  1. Hi - I asked the exact same question yesterday at pre-op and the nurse said it would make no difference. Good luck this week!
  2. LB4me - I've had similar moments when the reality of everything really hit me. This is not an easy decision and I wish you peace over the next few weeks preparing. Going to NYU too and scheduled 10/14. Did pre-op testing yesterday and it was quick and easy (blood tests, EKG, chest xray, and did most of the paperwork to minimize anything for the day of process). My final motivation and why 100% sure this is the right thing for me - I don't want Morbidly Obese in the same sentence as my name EVER again. Good luck!
  3. Congrats to all of you that were banded this week - I appreciate all of you sharing your stories and words of encouragement. Feel good!! Counting down to 10/14.
  4. Right after the last required (6mos) visit is done my information was submitted.
  5. When I get nervous I try to focus on the things that I won't miss about being this weight. I realize that I would be holding on to a life that I don't want - instead I want to put all my energy and faith into what can and will be. I deserve it and I believe each of you do too.
  6. Both my husband and I went through NYU and had the exact same experience with unprofessional staff. We both had to constantly follow-up and double check everything we were told because they we dishonest about submittng stuff. Disappointing that you pick and excellent surgeon and then have to put up with problematic office staff. Added unnecessary stress to the process.
  7. It has been a true reality check of how challenging this process can be and as great as the rewards can be this isn't an easy road. I thought going second would be better but yikes I don't know now! I'm guess I'm just beginning to get nervous.
  8. Hi I'm happy to join this group. I'm schedule Oct 14th and have been excited until seeing my husband have the Lapband earlier this week. I know this is only a temporary situation but still difficult to watch and making me nervous. Anyone else been through something similar?
