  1. Pookeyism, you are at VS? Great job! That is so rewarding in it's self. I love some of the clothing from VS. I am now in a size M. I by passed the L really fast. But I can sometimes get away with wearing an L. Keep Rockin that Sleeve!
  2. I don't worry about stalls much anymore. I realize after my stalls and reading everyone else's fears of not losing anymore, that it's totally unrealistic that we are stopping our weight loss. I wanted to see the scale go down instantly. Well, my weight didn't go on instantly, so it will take a while do go down. I realized that when my body halted shedding those unwanted pounds. My body was readjusting in inches. Yes inches! That's what really counts for me. So I have put my scale away, or to put it mildly, it's in a time out for not going down! I had even went out an purchased a new scale because it had went for 144.6 to 161.6 overnight! Now that freaked me out. My scale was just fine. It was probably Water weight. Anyways, I am not stressing on scale #'s anymore and am just going to live my life happily and weigh myself periodically. This is where I'm at now. I have about 30 lbs to loss to get to my set goal, and I will get there. I'm only 4.5 months post op and I don't need to waste today worrying about tomorrow. Today is the day that I'm celebrating bc my body looks so much better (with cloths on). Yes I have a muffin tummy or I also call it a raisin top. LOL Stop worrying, your weight will come off, focus on eating healthy and enjoying the new you. Look in the mirror and see the miraculous changes taking place. Don't miss out on today bc your focusing on tomorrow! Have a beautiful day!
  3. My doctor's told us that drinking alcohol is a no no. They reported that our stomachs are greatly reduced and is absorbed at a much faster rate and that people have died with WLS from drinking alcohol. Now was this a scare tactic or what? I don't want to risk it. But on the other hand, I might take a sip here and there. Why not?
  4. We all have had concerned relatives and friends that something might happen in surgery like complications or just us getting thinner and then there would be a change in relationships because we feel better about ourselves and are actually happier. I had to come to my own terms on whether or not to do the surgery. Intuitively I knew that I needed this surgery to improve my over all life style and health. I had just been diagnosed as diabetic. I had watched my dad and brother in-law struggle with this disease and was fearful for my life. I had no energy, I got tired all the time, I also had IBS which was totally a pain in the a....... My daughter would constantly tell me I didn't need this surgery. She wasn't living in my body, I was. I didn't feel good about myself, couldn't shop in regular stores and I looked like the Goodyear blimp! This is the best decision I've ever made for myself. I'd do it over in a heart beat! I would stop stressing on others because we are all totally different. Hand in and I honor any decision you come too. Let us know how your doing.
  5. Congrats! I those NSV moments! I might now be moving fast on losing lbs but I do notice my new blazer fitting a little loser now> Yayyy for all of us!
  6. I live in oc Ca and I went to a support group with Kaiser and the only people there were mostly RnY. I had to take their Options classes and it was also slanted towards RnY procedures. It is so confusing at times. Wish you luck with your support groups. They can be highly beneficial.
  7. We do loose hair. And it is hard to experience it happening. I can't wait until it stops and I have alot of regrowth.
  8. Stop watching the scale! It is going to drive you crazy! The weight will come off with no problems. Relax and enjoy the ride. Keep your diet with protein, veggies, and starch.
  9. I was considering wls before I was diagnosed with diabetes. I had tried to loose weight and had failed. This is the best decision I could make for myself.
  10. Go Girl! You are doing awesome! Keep Rockin that Sleeve!
  11. You should put your scale in a time out!
  12. Yes, we all go through the fear and want to run as fast as we can from it. I hope you don't, it's the best thing I've done so far. LilMissDiva! you are my surgery angel already! Good to see your back.... Missed ya.....
  13. Here's to a healthy more active lifestyle! We deserve it!
  14. favoredone: You have lost 30 lbs! That awesome bc that's weight that won't be coming back! Let's celebrate our successful weight loss. We worked hard at this!
  15. I have been going to a sushi place and ordering a child's portion of teriaki chicken for just $2.00 and I can't even eat it all. It's great. I sometimes will order just an egg and chicken maple sausage for under $4.00. Meatball sandwhich with marinara sauce, cheese, on no bread. It looked beautiful. Couldn't eat most of it, so I brought it home and my DH took it to work for lunch the next day. Works perfect. I have no embarrassment because they are lucky I will eat at their restaurant!
  16. Exercise is a key ingredient to permanent weight loss. I struggle with getting it in. I am contemplating on buying a bike. Just haven't done it yet.
  17. That is success! Keep Rockin your Sleeve and you will get to goal! Rock on!
  18. Mean while, elevate you legs to help bring the edema down. Let us know what the doc says please.
  19. It might be a good idea to eat less. Eat slowly until you fill the almost full sensation. You will be more comfortable.
  20. Great! A new NSV for the guys and their ladies! Have fun with um. LOL
  21. Caffeine makes us hungry. It's also an irritant for our stomach lining as stated above. I tend to avoid caffeine due to not wanting to get hungry.
  22. Ay 2 weeks out i would have never been able to get 1/2 cup in my stomach. I was still swollen and had difficulty getting liquids in. But everyone's sleeve's different. I agree with Lissa and the 2 rules she gave. They are important and it also decreases the fear of stretching our sleeve.
  23. Yep, the last 20 lbs will be the hardest. Hope I can keep focused and increase my exercise by then. LOL
  24. CONGRATS! I am so happy for your success and wishing more success in the near future with new NSV's!
