  1. Well I just realized I actually did lose .4 this week so I am happy to have lost a tiny bit even if it was like in the 1st day of the week! I guess I lost it last Sunday and was thinking it was already included in my loss last week but last week I was 157.2 and now am 156,8 so YAY! LOL Every little bit, got to keep telling myself that!!
  2. Mine started very bad at about 3 months, I am just past 6 months and it has almost stopped.
  3. No loss for me this week - that seems to be how it goes I lose every other week. Even though I still get between 800-1000 calories, sometimes I throw in a mini kit kat or a top of a cup cake for a snack. I always get my protein in and my fluids - each day - no matter what. Just frustrating that my loss is so slow. I burned up the early months with my leak and instructed not to lose during that time and here I am. I did better than this on weight watchers. Frustrating
  4. I have heard that as you lose weight your hormones go haywire because they are stored in fat so as you burn fat you burn hormones.
  5. yes you can take the calcium petite they are citrate - you have to take 6-8 a day.
  6. I tasted diet caffeine free flat diet coke - YUCK! LOL
  7. Trop 50 is good! I tried just a little because I too was craving it. It was before my leak was discovered but I have had a sip of bloody mary since my leak healed and it was fine!
  8. I had a complication - a leak. Even though I read all the complication threads I still wasn't prepared with how it would affect my life. But it really is about being prepared. I think it is very important to know all the possible outcomes - pray you won't be the 1% but be prepared if you are.
  9. I was never told no gum - I will say I find myself chewing a 1/2 or 1/3 of a piece because it seems so sweet. I have always chewed sugar free gum though too.
  10. My doctors goal for me is 800-1000 and I am 6 months out. You can adjust your goal on MFP by going to My Home, Goals, scroll down and Change Goals, Custom, then set your calories, % of protein (I set that first and then go by whatever MFP says for fat and carbs - and I don't pay alot of attention to those #'s). It will still give you a blub at the bottom when you complete your daily diary that you are eating too few calories but it will at least show a normal calorie and protein goal for you.
  11. I am 157.2 today, down 2.8 lbs from last week. YAY! I Think I am officially in the 150's. In the beginning I just KNEW I would be at goal by now. Maybe without my leak I would have been, who knows. I think I am still on target to hit it by summer - I hope! I changed my ticker to include my preop weight loss too - I lost that darn weight, I am claiming it haha!!
  12. Aww how sweet!
  13. I think they start everyone out at a baseline dose, I am on 1000 mcg a week. Just got my 6 month lab back and I am good so I assume no change to my dose. If I was low, they would up it at that point. I think the fact that I have been sick for 4 months of those 6 that's pretty good!
  14. It could be hereditary instead of dietary.
  15. juniors chewable tylenol worked well for me!
  16. Praying for you! That seems like a huge amount of contrast I was give 1-2 oz each time I had a test with my leak. I hope it's just a bug!
  17. I am 160 now, not sure how many pounds down from last check-in because I have been bouncing around alot. I go back to work tomorrow, been off for 4 months with my leak.
  18. Thinking of you and sending prayers. Complications are rough. I hope someone who has had a similar problem comments soon, it helps to have someone who has gone through it before to talk to. Is the kink like a stricture?
  19. All I got to say? I am soooo glad there isn't a baskin robbins in my town anymore LOL But that darn magarita sure sounds awesome!! I really want a bloody mary though!
  20. I would say up your fluids - you need at least 64 oz. Worth a try!
  21. I have had a leak. I did not get sick with it, just had very bad shoulder pain. After it was discovered, I ended up with pneumonia and fluid on my lungs. I don't believe they go in and restaple it. Mine was allowed to heal on it's own (NPO for 2 1/2 months). I have heard of them placing a stent (jasleeve is going through this right now) and also going in MONTHS later when it wouldn't heal on it's own and using surgical glue. Risks and complications can happen with any surgery. The lapband seems to have alot of long term complications where the sleeve seems to have them early out if you have them. They say 1% complication rate for the sleeve.
  22. My leak had been there for a while, which is what caused the abscess. The leak only showed on the test when they had me lay down, they didn't do that the first time. Most likely the leak opened when the swelling of the sleeve went down.
  23. I wish someone had told me that no matter the very slim chance of a complication, just how bad and life altering they can be. Go in to this praying you are a lucky one with no complication and that the initial time off and recoverey for the sleeve is all you have to go through. But also know if you have a leak you could be hospitalized again for additional time (1 month for me), that you may end up NPO (feeding tube for me but also TPN possibly), be prepared that you could be off work for several more months (4 for me), know that you may have a stent placed (jasleeve) and that is very uncomfortable and makes eating and drinking bad. I wasn't prepared for the possibility of complications - after all it is 1% right? Be prepared. I doubt it makes it any easier but just know it can happen and it is very serious if it does. One person explained it well by saying it is 1% until it is YOU then it is 100% you.
  24. No real loss this week to report. I am bouncing around and this may be my first stall. I get my feeding tube out tomorrow and then can really jump on the exercise wagon!
  25. I love thinly sliced cheese - colby jack is my favorite! I was also told to use my shakes in place of snacks.
