  1. This is really stressful to have a leak for ever. I'd talk to your surgeon. He/she will need to repair it. Hang in there
  2. Just do what the surgeon directed you to do. You will be fine. CONGRATS!
  3. It's frustrating to have to deal with the stress ofmoving and on top of that having to stay in a motel with 1 little ones. You will be fine and make great choices. You are rocking your sleeve!
  4. I was just dehydrated and needed an iv. Lesson learned. I have drank 60 ounces today and will drink more. For a while I've been struggling with fatigue And a feeling of heaviness and so it's from being dehydrated. Even stopped weight loss. So time to drink my water to cleanse my body.
  5. My surgeon said not to lift anything over 10 lbs. I could walk all I wanted. Actually they wanted. Us to walk for 30 mins.
  6. Yep it's a big learning tool. What an ouch! I am quite embarrassed by it too lol
  7. I had. Some denial going on here. I thought since I was six months out with low blood sugar, my A1C being at 6. I could eat candy. So for a while I was eating mini candy bars. Not just 1, but 3. I was dehydrated and since I was in urgent care, I asked the doc to test my A1C and he ordered it. Well, the results came back and instead of my A1C decreasing, it went up to 6.3. My conclusion is that my diabetes is in remission and I can not be eating sugar. It's toxic. I know that I am addicted to sugar and it's my curse. I can not have 1 tiny bite of it. It's evil! So bad was I. I really need to control this!
  8. I have been really bad with eating candy for the past week. I had blood work and my A1C went from 6.0 to 6.3. I am so mad at my self. No more candy. My son's girl friend gave me some of my favorite mini cadbury eggs. Now I am going to have to get rid of them.
  9. Thank you for all your replies. I am doing much better today. A little cramping in my calves. I am increasing my fluid intake. This is a life time change. Let us Rock our sleeves to the max. LOL.
  10. I have a ww scale and it's a close as can be. I'm very happy with it.
  11. If your hungry, then have some soup or pureed foods. I personally liked pudding that was sugar free and yogurts. They filled me up. As PDXman stated, don't worry about the calories at this point, it practically impossible to go over the limit. Sit back, take a deep breath, and relax. You are doing fine.
  12. You have regained your youth! LOL You really look great! Keep Rockin!
  13. This is so funny! CONGRATS! I love these NSV's!
  14. It is totally gas! You are gassy! LOL It will get less and less as time goes by. Enjoy the gurgling noises. They will soon be gone. LOL
  15. IT is exciting to get a new body! You will have so much more energy and have fun dressing yourself up in cloths that are also flattering. LOL Try not to over think it and take it one step at a time. Enjoy each day as it goes by. Soon you will be standing in front of the mirrow with much slimmer and healthier body. You will love the results. Congrats on your surgery date! You will rock that sleeve.
  16. You are in surgery right now and I know that you are doing well. CONGRATS on your new journey and please let us know how your doing. Keeping a spot warm for you on the BIG LOSER'S BENCH next to us!
  17. Along with bumping up the calories, drink a lot more water. You need more water due to your working out! Keep it up and switch it around. Keep your body guessing. Eat proteins, veggies and little starches in this order. This should help.
  18. You need to measure your food out to avoid having to result to unhealthy tactics. My surgeon's office wants us to take a bite every 10 minutes and the least amount of time to eat is 45 minutes. When I calculated this out, it came to 5.5 bites. So I try to keep within that range. However, I struggle with the 10 minute rule. I hate when my food gets cold, even when I keep it in a tortilla warmer, so I just eat about 6 bites and I don't have any problems like this. You can do this and will be grateful with the results.
  19. Actually, testerone is typically given in a gel too. There are injectables and creams. It is extremely important to follow up on the low testerone because it has a lot to do with your sex drive also. CONGRATS! This shouldn't interfere with your VSG either.
  20. CONGRATS! You are now able to shop in the NORMAL stores! LOL It's this fabulous? Love it! Keep Rockin your sleeve my dear.
  21. So glad that you've joined us! CONGRATS!
  22. I'm 6 months post op and ended up with dehydration. I got up this am and my SIL called and asked if I could go to the hospital and stay with FIL because he was extremely agitated after his surgery. So I said yes, got up ate Breakfast and went to the hospital. I was standing there next too him and he was agitated, scared, wanting me to take him home, he felt trapped. I remember standing next to his bed and I got so dizzy like a vortex was coming down upon me. Everything started getting dark and heavy. I told FIL I needed to sit down because I was feeling dizzy. I don't think he understood me. Sitting there I felt embarrassed and finally said something to his nurse. I didn't know what was going on with me. I started getting clamy on my back and chest. I got really pale and I had to go to the bathroom really bad. I had someone walk with me to the bathroom. When I got back to the room I was doing a little better. So I decided to call my son and have him pick me up. He did and then took me to Kaiser urgent care walk. At Kaiser they did 3 EKG's, sitting, standing, laying and my blood pressure was low. The doctor ordered some blood work, did a neurological test, and administered some IV fluids. I started to feel much better. Apparently, I really need to make sure that I get enough Water every day! the nurse reminded me that caffeine causes dehydration too. the good news is, I don't drink anything with caffeine, but I have been eating a little more chocolate lately. However, I can not tolerate crashing from dehydration. So I will be focusing more on fluids than food. My hunger is probably from not getting enough fluids. This was a big giant lesson. Have you experienced any dehydration? If so what was it like for you and how did you cope with it?
  23. Just keep it simple. focus on protein first, veggies, and some starches. You will do just fine. Make sure to get you water in. Dehydration sucks.
  24. Congrats! Glad your here now!
