? What did you talk about? What HAPPENS NEXT?!? Thanks for your input

Pre-op Is Boring And Uninteresting
In all my research of banding I have rarely ever watched a pre-op video unless I'd already seen the results of what the person had accomplished before they were banded. I do wonder if they're hopes and fears are like that of my own, or how they got to where they were in weight and how had they struggled with it. Sigh... The stories are so unbelievably the same and so are the emotions. There's sadness, depression, pain, sickness, hmmm, it kind of sounds like I'm describing the side effects of a prescription drug HEY with all the med's we fat folks have to take due to obesity related issues I wouldn't be surprised if these emotions actually ARE side effects! Anywhoo, I'm writing this because I hope to be able to look back in a years time and remember pre-op me. Remember my state of mind and body and think 'Wow, look at how you've changed..' Aaagh to daydream...

Biggest Fears Pre Lap Band Surgery?? Did They Come To True?
Thanks Dawn! I can see that in myself as well. I keep asking myself whether I'm trying to take an easier (not easy) way out. But after all my research I've come to believe that this isn't easy in any way, shape or form!
