  1. Thanks for the soup recipe. Sounds great!
  2. Love my sleeve too. have lost 32 pounds in 7 weeks. Only 20 more to go for me! YAY!
  3. Could just be gas or acid. Try some GasX chewables and ask your doctor for some acid reducer. hope you feel better.
  4. Wow what a great success! You look awesome.
  5. OOH today I had the best lunch. Two Jennio turkey meatballs with marinara sauce, cottage cheese, mixed peas and carrots, and a small sald with diced tomato and avocado with a little lettuce. Although I really didn't care for the lettuce yet, so I will skip that next, but I had some variety today anyway. Remember there is an end to the liquid and mushies stages!
  6. Try the StarKist Sandwich Ready Albacore tuna in the pouch. Already prepared with mayo and very tiny pieces of celery. DOES NOT have to be refrigerated until open. It is 3 1/2 oz. so you should be able to get it all down anyway! Always keep WASA crackers. They are great with just about anything
  7. I was looking at protein bars yesterday, and couldn't decide since all of them I saw had SOOO many carbs in them? What about the ones you all have mentioned?
  8. My doctor moved me up to 8 oz. at a time ( food or liquids) last week (I am 7 weeks out now) but there is no way I can go over 4-5 oz. at a time with food, but I certainly can with liquids.
  9. Please don't think of it like that! You won't be that hungry anyway after surgery so you will be fine on liquids for a little while. It is not the same as the pre-op diet since your stomach is 85 percent smaller! Of course you will lose weight! You won't be drinking or eating that much. You will feel so good after you do this for yourself! of course no one likes the liquid or pureed diets, but if you do well on the stages, you can move right along to the next stage, and my doctor didn't even pur me on the full liquid stage he moved me right into mushies. I am 7 weeks out now and on any food ( except bread and pasta). I feel so good and have lost 32 lbs. You will be amazed how fast the time will go and remember, just because one person has pain or issues, doesn't mean you will. I never had to take any pain meds after my surgery. I hope you will realize what a great thing you are doing for yourself and your health. Keep us posted. You will do great!
  10. Yesterday was my 7 weeks since surgery. Thought I would give an update cuz some of you are asking about post op eating and diets, etc. Went to the doctor today and have some changes! last week I was moved up to 8 oz. of food from 4 oz. when he put me on regular foods. (Still can't eat that much though!) Now today I have been moved to any foods except bread and steak. He even said salad was fine and raw veggies and whole fruits. My max calories were increased from 800 max to between 800-1,000 max. I have had a great decrease in body fat percentage and my muscle mass has increased since I have been doing 1/2 hour on the treadmill daily. I was increased to 45 minutes onthe treadmill, and every few days I have increased my incline a bit and speed and it gets easier eaxh day. He also told me to start working my upper arms with 5 lb. weights every day if possible. I have lost 32 pounds so far. Although I originally only had 55 lbs. to lose, I was considered in the "morbidly obese" range. All of my weight was in my abdomen and very dangerous. I had a horrible hiatial hernia repair (2 hours worth) before my sleeve. I am now only 20 lbs. away from my doctor's goal. I feel so good and love my sleeve! To all of you who just recently had your surgery and feeling regretful about it, please don't. Some just don't heal as quickly as others, and everyone's body reacts differently. You won't be on liquids or Protein drinks forever, so just try to be as patient as possible and get through that and the mushies stage and then when you get to foods again, you will be so happy because you will see the pounds and inches just falling off. You will feel better than ever! Love my sleeve and this website! Janet
  11. Yes the strips work good and fast too, but I am not into the minty flavor of those!
  12. Also try some GasX chewables. You don't have to swallow them and it's worth a try. They are cherry creme flavor. Good luck!
  13. I am 7 weeks out and see the doctor and dietician tomorrow. Going to ask about salad and bread! Love my sleeve. No problems yet with any foods, except chicken seems somewhat stringy.
  14. I was in a stall for about a week. I increased my calorie intake a little, and made sure I drank 2 Premier Protein drinks a day and I lost 4 lbs. the next day!
  15. I know. Everything I saw when i goodled some recipes showed it on top of the stove too. Maybe since it is not a real expensive one (only 19.99).
  16. Tonight I made spaghetti and meatballs for the first time after being put on regular food. It tasted sooo good I couldn't believe it and went down like a dream! I am so glad i don't have a cranky sleeve! Did alot of cutting up though!
  17. My instructions on mine say "Do not use on stovetop. Use in oven only." Wonder why? I got mine from World Market too like he did.
  18. Wow I bet that made you feel great! You look awesome!
  19. I have been the same way. I have 2 wool blankets and a comforter on the bed and have to sleep with wool socks? What causes this after surgery?
  20. In a few weeks you will forget all about this and you will feel so much better. Just keep telling yourself you are on the road to a healthier you. Sushineis just around the corner for you.
  21. I never had any hair loss after surgery, so I don't think it's something that happens to everybody!
  22. I had trouble with the powdered protein drinks, but if you are near a Costco, try the liquid Premier Protein in chocolate. tastes just like chocolate milk and is much easier to handle. At this point, water is important so you won't get dehydrated. That's one thing you don't want to do. If the water makes you gag, then drop a packet of crystal Light in and it may be better. Also try a sugar free popsicle which is still aliquid diet item, but I heard makes some feel better if they feel nauseated. Try some chicken broth too and see if the warmer broth goes down any easier. Please hang in there. It will get better soon.
