So, Protein Shakes aren't working for me too well. They are just too thick. I tried mixing orange whey Protein with orange juice but, it was too sweet. So today, I tried something new. I love the iced mocha latte from Dunkin Donuts. I just ordered a medium iced latte, Decaf, skim milk, no whipped cream and added a scoop of dutch chocolate Isopure protein to it. I get in 25 grams of protein and get to sip one of my favorite drinks. This is offically my first NSV!

Alright, so its three weeks post op and im feeling amazing. I definatly still feel a bit of discomfort if I move a certain way, but i was off of pain medication by 2 weeks post op. I feel blessed to say I havent really had any complications with surgery and last week i had already lost..... drum roll please.... 26lbs!! im sure now im atleast 30 down. in two weeks?! my mind cant comprehend it yet. and since last year in march i am down 103lbs!!!!! Im constantly taking pictures trying to see the difference because everyone is telling me how different I look, but i still cant wrap my head around it!
I am fitting into clothes that I havent worn in years! my mom bought pants that were WAY to small a month ago... I tried them on last week and they couldnt close to button yet but i could tell they fit better. I tried those same pants on this morning and they closed!! and they would be comfortable if the waist of them wasnt right on one of my inscision lines. But its so crazy that in that littlle time my body is changing so much so fast. Is my mind ever going to catch up? I feel great, pretty even, but i still was afraid to try on a size 28 with my friend at Lane Bryant yesterday because i didnt want to feel that disappointment of my clothes not fitting... but this morning i made myself try on a size 26 and they fit! its like... i dont know if my mind is ever going to be able to comprehend the changes because they are happening so fast! can anyone offer any advice on getting through this part of this journey? I would appreciate anything!
Other than that I feel amazing! my blood pressure has been almost perfect since surgery, without medications!! Before i was on two medications and i still couldnt control it. its like a miracle.. I am so happy that i made this decision. I cant wait to see what the future holds for me!

Wow good for you! I was sleeved the day after you, 3/15, and so far am only down four lbs. Not really that concerned about it, four pounds is four pounds, and I also feel pretty good.

I can't wait to wear skinny jeans with high heel boots (being lighter will help them not kill my feet anymore!) With a cute fitted blazer & tons of accessories!! And a pencil skirt

Yay Susie!! Tomorrow you will get your place on the Losers Bench, right next to all us skinnies. We always have more room for others because we all lose weight and move right on over.
My advice: PATIENCE #1 POSITIVITY #2 PERSEVERENCE #3... AND
Sip, sip, sip... Walk, Walk & Walk some more - and be sure to get plenty of rest. You will need it for proper healing. Oh, and don't forget to do your breathing exercises!!

I haven't been on this site in awhile and I'm happy that I have came back to it. On April 5th it will be one year since I have had my surgery. Coming up to my sleeve "anniversary" so much has changed in my life. In just shy of a year I have lost 135 pounds and am happier then I could have ever imagined. Whenever anyone asks me o are you happy with what you did I tell them with out hesitation yes I am. I feel great I can do things I never thought I could do I can run not have to worry about not being able to fit in a small space these are just some examples. The best feeling in the world was when being out with my friends one of my friends picked me up and carried me and in the same night two of them saying "sit in the middle your the smallest of us all " never have I thought I would be the small one or the one being carried. Hurt from my personal experience I am so happy with my decision I made if I had to do it again I would with out a doubt. Once and awhile I still feel like I am in the same body sometimes it is hard to realize I have physically changed so much but other times I see myself and get overwhelmed with how different I am and how happy I am with myself!!! Attached are pictures of my transformation during the one year time

This is me rite before surgery then at -60 then me currently

This is me currently with some friends

This is me before and after Before was taken a week before surgery after taken 11 months after surgery

    11 months after surgery

Two months before surgery. At this time I already knew I was going to have the sleeve

    11 months after

5 months after surgery All I can say is what a change I've had !!!!

Hello everyone, thanks!!! To answer Joseph I can pretty much eat like a "normal" person. When I first had it I could not even eat half of a kids hamburger and now I can eat the hamburger, a few fries and a few sips of whatever. After years you figure out how to cheat or eat more (dry, crunch foods go down really easy) so you have to be mindful of what you put in your mouth. Eat your salad or veggies first for sure and I have not been obviously... I feel great though. I did have to start Rogaine for thinning hair but it's working and it hasn't been a big deal. Unfortunately I have been snacking ALL day. I have days like those but sometimes medications or moods can make you overeat. Zero regrets! My sister had it and three of my friends after seeing my success and no one has ever said they wish they hadn't done it!

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the Syntrax Nectar Cappuccino flavor!! I mix it up with a 1/2 cup of milk and a 1/2 cup of Water in a Blender Bottle and then I pour it over ice. I drink one every morning....it has kept me from going back to coffee!!! You can order sample packets and try several flavors. I buy the big tub of it from Vitamin Shoppe for less than $35.

Never get on here but just checking in reading posts. Everyone has the same concerns, issues but eventually everything turns out fine. I have put on about 15 pounds that I am trying to take off from the 75 I originally lost but not too bad after 7 years. I have the tool to do it I just need to make my mind up! Unfortunately there is nothing that I cannot eat but I will get there. Have never exercised, I know, isn't that terrible! I swear I am going to start though! Just want everyone to know that seven years out it is still all good! No regrets!

My surgery is 8am tomorrow, I can't believe it....trying for over 6 month, it's finally here. I only hope I can stop driving myself crazy tonight. Worried about all sort of medical issues that could arise....a little knowledge is deadly.
On another note, I'm so excited to get some help for my weight issues. I'm 51 years old and I'm dog tired of being obese. I'm looking forward to some of my many future goals...riding roller coasters and planes comfortably, wearing clothes from the "regular sizes", and so many more.
