  1. I have seen posts about starting over with 3 days of liquids. Seems to shrink pouch a bit. I don't personally know about that but please read others who discuss this. Glad you have a dr to work with
  2. Please read some forums and posts. Lots of people have had ups and downs .... There are also some "reset" ideas from some seasoned bandsters I think This is a great site to help with ideas, sorrows, laughs and inspiration. Please let us know how you are doing. Keep trying and reading and maybe set a dr appt? The most common ideas here are protein, water, exercise and awareness from what I see posted Best of luck
  3. I am thrilled to see such positive responses! Often people seem to use these forums to emphasize the complications and revisions, yet not one of us would trade our banded life today.. What a great endorsement for the weighty (ahem) issues we have all gone through!...Physical and mental metamorphosis. Many responses were from seasoned bandsters.... (All are so truly welcome... )But years down the road it is a different path than that excitable honeymoon phase ( we all seem to have that golden year or so) and I appreciate hearing your stories. It helps me daily. Please keep posting about life
  4. I really want to be me. Might sound silly or smug. Not intended to be I would have liked to changed habits at a younger age so one of my sons would not be dealing with being overweight That would be a perfect world
  5. I would do this journey all over again... At a younger age. I would consider VSG as I have seen and heard great things. Please post your opinion. I believe Lots of people are interested Thanks
  6. I am so happy to find a group of WLS (pre and post) who share great stories of the literal ups and downs of this journey! It Took some searching, but at least 40 people show up each month! It is inspirational to hear different paths we are all wandering down. Although there are not many lap banders (VSG seems to be in favor) we all share commonalities with weight issues. Just grateful .., just like with this site. It helps me, so thanks to all who contribute.
  7. New version jumps and freezes each time I visit. Please try to fix this. Won't be on as much. Very frustrating
  8. freezing several times a day. Frustrating. Returns me to app page. Jumps a lot. Sigh
  9. I'm gonna hop on the prune juice wagon and see if it helps. Thanks. I get lots of good suggestions here and I really appreciate it. It feels Like the only spot I can hear this info
  10. So glad to see veterans post about the fickle band. One irritant can stop me for 24 hrs. Nexium... Hot tea... Any other ideas to calm a restless band?
  11. I would at least try some hot tea or hot broth to get fluid and perhaps help calm things I find this sometimes helps me. Good luck. Hope your dr has some answers too
  12. Kyrickchick. You have been through so much! What a rough patch that life had you on. I so hope you can get what you want. And that includes your desire for WLS. I think it can change your life. And it sounds as if things have to get better Thanks for helping me with this new widowhood. I truly underestimated grief. I had lost my dear mom years ago. But never could understand this depth. Sending caring thoughts
  13. I am grateful to read others posts on this journey. It truly helps to see others discuss daily up and downs Glad to be here .. Especially on those rough days
  14. Thank you I do feel a bit better. Some kind words helped. I will put one foot in front of the other. This site does help me and I am grateful
  15. I too am striving to stay positive and engaged. Really hard. Widowed 4 months ago and I just want to hide and mourn privately. Not finding much joy anywhere. Just sad. Work ,work out and home. Not laughing a lot. The kids coming to visit helps. But it is not their job to heal me. Seeing a counselor. Still just really sad. Everyday. Lots of crying Thanks for listening On the bright side. Weight the same or a bit lower. 7+ years out. That is all I can think of that is good right now
  16. Ps. Hot tip. Put them on from the bottom. Not over your head. Who knew? Thankfully my dear friend with me
  17. I just also bought assets by spanx (body fat sucker inner) at kohls. They had a lot of different kinds. So sorta like buying a bra. I think you need time to try on many some are over bust. Under bust. Legs too or just waist length. Reversible etc. I like how it smooths bra lines. Ok back fat
  18. A west coast cruise would be fabulous. Lots of time and $ to travel to the east coast. But sounds like a fun time. With like minded people. Please keep info coming. Thank you
  19. In the same case of no more chicken breasts for me. Except in soup. Thighs work for me. Who knew? Learn new ways. That is what my band teaches me.
  20. This is a wonderful informative funny ass at times good app. I enjoy it and thank those who contribute!
  21. Ifind the skin of apples, peaches, pears , potatoes etc. Hard to digest and likely to stick. Sadly there is Fiber there. But the price is too high. For me. Good luck
  22. I also believe our bodies don't metabolize the same post surgery ..after the " honeymoon" years later. Many of us eat around 1000 calories a day , if the posts are correct, and that maintains where our weight stabilizes Some a bit higher than we would choose. Some at goal but certainly healthier I hope. With a good dose of exercise thrown in and decent eating habits and water. That may be where we find ourselves, as I do, many years down the bariatric road.
  23. Someone tipped me off about the frozen case at Dairy Queen. (Not the counter)sugar and fat free orange sickles. 60 calories. I save them for a treat
