  1. OMG! Isn't it awesome to be successful? Love the NSV'S!
  2. U will do fine. All the things you mention are concerning, but I have had no problems with anything so far. The things I can do is ride a bike. Go walking! Sway when the wind blows me. I can gulp Water. I can buy really cute cloths for my skinny body now. And they are so cute. I am more confident. Oh I can't do a tough mudder though! Those people are tough! Actually I can, but I chose not too. LOL These are all important things that change our life for good.
  3. Get it fixed any way you can! If it's the gastric bypass, then that it is. You don't need to be suffering anymore. It is kinda scary the thought of just cutting it out.
  4. Chrysallis: I started with a low BMI and I have done really well losing my weight. I had my surgery through Kaiser in OC and the surgeon wasn't concerned whether I had a weight gain or not. In fact they were more concerned I didn't meet the criteria for surgery with a lower BMI. It worked out for me, I had diabetes and high chloresterol. So I really know that you are in good hands. CONGRATS!
  5. Kathy, you always make we laugh! Thank you for the beautiful gift! Amom, keep up the walking and I'm glad you feel great.
  6. You have a lot of head hunger...... this is the worst, and at 8 months post op, I am learning more about my head hunger. It is really hard to get it under control at times. I try to just have a little of it if possible, but I don't really need it, I'm not hungry, but my head in ruminating on a certain food. It never really tastes as good as I remember it to taste. There are times when I just don't loose any weight to at 4 weeks out. My stomach was still somewhat swollen and plus there's the stall that happens around this time. It's your body needed to adjust itself in size. It will happen, and you will loose a lot more weight, and you will have more stalls. No problem, you will get there. Eat healthy, Protein, protein, and fluids. Maybe some veggies too. Keep the carbs low and Proteins lean. Make sure your taking your Vitamins.
  7. I really like that your looking at this behavior. If you have a compulsion to buy that crap, then when you get home, throw it in the trash and have a healthy snack like fresh fruit or a protein drink. You can do this. It is really important that you seek therapy to help with this compulsion. In therapy, you can learn new coping skills to deal with your triggers to eat crap! BTW, go through your house and trash all unhealthy food ASAP. Get on a path of healthy eating and become compulsive about that. you can do this, you just need some extra help from a professional.
  8. Can you call the patient advocate? the squeaky wheel gets serviced much quicker. I'd keep calling them every day if I have to so that they get so annoyed, they will call and find out what the hold up is. Better yet, try calling your surgeon and ask him. because the bottom line is, $$$$$. Keep at emmmmm!
  9. So much gas! Can you use gas x strips? Anywhoooooo, it will soon be a distant memory in the past! Congrats and welcome to The BIG LOSER'S BENCH! :0
  10. I'm jumping up and down for you! I want to join you in very short period of time and then I will start maintenace! Yay for Julie!
  11. The only pain I felt was when getting in and out of bed. But if you use your legs to scoot getting up and down, there is very little pain. BTW, it's mostly discomfort.
  12. Sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the info. BTW, I went out an bought (ebay actually) some really awesome beautiful dessert plates and bowls that are just the perfect size. Helps me with portion control. Also, I will eat while on the computer and try to take mindful bites when eating. It's really difficult when eating with family. They eat so fast and such hugh portions.
  13. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Your on your way! Let us know how your daing.
  14. This sounds really yummy! thank you for sharing!
  15. Oh yeah, I do have that issue at times. I'm not sure what to do and am looking for some answers also. I have used Colace but worry about diarrhea and getting dehydrated. I wake up every am feeling somewhat dehydrated. I get in more than 64 oz of fluid in the day. Would like any suggestions for this problem also.
  16. It's really hard to be dependent on others. It friend doesn't feel great about letting u down but is also s ares for herself right now. She might not be emotionally available and would ne a disservice to I and ur toddler. I would talk with her daughter about helping u after the surgery. Maybe pay her for helping. This is just a bump in the road and u will make it.
  17. Raven lost 6 lbs and that is great! Wow within a week. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy for Raven!
  18. You will get to your goal and that's all that matters. The best way to reach goal is to stick to eating proteins, proteins, proteins, and veggies as much as possible. Keep the cars really low and avoid bringing any junk food into the house. If it's not in the house then you won't eat it. If other family members are bringing it home, sit down with time an ask them to help you in your weight loss by not bringing those foods home. You can do this and the weight will fall off.
  19. Try not to think about. Live today and keep your self very busy. You will be nervous and scared and that's so normal. You will excel on this phase of the diet and it is the hardest part. I went all the way not believing I was going to have the surgery until waking up after the surgery. You will Rock!
  20. I'm confused. Where we having a contest or is this the BIGGEST LOSER Game on TV? I must have missed the boat! LOL
  21. Can your surgeon write an appeal letter? Sometimes insurance companies play games by dening procedures at first. Don't give up hope, there's always self pay. i know a lot of people who chose to go to Mexico and have had no complications. These are options. Let us know how your doing.
  22. You are doing great! CONGRATS! Enjoy the new you and all the compliments your getting from friends and family!
  23. This is absolutely amazing! CONGRATS! Keep Rockin that Sleeve!
  24. Are you wearing your binder? I had stopped wearing my binder and my stomach where it was taken out would get a horrible pain. When I put the binder on ond wore it, my left side started feeling a lot better. It's worth a try. Good luck and hope it's simple? Do you have any medical insurance through your spouse's work? If so, you could go to the ER or urgent care and see a doc there. Check it out if you do. That would take a lot of the stress off.
  25. Wow, you've loss 47 lbs! That's great! So happy for you! And yes, you have a stall and this is normal for everyone. and we do fluctuate on the scale going up a couple of lbs and then all of a sudden, bam, it's gone down again. You are not done losing weight, your body is adjusting in inches right now and getting ready for the next round of weight loss. You are doing great and weight loss will not happen over night. But it would be nice if it did! hang in there and keep up the good work.
