  1. Congratulations!!! What an inspiration for those that are only in the beggining stages of this journey. Success doesn't happen overnight...
  2. Your portion choices are as important as your food choices. I remember when I went to the seminar the speaker said "you can not expected to loose weight eating oreos and ice cream for dinner." I think that was so funny because it had crossed my mind that I could eat anything as long as it was small portions. Sometimes its hard to change old habits. Portion control is a problem for me mostly at dinner time and I encounter that more often if Im eating out. I think my problem is that by the time dinner comes am starving due to the fact that I eat very little during the day. So I eat til my belly hurts (like Ilene said). I wish I didn't do that, I dont want to stretch my pouch....
  3. You are right NO surgeon would want to touch you if they didn't perform the surgery. I would suggest to call your insurance and find out what the process is to submit a claim so you can get reimbursed after self pay. Request that your fill is a little larger than they usually give you so that you don't have to go in as often. Good Luck with everything!!
  4. I understand what you are going thru sometimes its hard for me to get the recommended amount of liquids. My problem is when I drink I have to rush to the bathroom and since I work in an office I can't leave the front desk unnatended plus the damn phone starts ringing the minute I step into the bathroom. One thing I do is to always have a bottle on my desk and my purse so I can remind myself to drink it. I add crystal light iced tea or diet snapple green tea packets to my Water to make it more flavorfull. Hope you feel better soon and drink your liquids!!!
  5. That is my worst fear stretching my pouch. I admit I don't always measure my food, but I stop when Im full. Sometimes Im too full I can't even drink Water. I have to stick to measuring I really don't want to strech my pouch.
  6. Wow you are such an inspiration!!! Thank you for posting this !!!!!!!
  7. I continue to drink coffee in the morning with 1% milk and splenda sugar blend. Sometimes if I dont have milk I put french vanilla or hazelnut coffeemate powder.
  8. I too had to get rid of clothes with tags that are now too big on me. I never got to wear them but Im happy about that!!
  9. 6 months post op and depending on the position my port site still bothers me. Not too painful just uncomfortable.
  10. Aww .... you must feel great!!!
  11. Yes, its an application you can use on your phone or computer. You can log your food and excersice. My favorite tool on myfitnesspal is the scan tool !! Love it!!! My nick: kflower84 Add me !!!
  12. Thats the way the dress is made. Bunches up on the sides. I thought that detail might take focus away from my lower abdomen. Am I wrong? But you are right I HAVE to wear my spandex!!! Thank you so much for the feedback .....
  13. I know what you are saying about the color. My husband did not like the color either. The color of the wedding is turquoise so I was looking for something neutral to blend in. The dress was very inexpensive $20 @ Burlington. (But I still need shoes) I can never find good looking and comfortable shoes. I love to wear high heels but I dont know how to walk with them. Does anyone recommend Dr. Scholls products??? The dress is actually a size 16 and is not tight at all. It might look tight because im not wearing the proper undergarments at the time the pic was taken. Thank you so much for your feedback....I really appreciate it!!!!
  14. I have the same exact one (not wearing it on the pic because I was just trying out dress) So I think with the spandex on I would look even better. Thanks for your comment
  15. I forgot to mention the shoes on the pic are not the ones I am wearing ....
  16. Ok girls I desperatly need your help. Im going to my brothers wedding in Aug 4 (abou 2 weeks away) I need to know if this is the right dress for me ? I have never wore a dress in my life so I dont really know what looks good on me. Its going to be a small wedding. Park setting, and a small reception (during the day) Can you please give me some advise...... Ps: I have a really tight budget. Since the wedding is 4 hrs from where I live and I have to pay for lodging, gas, etc. Thanks , kathy
  17. You are lucky your surgeon is willing to do all surgeries in one. My surgeon would not do both my surgeries at once. I almost had to cancel my Lapband surgery because I was not willing to pay my $2500 deductible twice. Good Luck to you!!!
  18. Congratulations on the approval!! If you had all the information required to make this decision, why second guess yourself now ?? I considered myself lucky because I learned of this website about a month after surgery and it was only a few months ago that I started reading post, commenting, etc. I only followed my doctors orders and nobody elses. If something goes wrong or there is a complication he should be responsible because I did as I was told. Thats my only advised. There are a lot of different opinions here on how to do things but I suggest just listen to your doctor or you'll go crazy. But nothing to worry about , good luck!
  19. I had mine out 3 weeks before my lapband. I knew I had gallstones and I was afraid of complications during or after my lapband surgery. I was having minor symtoms like feeling nauseus after eating fried egg, minor back pain and having stomach pain more and more frequently. My doctor order an ultrasound and saw a bunch of big stones in my gallbladder and also the common bile ducts were inflammated. It was my decision to take out before I start having pain. Something that influenced my decision was my insurance. I have a $2500 deductible for hospitals and if I waited for later I would have to pay deductible twice. So in 11/18/11 I had my gallbladder removed and 3 weeks later 12/9/11 my lapband by the same doctor.
  20. I started at a size 18/20/22 (very tight 18) 6 months later I can fit into some 14's but my current size is 16. I can still wear some of my 18's that did not fit before and they're very loose. I don't know what my goal is right now but I would love to shop at a regular clothing store instead of the "plus".
  21. Congratulations!! Your new life begins today.
  22. I like LIGHT MUSCLE MILK all flavors and my new favorite EAS Low Carb Strawberrys and Cream Shake !!!
  23. I was told no liquids at least 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after a meal.
