LOL, Laura, you sound like I did before Evan was born! We watched a show about a vaginal birth (ew), then one about a c-section (ugh) & then I said "Ok, what's the third option?" & meant it! & the two things I was most concerned about were having to have a catheter (no biggie) & having the staples (that closed me up after the c-section) taken OUT (I was really tourqed up about that one, and it was nothing, too!). So I guess what I'm trying to say in a long, roundabout way is to just go into it all with an open attitude & mind & it'll be fine... women have been doing this for a long time & it almost always is fine! I don't know what I did, but my lower back is out of whack & sometimes it feels fine but then I'll move and WOWZA! Unexpected pain! What is up?? I layed on the heating pad & took tylenol... bleh. Exercise probably did this to me!!! Oh, & I was UP .4 lbs today after NOT eating the ice cream last night! Now that's just not right!

True confessions! I am CRAVING ice cream! I even almost rationalized myself into indulging! But then I thought about #1: if I felt I had to wait 'til after the kids were in bed (= sneak it!), then that was a huge signal that I shouldn't do it; #2: Judy's wise words on stress & eating (I'm not stressed, for me it would be more of a "treat" for the day); #3: writing my grateful list about the hard workout -- it WAS a hard one & I don't want to undo all the good I did!; #4: looking at my ticker and thinking about what it is I really want... a momentary affair w/a bowl of frozen milk or to get back to my lowest weight?? SO... I will go get into my pj's, brew a cup of tea, & relax a bit before bed! Phew! That was close!

Today I am grateful for... ...hearing "our" owl hooting so close by this afternoon. ...seeing a bluebird (of happiness?) dart by. ...a good hard workout today. ...walking into the Mailboxes Etc. store to mail off a work package, & there was my best friend! So we enjoyed a quick, unscheduled latte & a few minutes chatting in the afternoon sun. Sweet dreams, Violets! Tomorrow is a new day!

OK, I'm going to try to start a new trend here. I'd like us to end the day with a thought of gratitude for something during the day. Big or little. Whatever. But I feel that taking a moment to count a blessing will help us end the day on a positive note & keep things in perspective. I'll start! Today I am grateful for the warm, sunny day; that Mo pooped; that I bought 2 new shirts & a sweater. You?

Terri... as usual you are so elegant & so right ont the mark w/your words to Kat... I so frequently find myself thinking, "that's exactly what I was thinking but didn't know how to express it in this format"... we are blessed to have you as a friend, confidante, advisor!

Good Sunday Morn, Vi's~~ I awoke early this a.m. to the sounds of MO trying to poop again... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... he did squeek out a few pieces... so I whipped him into my bathroom, gave him an enema, and left him in there so hopefully it will help. It will just flippin' figure if I have to have him put to sleep while DH is out of town... why do these things happen/break the minute dh pulls out of the driveway?? I am woman... hear me roar... I will handle it! Other than that... it's actually WARM here today... in the 60s already! Wowza! finally all the driveway ice melted, yay! DS is making his "famous" oatmeal pancakes for b'fast... all by himself! I will not have any... he's going to try to make me a spinach/feta omelet (he's never made one). The past couple of months he's been interested in cooking & has learned several recipes... I say good! Make it a great day!

Lol, no janie, he's a professional computer geek... photography is his hobby... altho he has exhibited his work in several shows here in our area and sells it as well at a shop at the beach & privately... he frets that if he made photography his profession, then it'd become too much like "work"! & he's probably right. He enjoys it & has an interesting "eye"... my favs are the "everyday" objects/architecture that one overlooks & how he can zoom in on it & make it interesting/compelling. He also like faces... old, young, the craggier the better. He'll probably post every day while in Mexico... so keep tuned!

Good evening... Am sitting in the family room on my laptop in the dark watching "Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix"... I'm a HP fanatic and have never seen it! I kind of lost interest in the movies... they're simply taking too long to get them out to us! We've had this one on dvd for AGES but have never watched it... it's good so far! Anyone who is interested in following my dh's exploits in Mexico can follow this link... A Blog from Pixels on the Wall I've had a string of good days of eating & exercising... I'm hoping I'm heading to "the groove" to hang out there w/Judy! Enjoy your evenings!

Aha! My secret will be out! I spend 0 -- that's ZERO -- @ Starbucks! How? GIFT CARDS! At Xmas I received $75 in SB cards! I LOVED IT! They are my fav gift to receive!! I dole it out to myself throughout the weeks... I try to make them last as long as possible... & then it'll be valentine's day, or end of the school year, or my b'day... and hopefully I get some more! And so it goes... And really, I probably talk about it more than I actually GO there... seriously, maybe 1x/week? I meet my 1 friend there every other week... then maybe once a week otherwise? It is definitely a TREAT for me, not a regular occurrance. Oh, I also register my cards, so I get "extras" like soy or syrup for free, + I get coupons for free stuff cuz' I'm signed up for their e-mails... I'm proud that I am a very savvy SB customer! I also really savor it... I just don't glug it down. I even bought the sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup ($7) so I end up getting dozens of homemade skinny cd lattes @ home for the price of 1.5 @ the store! Again.... savvy! But if I were paying... I'd guess $4/week? Speaking of which... I AM going there in a moment... on my way to ds's indoor soccer game... it is my treat for the day...

Good Saturday Morning, Girls~~ Am up early to begin my day of driving kids back & forth (& repeat a few times!) all day. I should've gone to chauffeur school! LOL! Usually dh & I would split the duties... oh well, at least I'll go by the drive-thru 'bucks at least 4 times today! :cursing: It's these little "perks" that get me through the day! Make it a great day, everyone!

And we're back! Yay! Awhile ago the doorbell rang & guess who was there! The 1-800-flowers delivery guy. DH sent me 2 bouquets of tulips w/a kind note thanking me for letting him pursue his passion... that was nice. Other than that... cleaning & working & laundry... & my mind keeps remembering a year ago today w/the excitement building... what a memory that is!! Once in a lifetime... Enjoy the afternoon...

Judy... isn't that Supermarket version great? It's really an eye opener, at least for me. I refer to it when I make up my grocery list... there's so much info, I dip into it frequently, just trying to absorb it all!

Oh, don't get me wrong, we're going to have fun! We have an "all-night" movie marathon planned (we'll see how late that lasts, ha ha!) in our pj's + sleeping in the family room + fun foods, etc... + just our regular daily fun, as we are fun folks... I was just referring to nothing MAJOR like last year, when I TOTALLY surprised them when they came home from school -- 1 year ago today! -- & said "Let's go out to dinner" & then whisked them off to Walt Disney World for a long weekend! Now THAT was FUN!!
