  1. I am going to Mexico! I do not believe they send you home with one right?
  2. I am with you! I was in the same boat. I thought I was able to get financing and I also considered getting health insurance to persue the surgery but I could not afford it b/c my payments would be so high considering my weight. I decided that I was making my mind up to do whatever it took. That was in Oct. I am a waitress, not lots of extra cash and thought I nothing. I started with a garage sale. I sold everything. If I did not use it it went. Life is much better and my house is cleaner. I made $400. 00 in one weekend. I put things on craigs list, baby clothes, camaras , ect. I started putting away every cent. I used to like to go play Bingo, stopped that. I do not go buy fast food. $10-20 there a week. Soda.... that stuff.... My husband pitched in $500.00 from our business (which we really do not have) and as of today I am 1/2 way there. I have $2500.00 saved. This is from not having ANYTHING. I thought I had NOTHING to sell. If you really want to be sleeved you will see where you waste your money. For me I had to start a savings account with NO ATM card, otherwise I would spend it. I do not know if I will get the other half up as soon but I will give all I got till I get there. Also I am trying to repair my credit slowly in the event for my tummy tuck in 2 years...lol If you want it real bad it will come!!!!!!
  3. I hope I have the same experience, I do remember I was really really tired afterwards.
  4. Has anyone noticed a considerable difference in what they spend on groceries or is it a lot of the same considering the protien shakes and cost of vitamins?
  5. Just keep looking on here and you will definitly find it. Also you can go on youtube and put in gastric sleeve and you will find alot. There is so much info. Start asking direct questions. Stay plugged in here and you will be overwhelmed with tons of info. Everyone is very helpful. Welcome!
  6. Love this Post idea! I am 47, Married to a wonderful little bit younger man. He is very athletic and handsome and treats me like a queen. I do not feel worthy of his sweetness. We have been together for 11 years, married for 6. We have four grown children together (2and 2). We also are blessed with 4 precious grandbabies. My first marriage was not so great, never had any confidence in myself and married way to young. and seemed to only care for others. Then I was single for many years while raising my 2 kids. I have always been overweight for as long as I can remember. My husband started at small family business 5 years ago and I am a server at Cracker Barrel, for spending money... no actually now for SLEEVE money. I am saving rather quickly I must say. Life is grand. I could not be happier, except for ......... to be sleeved. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!
  7. taking accountability is awesome, you will back on track in no time!!!
  8. Wow, we are basically the same size and weight, and measurments. I am not sleeved yet but hope to be early this year. It will be interesting to follow your progress.
  9. If you do not mind me asking, how do you know this? I plan on being sleeved by Dr. Kelly in the near future. thank you
  10. This is something that concerns me a great deal.
  11. I see a significant difference. Keep up the great work!!!!
  12. I am not sleeved but it sounds to me like a statement I have made. It is something (another excuse) why one has not taken control of their own destiny and made a change. It is not your fault for he is fat. In less you hand tied him and shoved the food down his throat. I also have a great wonderful luvable husband (who is naturally physically fit) who has gained a few pounds(very few!!!) and has made comments on how it is b/c of my eating habits, well that is a bunch of malarky. lol I think they're ego is involved.lol Just my opinion.
  13. Really, that is very encouraging considering the pain of the hysterctomy, thanks.
  14. Oh yeah, by the way I know of at least one restaurant, Cracker Barrel , that has a kid's menu that says it is for Kids of all ages. Still a lot of food with a good variaty.
  15. Is being Sleeved anything like it might of felt when having a Hysterectomy? I had a partial a few years back and recovered fairly quickly. Just trying to imagine... thanks.
  16. What an inspiration you are. I can not wait to continue to hear of your journey. I believe your Mom would be very proud of your dedication to getting healthy. Be sure to post some pics as you lose. Keep caring for your self and do not spend to much time watching cable alone. Mr. Wonderful is out there waiting for you!!!!! I am not saying you NEED to have a boyfriend but new boyfriends sure are fun!!!!

i am not sleeved yet but from reading on here you are actually one of those that are blessed with not having a sudden stall. Do not look for something wrong. Everything you pointed out sounds very positive. Sounds like God is blessing you with exactly what you need at the time, enjoy your ride. Also congrats on the downsize, soon enough those 26's will fall of even with the rope. I can not wait to be sleeved!!!!! You are doing wonderful!!!!!
  18. YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION!!!!!!
  19. I am a waitress. I am not sleeved yet (hopefully soon) but often run into people that I believe have had WLS surgery. I being experienced, I would never question why someone did not eat there meal. Do not get me wrong, if they are unsatified with their food, by all means I would do what I could to make them happy. When a server is trying to see why you did not eat, they are trying to satisfy you to improve there tip. It is ignorant to be pushy and rude but I do not know how intentional. Servers mainly are doing this for one reason, to improve their tip by trying to improve your dining experience. This might sound crazy but maybe you are being to nice. I have had mixed messages from guests, wondering do they want the extra attention or do they want to be left alone. What I would do in this situation is when the meal is served and all plates are down, so you have thier attention, look directly at him and say "can I have a carryout container NOW, I am sure I will not finish all of this". Then directly move your eyes away, leaving no room for any conversation. Short and sweet. As a server you get a feel if people want to conversate or not. . All though there is a lot of people that should not be in the profession, most do not want to upset a guest or they are wasting thier time and not making any money. Basically eye contact stating what you want then move your eyes away and body language stating you are done conversing. When they bring the container, smile. look at their eyes and say thanks and move your eye contact away. They will then know they had met your need. I have also learned from my profession that when someone states that they have had a medical issue, surgery, whatever.... they generally are opening the door to want to conversate. As a server you are basically just trying to build a repore for a short period of time. There are some REALLY not so smart servers that ruin the guest dinner out and in turn ruin their tip. I see this happen with all kinds of issues all of the time, not just WLS. Sorry so long, hope this helps.
  20. That is awesome!!!!!!
  21. Since I have decided to be sleeved ( I am not yet) I have gained about 15 lbs. It really is the "worst" and "hardest" 15 lbs. I regret it terrible. I had no physical ailments related to weight except for my appearence yet since my recent weight gain, my feet ache, my back hurts and now finally my wedding rings no longer fit. You would think that would halt it as this stage considering I need to prepare myself. I have asked myself why, I can not come up with an obvious answer why I continue to sabatage when I am so gong ho and excited about being sleeved. I can say there is a fear behind it for I feel it but can not quite say it is because I will no longer have food. I realize I can eat in the future, I read read read on here. Look up all types of info on being sleeved but continue to just eat. I know this surgery is not magic fix it all surgery. It is hard work and dedication. I just keep saying -this to shall pass..... focus, focus, focus. Being aware is part of growing out of it right. I am surprised but not really so many are doing this. I am so glad I seen this post. Somehow it gives me hope.
  22. Congrats to you! Can not wait to be sleeved. You have so much to look forward to especially with your child.
  23. Wow, you now look like you would be the younger sister of the first photo. Awesome. You look completely different, related but different.
  24. Congrats!!! Praying for a speedy recovery.
