  1. Honestly I found wedding dress sizing odd and they will measure you anyway. Every dress fits differently based on the cut plus figure in all the alterations just have them help you find the right size. Good luck - congrats on the wedding!
  2. How much protein are in your drinks? Try to get the highest amount of protein to help make this process easier. Good luck - it does get better.
  3. Hi - welcome! Glad to hear things are going well so far. Banded 10/14 and had 2 fills so far. They are surprisingly simple and painless. Just follow the liquid diet for a day or so afterwards and you'll be fine. Good luck on your journey!!
  4. Wondering if the protein drinks might be causing a film on your teeth.
  5. Myfitnesspal app is awesome to track your calories and monitor your progress. Mylapband has food suggestions and tips. Good luck - we're here if you need help!
  6. Hi Jamie - welcome and congrats on starting your journey. My husband and I went through this process together just recently and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. He started the process by scheduling the seminar appointment and I went along to listen. In the end, we both came to our own decision that it was the right thing for each of us. Again - good luck! Cindy
  7. The possibilities are endless once you remove the obstacles that you've placed in your own way. Let others turn you down instead of always taking yourself out of the game. Maybe they wont turn you down! My husband and I both recently got banded and we no longer want to be spectators in our lives - I hope you get in the game too.
  8. Hi banded 10/14 and I've been feeling great. Only annoying issue is around my port area, but I guess that just takes time. Although done with mushy foods - I still tend to eat them and my 1 or 2 protein drinks a day. It's been working, so figure why fix it.
  9. Give yourself time to recover - your body is still recovering and you'll benefit from the rest. I was tempted to go back to work early too and I'm so glad I waited. I felt great my first week back instead of struggling through it. Good luck and a speedy recovery.
  10. Another vote for gallbladder - an attack feel exactly like you're describing and then it goes away. Good luck!
  11. I would recommend calling your Dr's office and have them follow-up. I was told they were the only ones that could escalate it. Got approval within a week with lots of follow-up so something is wrong. Good luck. The good news is someone from Cigna monitors this site, so expect a posting offering assistance (hopefully).
  12. Hi I asked the same question at my follow-up appointment and was told between 800-1200 calories a day.
  13. I did have gas pains, so I think it just depends on the person. A little over a week later I feel great, have been on the treadmill a couple times this week and ready to go back to work tomorrow.
  14. Glad everything went well - keep us posted on your progress. Follow-up at NYU today was a breeze, so make your 2 appts back to back as soon as you can. Take care!
  15. I'm 5 days out and still struggling with it but each day gets better.
  16. Heating pad and if someone can rub your back that may help. I just get relief it doesnt go away completely. Hang in there 5 days post-op and each day is getting better.
  17. Try a heatIng pad and have someone rub your back or pat it - that has been the best help. Good luck each day gets better - promise!
  18. I have 2 and both are in the same place as when I had my gallbladder removed and those were hard to see.
  19. I find having my back rubbed or patted helps the most plus a heating pad. Good luck this seems to be the most annoying part for me.
  20. Hi was banded yesterday at NYU and everything went very well. I'm feeling sore but nothing horrible. I find getting up to walk around, stretching to keep the gas moving and using the breathing machine they give you to be a big help. Last night wasn't too bad but I did walk up the first few times the medicine was due. Switching between the heating pad for the gas pains and putting a small ice pack on my belly button incision seems to work. Good luck everyone on Monday and the rest of October - you'll do great.

  22. I bought it at Vitamin Shoppe but go online and get a coupon on Pure Protein's site and they may list other locations to buy it. Good luck - waiting for the approval was hard but soon you'll be one day out of surgery like me. Hang in there.
  23. Hi doing well after the surgery - heading home shortly and I'll update more later. They fixed a hiatal hernia they found while in there, so feel like I got a bonus.
  24. Hi don't worry - keep doing what you've been doing and add as much water as possible. I lost most of my weight in the 2nd week, so don't loss faith. Good luck!
  25. So tomorrow is the day and I'm so excited. The two week pre-op diet went great except one emotional meltdown day. Most of the 11lbs I lost didn't come until this week, so hang in there those that are just starting out. Drank Pure Protein - 34g of protein and taste really good. I had to remind myself that with that amount of protein I wasn't feeling hungry it was the habit of eating I was feeling & missing. Thank you all for the support, encouragement and honesty that this is not an easy process , but we're worth it. This group has been a great help over the last few weeks. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes tomorrow and wish all of you success in the journey!!
