This is what I am afraid of when I return to work next month! I'm currently in therapy and she asked me what was my fear and I told her right now, having to return to work! She recommended while I'm off read Beck Diet Solution....
She also recommended me to list things I can do to reduce my stress without food...so you could try to do that and do those things...

My family hasn't asked me that question...yet...I was discouraged after seeing people who had their procedure the same day as me and a week out losing 13 pounds and me, 1 week post op I gained 1 pound, it took my aunt to give me perspective. I know once my family start actually seeing me lose weight, they will start asking....
There are so many factors to consider with it comes to weight loss....my cousin who got the Lapband (after I begged her not to) told me, think about it like this, that one or two or 10 pounds you've lost you will not see again, so when someone say, aww, that's it, just say, well I know I will never see those pounds again!
Bam come back!

Dr. Sherman Yu of Texas Laparscopic Consultants or his partner Dr. Scarbrough, they both are really good, they that pre-op groups as well as post-op groups for patients to attend

Thanks, I'm 6 day post op and I woke up this morning extremely weak, and I think its because I haven't ate anything really all week....I really wish I could read regular food now, but I'm on full liquids until the 27th....

not everyone does a pre-op...it depends on your starting weight...

I just bought a tub of chocolate protien powder....going to have to try it....thanks!!

I say do what you like, its the only way you will be able to stick with it....you can get great exercise dancing, swimming, or playing sports, you probably worked more muscles than if you walked a treadmill.....

I'm in a similar situation....I'm a couple of years older, 33, still no kids and my only problem is that I'm obese....my suggestion is think about life afterwards...not the first couple of weeks (we know those will be rough) but think about being healthier, active....enjoying life....
My family is still asking me if I'm sure this is what I want to do, and I tell them, the alternative is living a short life, I rather live, thank you....
When I was your age I decided to have the lapband, because I was scared of the whole rerouting thing with RNY...now 7 years later, if taking 80% of my stomach is what must be done to help me, so be it....
Just remember the reasons why you made the decision for WLS, if you haven't write it down....so you can remind yourself of the positive...

well said! People have asked me over and over again if I am scared about having this surgery, my response is "no, what I am scared of is developing high blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiomyopathy and dying at 55, like my mother, now that scares me" You did an awesome job expressing how most of us feel...
Thank you

Make sure you keep your hands busy, doing non-food related things....lol I'm pre-op for sleeve, but remember the liquid phase when I was getting my lapband...just keep busy....
