  1. CONGRATS on your upcoming date in Mexico. My thoughts will be with you>
  2. Hi Lisa, this is a great site to get info and support from. Pretty much everyone on this site are caring and supportive. Welcome.
  3. You have rocked that sleeve! Great job!
  4. I am finding myself dehydrated every morning and have to start really drinking my water. I get in at least 64 oz if not more. It my struggle but worth. I did experience a lot of dryness at first but it has cleared up at 8 months post op.
  5. So happy you only have one incision site. I didn't know about this until after I had my procedure. But I love my sleeve and I love my skinniness.
  6. I am so happy for both of you! CONGRATS!
  7. Cataracks if I'm heard that if our excess skin is causing us pain or rashes that our insurance might cover that procedure. This might be something that could help with a panni.
  8. These are great things to consider, but overall, if there is a problem, I would just have to go to the ER and be treated. I will have to check into what my insurance company will cover. I know that if I had the sleeve in Mexico, Here I would have to go to the ER for any complications and my PCP had told me that if I went to Mexico that he could do the follow ups. But I had the surgery here bc my insurance company paid for it. This is a dilemma to thin about.
  9. It is had when we have a chemical embalance and the meds we take affect our sexual desire. But it sounds like you really need to take the 60mg to help with the chemical embalance for awhile. It won't happen over night. It will take time. But it take time. Don't rush into getting off the antidepressants at this point in time. I miss the cheerful you and please don't listen too other's when they voice their concerns that your weight loss is too rapid. They are reacting to a fear that they have. Are you taking your supplements? Make sure your are because they are very important. Oh and by the way, I am a qualified person that can give this information.
  10. CONGRATS! You have made a great choice! Keep it up!
  11. Those are good questions to have the information from. You can do another surgery if needed, but can gain wait ofter that procedure is done. So is there any way you can try going back to the basics and eat protein first and veggies? It would be worth a try. Also, look into what emotional eating is and work on catching yourself when your eating from emotions and not real hunger. Maybe getting into counseling could help you identify and stop the triggers to eating when emotional.
  12. I will be getting plastics but when I look into pricing here is the US, I'm astounded. I will be going to Mexico! There surgeons are just as good as our surgeons.
  13. Start using your legs to scoot yourself around. It is a lot less painful on your tummy.
  14. DITTO thaT! Great job Rockin your sleeve!
  15. There are a lot of posts here where numerous people have lost over 130 lbs. You can search for those posts and that will give you a lot of information.
  16. BTW, this is totally normal to be freaking out and second guessing ourselves.
  17. Actually, my skinniness has given me some more confidence. I have a really good life with a loving husband that loved me at 223 lbs. I have wonderful children that are grown up and some wonderful loving rescue pets that love me to death! I also was contemplating this procedure but pushed for it because I had crossed the line of pre-diabetic to diabetic. I had decided that I wanted to be healthier, and that I really didn't need to eat a lot of food. Since the surgery, my blood sugar is within goal and my cholesterol is pretty much at normal. I have so much more energy to give to my family and other now. I am still the same person I was before losing the weight. I love my skinniness and would have the surgery again in a heart beat. It is a big adjustment to make, my biggest struggle is drinking water. It is such a hard job. But it is worth it! I hope you make the best decision for you.
  18. Can't wait for u guys to join us. It is really hard to ne patient. I Jusy kept busy and celebrated the end of the old me and started making changes to healthier eating habits and exercising more. I worked at not thinking about how scared I was. I told myself I will be fine.
  19. It won't help to worry about, see how it goes and see if it shrinks. If it doesn't then talk to ut surgeon. Don't let him out of ur room until ur satisfied with his answer. Don't be afraid to Speak up it's important! U can do this.
  20. Ur husband says there's nothing wrong with h? This is a time to take care of u. Like someone else has said here, u are going to make a great change in ur life and will be experiencing a shift I'm what u want and how u let him treat u. ;$
  21. Char, I really don't want to ever eat 3/4's of a sandwich again. That sounds like too much food for my tummy! I remember the doc at our orientation saying that it would take an hour to eat 1/2 a sandwich. i remember calculating that out to be 5 bites. They also said we can only take a bite every 10 minutes. However, I struggle with eating this slow, so I'm constantly working on this.
  22. Wow, your hubby is a total ****! He's not supportive of your decision to have surgery? He sounds like he's hasn't fallen very far from the apple tree. This would be a great time to seek marriage counseling so that he can be a better support to you and not sabotage your efforts to loss this excess weight. Just thoughts and recommendations for future successes in your life!
  23. Ensure sounds really good with only 5 grams of sugar!
  24. Thanks Nancy, I just changed it the other day.
