  1. I'm almost 9 months out and I can eat about a cup of salad at a time....just wait until you are 3 to 4 months out to try it...so you will be pretty much healed when you eat it...
  2. My doc said to wait 18-24 months before evening thinking about a baby.... but like you said..have to find a decent man first... I did have a friend who had her 3rd baby after she lost 150 pounds from RNY....she gained weight from the baby, but as soon as she had her girl she began to walk again and lost most of her baby weight, she's still battling with 15 pounds, but like I tell her, who doesnt have 10 or 15 pounds they would want to lose...
  3. Is this a trick question? I take bites of my food...sometimes big sometimes small, but I eat my food... As long as you chew your food it doesnt matter how big the bite is, you will be fine....
  4. I'm a Texan....thanks Hazel! lol
  5. I honestly dont think the weightloss is as rapid with VSG then with RNY...my friend/co-worker was at goal in 9 months when she had RNY 6 years ago and she lost 160 pounds....I'll be 9 months in March and 2 pounds away from 100 and I have 70 more pounds to lose...
  6. now this is a funny posting....people eat food to live....and as long as we still have over indulgence, and people glorifying food, or and have healthy food cost more than junk food...McDonalds will remain the powerhouse place it is.... funny
  7. Toasted bread goes down way better for me...I can only have 1 slice of whole wheat bread
  8. I got banded in 2005 also...very very little weightloss...I eventually gained the 40 pounds I lost back, plus 20 more....I also developed a pouch over the top of my band...my doc was hoping that it would go down after he unfilled my band, but it shrunked just abit....what he did was started my VSG under where I developed the pouch...which means that my weightloss is a bit slower and I can eat a bit more than the typical patient...I'm just happy to be 98 pounds lost and still losing praise God! I revisied to VSG on 6/11/12 and I'm loving every bit of it....
  9. What is a spring onion?
  10. Oh yeah, that happens all the time when I do a side glance at my reflection....I sometimes have to stop and look...that's really me...
  11. I'm reposting mine...Askbelieverecieve....the only thing I ask is that you have an open jounral....mines is open and I notice that people want support but want to also have a closed jounral...if you want help you need people to hold you accountable
  12. I'll be 8 months out Feb 11th and my NUT has me on 1200 calories a day because I workout 4-5 times a week...
  13. Well I bought the dark chocolate and raspberry....and it was nasty....I threw the other 3 away
  14. A lady in my support group went through this...after our doc stretched her alittle more, she was fine, no worries
  15. too funny...
  16. I started therapy before I had my surgery, on my surgeon's recommendation...I am a revision person, meaning that I've had WLS before and VSG was my second surgery, and he recommended that I go through therapy for extra support....and it has helped....I use my therapy time to really self-examine how I managed to lose and regain 120 pounds in the past....and I'm still a work in progress
  17. Well most people come on here to be validate...esspecially when a person is suffering from complications....so I dont know about your comment about that... and like I said before about rudeness, its relative...but like you said, its your opinion...not everyone have your personality or "decorum" that's society, if you dont like it, become a hermit.... And now I promise to shut the *blank* up now! (see its me being tackful)
  18. well that's not being rude...that's called harassment and you need to report the person to one of the moderators....
  19. I had surgery to get healthy...my goal is to be 170 pounds....and on my 5'2 frame...170 still has me as over weight...but its a heck of alot better than 339 pounds.... I dont think the surgery has boasted my confidence, I've always had high self-esteem...but I can tell you now it takes away my ability to binge eat...I was an emotional binge eater....it was nothing for me to hit burger king, jack in the box and taco bell in one evening because someone pissed me off.... I am still an emotional eater, but I am working on it with therapy...which I have my next session tomorrow... The surgery doesnt clear up the mental issues of being overweight.....that's work you have to do BIG time afterwards....
  20. What you stated is true some people can be more tackful...but in society there are tackless rude people everywhere....what makes this forum any different.... If you are going to post a question in a public forum, you are basically asking society for their opinion...and as a friend of mine told me, opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one... Being rude or even tackless is all relative...just because you think what someone said was tackless, another person can come a praise the person for "tellin it like it is" Its all relative...just like this posting, I can say you are being defensive because I told the truth about people posting stuff that they need to confide in a friend about, not the public....when others can come out and say to you good for you for responding... Its all relative
  21. I think sometimes people forget that when you post on this forum...everyone sees the posts, people you want to respond to your posts and people who you wished looked at your posted and not hit "reply" When you post on here you should be prepared for all viewpoints and opinions... And honestly, some of the questions so people post on here makes me wonder, do you have a friend face-to-face to ask, because the question has nothing to do with VSG or WLS and that people just needs a friend.... Go find yourself a friend and private message them.... Sorry, I'm just an honest person, both on here and in person....
  22. This pic I have of myself on here was taken before surgery....I guess I should put up a recent one...
