8 Months Post Op
Thanks guys. That is a great idea about the polish. I do get the munchies when bored. I have been doing great this week so far. The exercise was haulted a little bit because I got a tattoo on my foot and it is still healing. I have been behaving in the eating department. I am really feeling like this feel might be the one that does the trick. It will be a week tomorrow since my third fill. I am thinking that it might be just rigth or maybe just a .5 cc more and I will be golden. I have been measuring my portions and eating very very slow. Also, sticking to Protein and veggies. My usual shake in the morning and I have been good. So...I am going to weigh myself on Friday and see what the results are of my week. I having a feeling I am back on track!!! Yay!! ME!!!!

Did Anyone Not Lose Until After 1St Fill?
I just got my thrid fill this week. i must say that it is definately a learning curve. I too thought that the weight would be just falling off of me. Which I don't know why I thought this because that is exactly what I didn't want to happen. That is the reason I chose the band and not a bypass. I feel that the rate of weight that you lose is a healthier rate with the band. I do think that sometimes you sit and read these boards and get your hopes up and your expectations are very high. So, when your journey is not like everyone else's you get a little down on yourself and maybe even your band. Me being one of those people. This third fill i feel like I am finally getting some where. I am feeling resistance more and more. I also think it really depends on if your being active or not. It your just doing diet I think the results are going to be slower than if your doing diet and exercise....of course. Just try to stay positive and remember that it might be a long, hard road but, if you keep at it, it will be a great journey in the end.

8 Months For Me
It's been 8 months since i got my lab band. Dec 16th. How is everyone doing/?? I think that I could be doing better. I have only lost a total of 30 pounds and gain back 4 last month. I am just feeling like need more in my band. I just got filled yesterday. I now have 6cc in my band. But, I do have a larger band. I know that the last 6 months I have had a lot going on and have been a little stressed so I am contributing my lack of weight loss to that. I know I should have any excuses but, it was alot going on. i started a new position at my job, I have been studying for a certification test, and dealing with buying and moving into a new home. That alone was a big ball of stress. So, as I sit here writing this on my 8 month anniversary. I have decided that I am going to kick my butt back in to gear and plan on getting everything back on track. So, at my 1 year anniversary in December I can have something to be proud of.

8 Months Post Op
Well, today is my 8month anniversary of being banded. I have lost a total of 30 lbs but, the last mont I gained about 4 lbs back. I had my third fill yesterday and hoping that this will get me losing again. I feel like I am getting close to the green zone but, not sure. I am trying not to be frustrated with myself and the band. I have to keep reminding myself it is not the bands fault. It is me. I control myself. I am the one that makes the choices that I do. The last six months have been crazy. I started a new position at my job, I was studying my butt off for a certification test, and We moved into a new house. So, I have been a little stressed. So, I contribute some of my down falls to that....that and laziness. I So, I decided that I have got to get my butt in gear and do this. I really think that the band is just a tool that helps you it is not a cure. You are still going to have those crazy thoughts about food. It is just a tool to help you control yourself. I am thinking about getting a trainer. I really need to get in the habit of working out. I know if I did this I would truely see results. So...No more laziness!!! I am back on track and ready to kick some butt!!! No EXCUSES!!!! My one year anniversay of the band is in December and it's my birthday too. So...my gift to myself is to accomplish what I set out to do!!! Happy 8month anniversary to me!!!

Liquids After Getting A Fill.
Just had my third fill yesterday. My doc is very persistant about the liquids for two days. It helps your stomach adjust. He also said that your stomach will become swallon. He suggested cool liquds and to easy back into foods. Like soft foods first. . I am looking forward to seeing if this fill put me in the green zone. if not I think I am very close.

3Rd Fill Today
I go in for my 3rd fill tomorrow. I can't wait. i feel like this might be the one that puts where I need to be. I have not been doing to well. i have only lost about 25 to 30 lbs since December when I got my band. I was hoping to be at about 50 by now. Don't get me wrong...the band has been doing a good job. It's me that is not been doing so well. Laziness has been my problem. Laziness and stress. I had started a new positon at work, studying for a certification exam and moving all in the last six months. Those are all just excused though. I could of done so much better. I am just trying not to beat myself up and move on. Move on to just doing better. So, this fill he will probably just do 1cc and i think that will put me at either 6 or 7 cc. I have a larger band though. I might see if he will do 1.5 cc. I feel like that might do the trick. I just feel like I am close to the green zone. I get full faster but, there are times that I feel like I am eating way to much. I want to get to where I notice a big difference. Anyway, enough rambling. I am happy to be back on the board too. I have been slacking on visiting. I think that the support I get from here will really help me get in the right zone. Can't wait till tomorrow. Just to see how it goes. Best wishes everyone!!!

Fitbit
Mmmmm....I never heard of the fitbit and now I am going to have to look into it. I think I might want one too.

Swimming
If your incisions are healed up you should be fine. Even if it is healed up I would clean it really well after getting done in the pool, hot tub, steamroom, or sauna. Better to be safe.

Soda Questions
I was a huge diet coke drinker before my band. I gave it up with my pre op diet. It was hard the first three days but I don't really miss it. I have tried to drink it and only had a few sips. I had some diet Dr. Pepper. It was tooo sweet. I could only drink like two sips. I feel like it is just healthier to not drink it. I am sure some once in awhile it will be fine.

How Many Cc's In Your Band???
I go tomorrow for my first fill and anxious to see how much my doc fills it. I am not sure what his normal procedure is. I am hoping that I feel at least a little restriction. Haven't had any problems at all with my band so far. Got my fingers crossed for my appointment tomorrow. This post was a great help in giving me an idea of what to expect tomorrow.

Unrealistic Weight Goal ??
i had this problem too...When I first went to my doctor he asked me what weight I wanted to get to. I said I would love to get to 160 one day but, for now I want to set a goal of 200. He said Why? I said because 160 seems unbelieveable. He said to set my ultimate goal and then a have small goals before reaching the ultmate goal. That way i feel like I am accomplishing a goal. So..right now my goal is to lose 40 pounds. then we will go from there. Slow and steady is what I like about lap band. i look forward to the day when I can say " you haven't seen me skinny"

Jeans
I think I wore jeans the next day. I just made sure that they were a little loose around the waist and wouldn't rub my incision. I only have one pair of sweats and the rest are scrub bottoms and jeans. I must say the first couple of days the scrub pants were more comfy.

Full Bar Shakes
Anyone try Full Bar shakes??? i just got them on clearance at Meijer the other day. I got the chocolate silk. It was pretty yummy. I drink either the adkins shakes or meijer brand slim fast for my Breakfast on the way to work. I am thinking I might be switching to Full Bar. 15g Protein 120 calories 3g fat 12g carbs I think they are about 6 to 8 bucks regular price. I got it on clearance for 3 bucks...Great deal and they were really yummy.

Eating More Than I Thought After Lap Band Surgery
Totally feel the same. I feel like I am eating to much. Even though I have been tracking my calories and intake and still at or below 1100 calories. I am not losing and not gaining so that is a good thing. That is what my doctor told me what would happen. That the first couple weeks after surgery I would lose and then it would slow down. Which is exactly what happen. I am getting my first fill next week and look forward to having more rescriction.
