  1. Good morning girls. Getting ready to head off to work. Then I'm not sure of what I'm going to do. Lots to do but just need to figure out what I want to do first. Jenn, I wonder what is going on with the blisters. I have some of that Aloe gel with pain reliever in it so it really helped out last night. Terri, I bet you must be really excited. I'm wishing you all th luck there is. You will never regret this decision. I love my band. It's just that I'm in need of a fill. Good Luck tomorrow. Kat, glad to hear you had a great weekend. Cindy, good luck with helping out your stepdaughter. I'm sure she is going to appreciate it. Sorry that you won't have internet, that does suck. Michelle, Have fun playing Bunco tonight. I love to play that and wish I can join a group around here. We play a few times at church. So many of you are seeing movies. Looks like I might have to get off my butt and go check some of them out. Only problem is the Popcorn, lol. Have a great day and stay cool where ever you are. Heat index is supposed to be 115 here, yikes.
  2. Owww, Sunburn. :scared2:
  3. Wal-Mart and back. Only cost me $62.00. I'm happy. But have to go back. They only had one set of blinds. But the one I got is up and window is washed and curtains are in the dryer right now. Good day so far.
  4. Morning girls. Kat, have a greta time even if you don't flash. I would but would be afraid that I would knock someone out. LOL. Michelle, What a mess you walked into. Wasn't it bad enough for stitches? Good deal on him fixing your schedule. I still wan to go to Chuckie Cheese. However we have a wedding reception to go to tonight at the local Bass Pro store. There is a restaurant inside where they are having it. They will have food and it is a cash bar. I hope they have lots of seafood. I also have a Papmered Chef party to go to today. I really don't want to go but it's a good friend of mine and she is counting on me to show up. Urrgggg. Not sue I will have time for the pool today. Hubby and I have to go to the store to get new plantation blinds for the 2 front bedrooms. Can you believe both of them have broke. There's a little piece of plastic in the roller part that is broke(designer flaw). So I told hubby we would go to replace them. He uses one of the rooms as the computer room and needs to close the blinds at night. Have a good one.
  5. I got in the pool this evening. OMGoodness. It was wonderful for about 20 minutes, then the clouds rolled in and it got a little too cool for me. But I enjoyed my time.
  6. I love Chuckie Cheese. We have one about 10 miles from here. I take the kids when I can. That's not very often though, they are expensive to buy all those tickets for them.
  7. Hi Terri, so glad that you checked in. We were getting woried about you. OMG, next tuesday is your big day. I remember that time so well. I was so ready to do this. Just remember to do what the Doc says. You may not lose weight at the beginning and that is not unusual. Once you start getting your fillings, that will be when you will start to lose the most weight. Make sure you follow the Bandsters rules, like chew, chew, chew. Lots of water. Lots of water and more water. You'll do good. Keep us posted.
  8. Morning. I'm gonna take off here to go to my walking soon. Wanna get it done before it starts to really heat up. I do some housework after I get back, while hubby is mowing. Later around 1pm I think we are going to head to the hospital to see Randy. Last report is that things are going wonderful and he has woken up. They will monitor him for any brain problems and see how his speech is. We also want to see his brother before he heads back home. After that I'm going to decide if I'm ready for the pool. We'll see if I'm busy or not. If all is calm I may go ahead and get in for a little bit. My actual 30 days is tomorrow, not sure if one day will make that much of a difference. Not like I'm going to swim 50 laps or do aerobics. I just want to get in and float for awhile. Have great day.
  9. Hi girls. Home from work and resting. Wasn't sure what to fix for dinner so I opened a can of tuna and we had sandwiches. Yummy. Tracy, I hope you are enjoying that pool. I still have 2 more days till I can get in ours. I may push it and get in tomorrow. It's really hot here and I'm ready.
  10. Hey guys. Not a good day here today. This morning I got up and went in and laid down on the bed in the computer room. Hubby and I started watching a movie. I told him I would wait to see how I felt and than make a decision on if we were working at the hospital this evening. We turned on another movie and I fell asleep. All of a sudden my phone was ringing and it was my oldest nephew. He was crying and telling me that his dad was on his way to work riding his Harley and that someone hit him. They had taken him to the hospital and he was in Critical Care on a ventilator. I told him that I was on my way and that I would meet him there. He actually came over and rode with hubby and I there. I wasn't sure on what we were going to find when we got there but I braced myself for the worse. We walked in his room and they had sedated him because they had found some bleeding in the brain. He was on a respirator. Other then that you couldn't tell that he had been in an accident. So they said that they were going to do another a CT scan at 3pm to see if the bleeding had changed any. We stayed until they took him. But up to that point all 3 doctors that had come in had told us that all was good. They said that he was responding well and that they would wait 24 hours and then decide to take the respirator out and start taking him off the sedatives. All looked good and we were talking to the 3 kids and telling them that the hard part was coming up. Their dad being off work for about 2 months recuperating was going to be torture on everyone. We had been home about 30 minutes when my nephew called really upset. Seems when they were bringing Randy back from the scan that he suffered a set back. His blood pressure dropped to like 60/40, one of his eyes is fixed and dilated and his heart rate was down to almost nothing. Right now I have 2 five year olds in my living room and I might end up having them all night. My younger sis and her hubby have headed back to the hospital. Luke called and said they were taking Randy in for surgery. They were going to drill some holes in his skull to help relieve the pressure and see if that will help. His brother is flying in from New Orleans and will be at the hospital around midnight. All 3 kids are there and lots of their friends. I had to come home because my back was starting to hurt me. Besides I can watch the kids till they all come home. So if you can, can you keep Randy in your thoughts and prayers and say an extra one for the kids. Thanks. As soon as I know more I will post.
  11. Hey, I'm home from work and feeling pretty good. For some reason I'm having a real good day. Just hope I don't pay for it tomorrow. We are going to wait till the afternoon to decide if we will work at the hospital tomorrow evening. I told hubby I will let him know how I feel. I also told him that we won't make any trips to the Birthing Center, that way we won't have to bring back a C-Section cart. They are big and bulky to push. Other than that it's a real easy job to do. Have a great evening.
  12. Tracy, I read your post and had to step back and think for a little bit. There was so much I wanted to say to you but I needed to make sure I said it right. First, I think you need to go back to your regular Doctor and have a good talk to him about your anti-depressant. It may be that you need to change meds. Find something else that will help you with out you questioning your thoughts and motives. Second, if you take the time to go around this web site and read some of the entries you will see that you are not the only one in the boat. It's a fact of life and a daily battle for not only you and me but for a lot of people. Maybe reading what they have gone thru you will find solice. I know I do. I know that knowing that someone else is walking this path with me makes it easier for me to keep going. I used to think that know one else understood what I was going thru and that I walked this road alone. Now when I go walking and I run thoughts thru my head I remember some of the stuff i have read from everyone and it gives me that extra push and warms my heart that I am not alone. I know that is sad and I never wish this on anyone one but know I'm not alone does help. I have looked at before and after pictures and after they regain pictures. I have looked at pics of people that we used to be friends with and see that they are still struggling. I look at myself in the mirror and see the long road ahead of me. I also see that I'm a strong person and that what I have regained will come off again. I will do it and I know that I have been down this road so many times and I'm gonna keep going down it till my dying day. I'm determined. You are a strong person and you need to take this time to get your priorities right. If you need to exercise than do it. If you need to find a job, then do it. Don't look back and say I wished I had. Get up and do it. Do what is going to keep you going and what is best for you. Because being the best you can be will show Macy that she can also tackle anything in life and meet it head on. You are a hero to me. I cherish every word you type. They are words of wisdom. I take them with me on my walks and when I'm even out just running around. You are not the only one. I absolutely adore everyone that comes here and post. That is why I keep coming here 2 or 3 times or more a day. I find strength in your daily struggle to help me get thru my daily struggle. Kat, Jenn, Cindy Angela, Michelle, Bethany, Irene, Laura, Kelly and eveyone that just pops in to read. You all keep me going and I adore you for it. You all are my heroes. Keep a stiff upper lip, shoes laced and a bottle of water in your hand. Every morning Thank God for a new day and at night Thank God for making it thru another day. Know that you are not alone and that even though we can not drop by your house and have a good talking, that we are just a key stroke away. Just a text away from you. All of us here are here for you and each other. Hang in there girl.
  13. Morning, I'm up early and think I will go take a long walk. It's supposed to get up to real hot today and I think I will get my exercise in early. Besides I traded my early shift today and I will work the late shift. The other girl has a boy that plays sports and she needed to go to something tonight. Kat I used to go every morning and get my mom her coffee, take her to the shower and get her cleaned up, bring her back and put her in the chair while I stripped her bed and put new sheets on. I would then put her in bed and than I would head off to work. I did this not because the nurses didn't have the time to. I did it because I knew this was my mom's routine in the morning. And if mom is happy, then everyone is happy. And the nurses knew it. On the few days that I couldn't get there in the morning, they were so happy to see me after work. lol. Good luck. Tracy, we are your sounding board and are here for you. Let us know what is going on. Have you had your stress test yet? Jenn, how cool of you to go for the firefighting and emt training. That is something I always wished I had gotten into. I'm just not smart enough to learn all that stuff. I have a had time just remembering my CPR training. Good luck to you and I hope you get the chance to get this done. Michelle, how is work going? Any more with the new boss? Terri, what's the news on your procedure? I hope all went well. Hi everyone else. Have a great day.
  14. Tracy, are you feeling any better? I hope so.
  15. Hey, went out to breakfast after work with a bunch f friends, we had such a good time. We do this about every 3-4 months. I actually met these girls when I went to work at Curves. They were there every M-W-F at 6am and we all became real good friends and have remained close all these years. We get together for special occasions and breakfast. Came home and crawled into bed and hubby and I watched a movie, almost. We didn't get to finish it. We had to leave for his eye appointment. Holy Cow, did you know it takes 3 hours to do an eye examine. Home now and resting. We will finish the movie at dinner time tonight. That's may day and I'm sticking to it. The girls at the hospital want to know if I'm coming to work this week. Still don't know. I'll wait till Wednesday and see how I feel.
  16. Morning Girls, Ugh, back to work. Not liking this right now. Too early in the morning for me. Looks like I got used to sleeping in and being lazy. Angela, Lake of the Ozarks is about a 3 hour drive from here. Most of it is Hwy driving but when you get down into the Ozark area of it, it is real hilly with lots of twist and turns and ups and downs. Heads are diffenetly bobbing around. Storms today and the humididty is supposed to be out of control this week. I'm 6 days away from being in the pool. I can hardly wait. I'll check in later. Have a great day everyone. Good Luck Terri. Thinking of you.
  17. Hi guys, we are home and exhausted. What a great time we had. As soon as I go thru the pictures that I took I will post some. Most of everyone spent a lot of time floating in the lake. I was so jealous but it looked like so much fun. Our Uncle was so surprised to see us and I had pictures for him of my parents at his place about 50 years ago. He was so over happy to have them for his collection. This morning we woke up before my sis and BIL did so we took off and went exploring. We drove over the dam and came back and parked and went shopping in some of the novelty shops there. Didn't buy anything but did see a few cute things I thought would look good out on the deck. So we headed back to the Motel and they are up, showered and dressed and ready to go. We take off and head back a different way. This road was more winding and roller coasting, so it was very hard on the back. I was really glad when we were thru with that section of the hwy. About 6 years ago hubby and I were driving thru that same spot and there was this Amish place that was selling outdoor furniture. We stoppped to look and ended up buying a 2 seater divided glider for the deck. Love it, Love it, Love it. The most used piece of furniture we own. Hubby and I sit in it all summer long. So we are going by this place and I'm telling my sis about it and she makes a u-turn and we head back to it. We are walking around looking and I see the neatest wood table for out on the deck. It has a tag on it that says $69.00. So I ask her if she thinks that if I offer the guy maybe $55. would he take it. She said it would be worth a try and I asked her if she would ask her hubby to do it. He's one of those guys thats a real good talker. So he goes in and offers the $50. for it and they guys says "Sold". I was so excited I ended up buy a few other things, lol. However, there was this outside tall chair that I went over and sat in and almost couldn't get out of it. I was so relaxed and it fit me so good. They wanted $220. for it. We were thinking that maybe we could talk him down to maybe $190. but right now with our trip coming up I just didn't want to spend that much money. You know they have been there for years so maybe next year we can go back and get it. Then my whole deck will have their furniture on it. Left there and got to Sedalia and it started pouring down rain on us. For you that have Facebook, I sent a pic there of it. It was kind of scary there for a little while but by the time we got home it cleared up. I did alot of walking while I was gone. We had doggie with us so that help. But I also did a lot of crappy eating. Junk was mostly what I ate. So I'm not going to WW tomorrow. Now way. Terri, sounds like things are going well for tomorrow. I will say a prayer for you that things turn out ok. I'm really stoked about your LB surgery. It is going to be so nice having someone on here that will bring back that new feeling to us. It will help remind me what I felt like when I was first banded and how I followed the Docs orders and actually lost weight. Bless you for helping me out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that all goes well and smoothly. Michele, so glad to hear what your boss said about you. That should have given you a big laugh and a big relief. Kat, how's MIL getting along so far? Cool deal on the filing cabinet. Lucky draw. Cindy, I will keep you Dad in my prayers. I will also say a quick one for you that you continue to have the strength to help him get thru all of this. Good Luck. Good to be back home.
  18. Michele, sounds like you guys are finding your way with each other. He's trying to get comfortable with you and all of his employees. I' don't envy him for his job, it's a tough to be boss and friend. You'll both find a good routine and all will be fine before you know it. We are headed out the door soon. Going to "Lake of the Ozarks" for a huge party. I reserved a room at one of the hoels. Actually it is a suite that sleeps 6. Sis and BIL are going with us and we are taking Doggie. It was the only place we could find that accepted pets. Anyway, my Uncle bought this piece of land and has built it in to a wonderful place for all to enjoy. He bought it 50 years ago and they are holding a celebration this weekend for it. Every year in July has been cousin weekend where all the kids come down and swim, play, eat, swim, boat, fish, swim eat, swim and sleep for the weekend. We have spent so much time time there and just enjoy the tranquility of the place and the enjoyment of a wonderful Uncle. So off we go to visit and enjoy one more time at the Lake. Have a great weekend and I'll check in when we get back.
  19. Kat, so glad to hear that thing went even better than what was hoped for. You might think about this, while she is in the hospital being taken care of I would take care of you and the house. Then be there for her when she gets home and when everyone else goes home and leaves them. You can come thru then and Rick will be able to help out while he is off work. I do that with my sister. While she is in the hospital I stay home because I know when she gets out that I will be really busy. She is a very needy person and doesn't take in to consideration what we have going on. So I use the time that she is being taken care of to take care of my stuff and then be ready for her. I baked 2 different kinds of cookies this evening and made a batch of brownies. We have a big, big party to go to this weekend and I need to get some stuff out together to take. I think I'll either buy a veggie tray or make one to take also.
  20. Back from the Doc's office. Actually I don't get to see the surgeon, it's his 2 apprentices that I see. Anyway, they piled a bunch of restrictions on me. Holy Cow. It'll be ok tho. Just was hoping that this was all over and I could move on. Good news is that I can get back in the pool in 2 weeks. WooHoo. I go back in one month and then after that another 3 months. But I am so thankful to be up and walking that it's all good. I'll take it. Came home and took doggie for a walk. They are calling for rains later today and I wanted to get my walks in. After I got home I called the Band Doc and it will be Aug 16th before I can get in to see him. I would like to get a little fill but I was also wanting to find out about this surgery for my hiatal hernia. That's getting close to our trip and I don't want to have any surgeries so soon to going. Hopefully he'll wait till this fall to do it. Hope all is going well with Kat's family today.
  21. Good Morning. Kat, good luck with your MIL's surgery today. I hope all goes well for her and for the family. Terri, How's the pre-op going? Tough? Hang in there, it will be overwith before you know it. Michelle, I hope for you that it is just openeing jitters for this manager. You seem to have a lot of patience with him. Hang in there but if not I would look into the hardware store and see what they have to offer. Having sister drama already this morning. UCK... I have my last appointment (I think) with the back surgeon today. Everything looks good and I'm feeling great so I think I'll probably be done. I'm gonna miss seeing him. I owe him a great big hug. Really more than that but that's all he's getting. Then it's back home and back to bed to rest some more. Besides it's supposed to rain this afternoon. So it looks like a day for hubby and I to watch a movie and rest. We watched one last night, "Last house on the Left". Very graphic and ending was not anything I expected. Have a great day.
  22. Just back from my second walk for the day. I went a little farther on this one. It's only 80 degrees but still very humid. oes make it a little harder to do. Now I'm sitting in front of the fan cooling off.
  23. I like that couch, looks like it would be comfy to take a nap on.
  24. Just got back from a one mile walk. It is totally yuck out there. It's in the lower eighties but the humidity is at 98% and there is not a breeze to be had. Glad I got that over with. Hopefully later after it rains again I can go one more time.
  25. I was in laying on the bed in the computer room, hubby was on the computer. TV going, just relaxing. The news was on and they were doing a segment on people texting while driving and how Moms are now the leading ones doing the texting. All of a sudden my text goes off on my phone. I had to giggle. It was Tracy. She was wanting to know how I was doing. We chatted for a little bit and then she said the cable guy showed up, so hopefully she will be on-line soon. She said she is sore from moving but holding up ok. I did work last night and by the end of my shift I was ready to go home and get in bed, which I did. This morning I got up and just felt lazy. Back is kinda sore so I decided to crawl into the bed in the computer room and watch tv with hubby. Kat, that is horrible what you MIL went thru with the Doc. What a creep. Not sure what I would have said to him. My sis has spent the last 2 days at the hospital with her friend that had surgery Monday. She said the head nurse was horrible. She said there were 2 patients on the floor and this lady was mad because she had to work on the day after a holiday. The nurse came into Pams room and she told her to get out until she got an attitude adjustment, to send the aide in from now on. Good for her. I can honestly say that in the last month that all that I went thru with the cancelled surgery and test that I have no complaints with anyone. I met some of the most compassionate people and very nice and cheerful people. I truly had it lucky. Several times I could see the potential for problems, especially with such stressfull situations but I choose to be positive and get thru this the best that I could. And it worked. I had wonderful nurses and care takers. I'm home and healing and getting better with each day. Think I'll go take a walk before it starts to rain again. See ya soon.
