Does Your Schedule And Amount Of Food Change
Since I had a three week delay due to some complications with my hiatial hernia surgery, I am probably going to start soft foods tomorrow. My question is do you ever get to eat more than 4 oz. at a time, do you always have to wait 1/2 hour between eating and drinking, are you always restricted to 4 oz. of liquids at a time? I am really not talking about right now, while I am still healing, I guess I am referring to later. Or if this does change, when does it change? I read so manyof you drink 30 oz. of Starbucks at a time and sip tons of water all day and don't understand how you do it wih these restrictions. Thanks for clarifying for me.

"cheating" (A Concern)
I feel so lucky that my doctor has a great dietician for me to work with right in his office. It assures me that I will not be "jumping the gun" and eating someting I shouldn't be. I agree that you really need to follow your doctor's requirements and eat at the stages he recommends. It's true the first couple of months are boring but remember, we didn't gain all the weight in just a couple of months, and we are fortunate to be able to lose at a fast pace after the surgery. We certainly couldn't lose this fast on our own, so we have to weigh the good with the bad and appreciate that we are already much healthier than we have been in years, and that a month or so is nothing to contend with!

Sweet Potato Bake
Sorry I forgot! Calories 140 (from fat 20), Fat 2 g (Saturated 1 g), Cholesterol 55mg, sodium 160 mg, carbs 27 g,(dietary Fiber 3 g) Protein 5 g, Sugar 7 g I was going to use Splenda brown sugar but didn't have any so that would definitely help with the sugar count.

Sweet Potato Bake
Here is a great recipe for a side dish (or main dish if you are on smooth or mushy stage). It is very tasty and something different. i got it from my Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook for Dummies. 2 cups canned sweet potatoes, drained (I used one 14.5 oz. can) 1 egg 1 TBSP brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup fat free or reduced fat cream cheese 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp nutmeg 1/8 tsp ground cloves Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Spray baking dish with cooking spray. (Said to use 8 x 8 dish but this only yields four servings of 1/2 cup each, so I just used a small round ceramic baking dish from Home Goods). Place all ingredients in to a food processor and puree until well mixed. Pour the mixture into dish and bake for 20 minutes. YUMMY!
