  1. Being dehydrated is no fun. When I feel dehydrated and have less urine output, I go to Kaiser and get an IV. Also I start drinking G2 Gatorade which is very helpful.
  2. That is fantastic news you have! Hopefully you can get both done at the same time. So happy for you!
  3. I bought the orange at GNC and can't stand it so i didn't buy anymore.
  4. Actually I can fluctuate between days about 3 to 4 lbs. It is frustrating, I will weigh in at 149 lbs today, and tomorrow I will weigh in at 146 or 150. So I really need to weigh myself l time per week but since I'm doing the maintenance thing, I see a lot of fluctuation.
  5. It took about 6 months with Kaiser OC. I had to get a referral from my primary, attend an orientation, get scheduled for 12 Options classes, do numerous tests during the course of the options class, and schedule an appointment with the surgeon. Such a long process but well worth it.
  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It way past the time to take your life back! Congrats!
  7. I just asked my PCP for a referral and he said yes. I had a low BMI but was diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol. The truth is, if he wouldn't refer me, then I would have found another PCP that would. Talk to the doc with honesty and see what happens. You might be really surprised. Tell the doc what you have tried for losing weight so he/she can document it. Oh and tell him you've been researching the different wls. In fact, I was telling my PCP that I was thinking about going to Mexico for the surgery. That might of helped. It will happen, trust in yourself.
  8. Congrats on your date for your sleeve! It will be here before you know it.
  9. I have always taken a few sips with my meals. It's such a habit.
  10. For some reason it hasn't posted. I am going to try again. Am-I-Hungry-Bariatric-Surgery-Workbook-Key-Concepts.pdf
  11. Hi, I was just reading a topic on head hunger and I ran across this in my email section so I thought that I would just post it here. I struggle with eating when stressed out and emotional eating. I haven't read the info yet but am afraid it might just be an advertisement. If it is, there's still no harm in sharing this. Please enjoy.
  12. Congrats and soon you will be a member of the BIG LOSER's CLUB! Congrats and if you have any questions or fears, please feel free to ask.
  13. Hi Chris, Welcome to VST! Soon you will be a full member of the Big Loser's Club! LOL If you have any questions, please feel to ask. Dorrie
  14. I had a problem where drinking water my stomach would hurt. Then I mixed some water with G2 Gatorade and I was able to drink a lot more fluid without the discomfort. It worked for me.
  15. Sometimes we learn our lessons the hard way! I have for sure. Sometimes I forget I had the procedure and realize when I'm eating. Thank goodness I don't experience any bad side effects. I wish I did though, that would make me think twice. LOL
  16. That's a fabulous transformation!
  17. OMG! I thought that I was the only one that went to the dark side! I have become such snob when it comes to eating now. I even get angry at my hubby for making bad choices at dinner and not wanting to share. I can't help (actually I don't want too). yayyyyyyyyyy!
  18. I eat chicken, pork, beef, dairy products like milk and cheese, sf pudding, cottage cheese, lots of nuts. It is important to get in some veggies too. I love beef jerky, yummy! I drink Premiers Shakes from costco or sam's club.
  19. I was told that I could never use a straw again but found out that at 8 months out I used a straw with no problems at all. In restaurants, I might take a few sips of water but nothing more. I was actually able to get more water in when I used a straw.
  20. I love the premier shakes and it has like 30 grams of protein. But usually, I don't really focus on how much protein bc the majority of the food I eat is protein. I'm always over my protein amounts.
  21. Wow, you are totally stressing on this! you are not necessarily going to have nausea or that great level of pain after the surgery. The doc will assess and send you home with the necessary meds to assist with any after affects. Just relax, take a deep breath and it will happen and be over with. Take 1 step at a time. I get grossed out with eating pureed food so I didn't. I at a lot of soft foods like yogurt, sf puddings, etc. After the surgery the stomach is so swollen we can't eat that much anyways. Just a couple of bites at the most. Your surgeon's office will give you the stages of food and what you can eat, and what you can't eat. it will be fine. CONGRATS on your decision to join our club.
  22. LMAO! Isn't that a great feeling! Congrats!
  23. I am at 10 months out and am astonished at how much I can eat now. I'm trying to reel myself back in and eat proteins and veggies. Last night I ate all the meat out of a taco that was loaded with carne asada and pico de gallo. I didn't eat the tortillas. Sometimes I want to eat all day long, especially under stress and am bored. It does scare the hell out of me.
