  1. Sorry, you asked for people who were sleeved, ooops, see there I go being over excited!
  2. Meeeeeee! Since I decided and made my mind up , and found this site, that is pretty much all I live. The surgery is related to everything I encounter now. No one knows excepts for my husband, he is tired of hearing about it. He is way supportive but asks me to cool it just a little. Everything relates somehow to being sleeved. He asked me if I want to hear about fishing and football 24/7. That is when I got the point. It is like a stepped into this world of new hope. I feel alive, excited, energetic. I just shared with a friend on this site today that I am sleeved out, believe I might be sleeved stressed from overload sleeve talk. I have to stop and allow, make myself sleep, eat and breath something other than the sleeve. I do get frustrated because it feels like I am sitting on a turtles back lollygagging down the slooowwwww uphill road. I never did spend to much time on facebook anyway, but this is my new facebook now. ICAN NOT WAIT to live start the 2week pre op, the pain the misery, bring it on!!!!! I am inspired to eat less, eat slowly and not drink with meals. I have slowly been trying to emplement things to live out my future. It really is frustrating because I am playing the waiting game with finances. I am praying for my sleeve surgery to happen at the beginning of the year, if all works out right.
  3. I actually have never enjoyed the spotlight on me what so ever. I would not say I was shy by no means but I feel very uncomfortable being the center of attention in any situation, even if it is postitive. The closer I am to chosen a date to go to MX I am confronted with this.... What has been running through my mind is something my 1st husband said to me many many years ago, in his own frustration, with me being heavy. He said, while he was mad "Anytime you start getting anywhere with a diet or losing any weight , as soon as someone notices it , you stop and forget where you were at and gain it all back'. I do not want that to hinder me. I am so ready to get rid of this weight once and for all! I never really understood what he meant till now. I do not neccessarly agree with him but definitly do not look forward to the ........ "Oh wow, you have lost so much weight" thing . I believe that is another reason why I choose not to share that I am going to be sleeved with anyone but my (present) wonderful loving sweet supportive husband! lol Has anyone else experienced this nervousness concerning the new attention? I
  4. Oh my, your message to pre-sleevers is so helpful and inspiring. Your pics actually made me cry. How awsome they are. You look terrific! Thank you so much. It really gives me hope. Your a beautiful woman! I CAN NOT WAIT TO BE SLEEVED!!
  5. I love these little lifts (gifts) you give. I can not wait to be sleeved!!!!!
  6. Wow, You look great. You sure have come a long way!!! Your a beautiful woman and your eyes smile, not that you were not pretty before but your beauty is showing in your face in that most recent pic and your shape is really taking form. Continued success with the journey.
  7. yecats posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
I am surprised that I do not see more posts about fish, though I am fairly new on this site. I absolutely love Salmon, does that agree with the sleeve. I know it is quite oily so I wonder?
  8. I really like your response to this as well!!!
  9. I really really love your response!!!
  10. I have real trouble with a significant person in my life. My step sister who I dearly love and adore. She is a great gal but she always looks me up and down when she sees me, she has always had weight issues. Measuring her esteem for the day with who she can compare her size to. She also believes that anyone who tries WLS is totally crazy and will eventually trip over the excess skin. She has actually said that. I only see her like 5 times a year so I just thought I would cross that bridge when I come to it. I do not look forward to facing her at all after surgery.
  11. The closer I get to setting a date for surgery a big question is still not answered for me. Realisticly I need to make some plans in the event that problems arise post op. I do not have insurance. I do go to a local clinic hear in my town and my Dr. is quite old school. When I brought up the issue to him concerning having WLS he told me that was not realistic and passed over it. He was not willing to entertain the idea. As far as other options for basic medical care for me or my family it is very limited to this clinic. I have never had any issues, they have always provided us with great care. When I hear of peole saying they have medical issues or possible leaks I worry. What can I do proactively before surgery to prepare, in the event that something unfortunate happens? Also, I noticed that some call thier WLS doctor for maybe a different prescribtion, if one does not agree with them. Is MX Drs. in a position to handle prescribtion needed via sending a prescribtion to my local pharmacy? I guess that is a good question for my coordinator. How have any of you dealt with these issues? Any imput would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  12. Hi Brandy, Welcome. I have not been sleeved yet but plan on it in early 2012. That is a great decision to consider the health of your entire family in the future. I am sure you will do wonderful. I am so glad you have your husband there right along side of you to experience this journey. Everyone on here is so helpful. look around and jump in, that is what I did. I am addicted. My friends wonder, why don't I see you on facebook? I realized it was b/c I am on here getting educated!!! Again best wishes! See you here on a forum
  13. Your doing great lady, you are almost there. Sometimes all you need is time, hang in there!!! Be encouraged, I would be tickled to be right where you are at. I watching for your next song and dance lol

  15. ty , by the way your progress is amazing!!
  16. There seems to be some Abreviations that a lot of people use on here . I now know that DH is dear husband. What are some of the others and there meanings please. For instance , PPI. There are others just can not recall. Can you think of any? Thank you.
  17. If you do not mind me asking......you said "it is not what you imagined", in what way?
  18. Did it feel like it was your kidneys?
  19. I am not sleeved yet. I am a little nervous about starting the pre op diet. In the past, on at least two occasions I recall trying a very low carb diet. I would reach that stage of Ketosis and was miserable. Has anyone experienced like thier back or kidneys hurting. It was horrible. I could not lay down or sit down for that matter. I really did not understand. lasted about 2 days and gave up. It was something stupid like cabbage Soup diet and I believe also when I went to the diet Dr. and would take pills that were like an appetite supressants. I I did take ibruprophen and it did help but I was afraid my kidneys were failing. Anyone experience anything like that and have any suggestions. How long does it last. Thank you!
  20. Hi, I am not sleeved yet also. I also plan on being sleeved by Dr. Kelly in early 2012, hopefully in Jan. also. Still working on some last minute finances. I also do not have insurance. I think he is awesome and I have heard wonderful things about him! I tend to worry about things, maybe my grown children, our business can get stressful, just life in general but I am not worried about being sleeved, and this is why. At the rate I am going I might have 10 maybeeeeee 15 years left, especially if I continue being this heavy. Also, if I live that long the quality of my life will not be good. No running, playing with my kids. Have you ever been embarrassed b./c your kids were b/c of your size. I read on here somewhere, something like this.. I would rather die by trying to save and improve my life, than die painfully doing nothing, having a miserable existence. I can not speak for you or others but I am miserable being fat! I have tried and tried and tried. I do not want to go my entire life thinking if only, what if. I want to for once experience being smaller. I have always been a chicken . I am more afraid of living the rest of my life like this than I am being sleeved. Remember this.... To be a really good to your daughter, be sure to be really good to her Mother! Give your daughter the oppurtunity to have a healthy Mom. That is not selfish, that is considering her future! If you listen to your friend then maybe you should never drive on the highway, fly on a plane or cross a street while walking. Life happens, if something bad happens it is suppose to. It is called destiny. You die when you are suppose to. For the record , statistically there are other surgeries that are of much greater risk than this one. Look it up! That is exactly why I prefer not to share my experience until afterwards. I do not need anyone's approval. I need support. My husband is awesome! Suppose you had an infection and if you did not take care of it then it would eventually take many years off your life and you also would not to be able to enjoy life but have a lot of other health issues, would she still say, "no, you better not , you need to think of your daughter, not your future bad health! All you need is people around you that support the decisions that YOU make. Stay focused and reach way down deep inside and ask yourself, you are the only one that knows that answer if getting sleeved is right for you.. Lay on your pillow tonite and ask yourself what is your gut instincts(no pun intended lol) telling you? I am sorry I rambled.... I see that issue in my own life so I avoided it totally!! Hope this helped.
  21. Thank you. This will be my official "If I have doubts, read this" Post
  22. Stacey Nicole, You definetly have the right mind set by preparing yourself for support. I am sending you good thought and prayers of no discomfort in your next coming weeks. I will be watching for your progress so let us know ok.
  23. Hi, I am sorry for your pain. Your post really made me laugh though. I do not know if you noticed but I wonder what is really on your mind....lol. I noticed you said the balll of your left "food" and not your "foot", I sure it was just a finger off but I thought it was cute. Hope you do not mind me pointing it out. I laughed out loud. Get well soon!!!
