Optifast
Opitfast, you almost have to buy from the doctor's office.... Medifast you can buy online or at the nearest Medifast store front....but you are probably better off buying it online because if you goto a Medifast store front, they may not sale to you because you are not a member...

11 Days Post Op - Not Really Getting Full
I'm the same....you will not feel restriction until you start on denser foods....I was able to drink fluids well....now on pureeds I can get in between 4 to 6 ounces, depends on the thickness....refried beans 4oz...cream thick soups maybe 6oz....just take it easy....one night I was eating and wasn't paying attention and before I knew it I had too much and felt the food in my chest, that's not a good feeling at all!

Utterly Frustrated
no, vertical band is different from the sleeve, I had a co-worker who had the verical band done years ago...vertical band is when a doctor goes in and creates a small pouch in your stomach and uses a metal band around the top part of the stomach....but the rest of the stomach stays in tack.... Totally different... Which surgery did you have VBG or VSG??

The Last Time I Ask About Hair....i Promise!
the protien bar I ate before surgery had 12 grams of protein, it was more of a wafer...I'm not crazy about those thick bars....try going to bariatricpantry.com and see what they have...I order my cocoa I drink every morning (15g) from there....

I Was Pissed And Ate Bread
It happened, dont beat yourself up over it....hope you didnt make yourself too sick....but I would evaluate why you ate the bread, what were the feelings behind it, and try to think of something you can do instead, if you ever feel that way again, and you will feel that level of frustration again...its life....

4 Weeks Out From Sleeve- Need Advice!
My family hasn't asked me that question...yet...I was discouraged after seeing people who had their procedure the same day as me and a week out losing 13 pounds and me, 1 week post op I gained 1 pound, it took my aunt to give me perspective. I know once my family start actually seeing me lose weight, they will start asking.... There are so many factors to consider with it comes to weight loss....my cousin who got the Lapband (after I begged her not to) told me, think about it like this, that one or two or 10 pounds you've lost you will not see again, so when someone say, aww, that's it, just say, well I know I will never see those pounds again! Bam come back!

Kind Bars
I saw them on tv last week while I was in the hospital....then I saw a VSG post-op person on you tube talk about them (I forgot her name), I was wondering have anyone on here heard of them and would recommend them for protien??

Anyone Lose All Your Appetite On Your Pre Diet?
I wouldn't say lost my appetite, but by week 3, I wasn't interested in eatting food....I was focused on my procedure....
-
Star Jones
Hell, the surgery saved Star Jones' life...you know that VSG isn't RNY, you've done your homework....if what people say will have a big effect on you, just talk about it to the people who are important to you....the rest can watch later... This is suppose to be a positive process, not a negative one....

How Long After Surgery Do You Need Help? P.s. Just Started Getting Nervous
well, I'm 6 days post-op now.....I was told not to pick -up or stoop to the floor for anything, I can't hold anything that is heavier than a gallon of milk....and I'm not allowed to drive as long as I was taking the prescribed pain pills.... I live alone, but I have family who lives within 5 min of me and they stop by to check on my daily....I actually stayed with my aunt when I was released for about a day...and I've been at my home every since.... I would say you will need someone to be around you for atleast the first week....after that, as long as you have some who can call if you need something should help
