Confession: Need a reboot
Your life is gonna be what you make it. Do what kick starts you. Go to a dr. Pay for a series of exercise classes. Go a vegetarian cooking class. Whatever helps YOU. No one else can really make those decisions for you. Happy you have the band already. Recommit to it?? Best of luck Ps. Lots of us have veered off track Gotta get back on hopefully !

Grilled Cheese

need help with starting over
I am wishing you good luck. It is a life long journey and sometimes we do better. Sometimes not. There is always time to begin again. This tool can work if we work it right. Let us know how you do

Worst part of the band so far
I find the hardest part is not eating much in the am a protein drink. 1/2a banana. Or maybe a protein bar. It is only after about 2-3 in the afternoon I am thinking about a dinner meal. Works well for me because I work out a couple days around 1-2 and can't work out full. But I am aware the consensus is eating well throughout the day is preferable Just can't eat early

Trouble getting protein in
I try to drink a protein drink. (Costco ) to get 30 grams in by noon. Often a protein bar. I happen to go online and order so I can get a decent protein to calorie ratio. Then later on the day for me a tuna /chicken/ yogurt/string cheese Hope you find what works for you. It is trying to get in 70 grams of protein a day. But worth it!!

What is....
I too tried pineapple juice with no luck. Seems when my band gets irritated it just takes 24 hours or so to stop rejecting everything. Sometimes it seems random. After close to 7 years I am fairly disciplined about water, protein, exercise etc. just once in a while. 1/2 a banana. Or a protein bar starts a chain reaction Anyone else have random bouts of food rejection?

A Question for the Veterans
I agree you need to work with your band. And realize this is a life long commitment I appreciate the band was available and worked for me. Apparently this is not the same for lots of people. I did regain a small amount after the first year however I am so happy to have my weight be low for menopause. I choose not to do hormones and will blame the slight gain on it! Happy and healthy. That's what I like!!

who here has been banded for at least 2 years and has had NO complications?
- Happy to be a veteran bandster
So thrilled to be on this site. Don't usually add much. But knowing I could join seasoned bandsters made me try more. Thank you. Looking forward to more happy years- Weight Gain?
I too am no friend of the scale. I will use one infrequently. But I know my clothing well and seem to always have great weekdays. Weekends are a little challenging. But all good- Would you have WLS again?
Wow. Amazing you have changed your life so much. Happy to see positive answers to this question. Lots of negativity. Don't want that. Happy for us!- First fill and it's a doozy..
Congrats on trying to find the right fill for your body. What a joy to not be so hungry all the time. It is one of my favorite things about being banded. And the point that the weight stays off. I could lose before. But keeping weight loss off was very difficult. Keep going!- For Anyone Debating To Convert To Sleeve
Good luck with your journey phatcat. Hope there is an answer for you. How frustrating it must be. Don't give up. Be proud you are searching for satisfaction. Keep us posted- Allow myself to introduce.....myself.
And very informative. Good luck. Ask away. We certainly have opinions!- Allow myself to introduce.....myself.
Welcome. I find this spot to be comforting, funny- Would you have WLS again?
I'm sure I would. Ups and downs but happy with keeping weight off for 7 years. Didn't know it was possible before. Much happier!- oldest leaving for college
It was a bittersweet time for us with the first at school It was so quiet! More time for the one at home at first. Then he went 100 miles away to college and it was really quiet. My hubby and I adapted. Less mess, -dishes- laundry -shopping but still I miss that time. Now one is getting married. Another new adventure. And yes. Our food addiction cannot fill the void. Somehow we all keep going. And not yo-yo dieting. Sooo happy about that- Foods you can't eat
I have troubles with pasta. Geez and I'm Italian- Have I already entered bandster hell?
You are normal. And this is your new lifestyle. It takes a bit to get used to new habits. Please think of your big picture. Where you will be 1-2-3 years from now. Relax and let the band work with your body. Best of luck- A....private NSV :)
Funny room. You never know what topic will show. But it will probably be personal and funny. Keep it going !!- fell off the bandwagon, trying to get back on
Good luck. This is not a straight line journey But it is better now. A little up and down. I'm better at my food most of the time. Try not to get mad at self when I eat poorly. Just gotta start again. Right???- What is your flight protocol?
I also take protein bars and drinks for flying. Once mine gets irritated if takes a day to calm down and that can mess with a vacation!!- Losing weight but no fun to be around.....
I think it may be a female estrogen thing. Lots if us have experienced shorter tempers. I thought mine was menopause related. But not sure. Better now - Happy to be a veteran bandster
