  1. You are beautiful, young and have the rest of your life a head of you. Make the most of it and have fun...
  2. I met my surgeon first, I had a gastric bypass back in 1978, when it was all still new. He needed to do an E-scope to make sure the band would be the best choice. I asked about a revision for the bypass, he indicated he always does the band on previous bypass patients. Don't get me wrong the bypass worked well until 7 years ago when we lost our son. Food food food, reaching for comfort. If I would have been a drinker I would have been in treatment 6 years ago. Life is full of what ifs.....and sweet memories.
  3. Thanks for the info on the yogurt, I did find the AA at Vitamin Shoppe 15/pack for $16. Also picked up some banana cream muscle milk powder. All MM powder 19.99 for the tub while on sale. They have a cooler with singles of all their protein drinks, so you can try before you by a 4pack.
  4. Anyone know where I can buy the AA in bulk/cases ? What is the best yogurt to eat, all of it seems to have lots of carbs. Thanks
  5. Finally the pre-approvals letters went to BCBS of NE. on Tuesday 10/25. Not in their data yet, but will be checking again on Monday.

  7. When I met with the nutritionist she suggested to start following a low carb diet asap. Found a book; Carb addicts diet. Been following it and have lost 9.5 pounds since 10/13. Not going hungry by any means, hope this will have the sugar/salt cravings gone by pre op diet. Today was a good day.
  8. I was in an out in less than 1.5 hours. Only directions they gave me was not to sign any legal documents, as the IV med messes with your memory. Good reason to take the day off. No problems, no pain.
  9. I want to RIDE my Harley all the way to the Sturgis Bike Rally. No more trailers, ride the 425 miles with the wind in my face.
  10. Our nurse navigator said, anywhere from a week to 30 days. Mine and my hubby's was sent to BCBS of Nebraska on Monday. Just want to get in an out before we have a new deductible.

  12. So happy that my hubby and I are both getting the band, back to back. It's just the two of us at home now so we can help each other. Just waiting for the insurance approval.
  13. Just received an email from Unjury. They now have a high pro cheese sauce. 21 grams of protein, and just a few carbs. Makes 5 table spoons for topping eggs, chili, veggies, or what ever. It is seasonal, so I am ordering it today.
  14. Same here, we are waiting for insurance approval. Our nurse navigator said, the approval could be as soon as a week or up to 30 days. Working hard on a low carb diet now to prepare for the pre-op diet. Here is to all of us, and a healthy future.
  15. My hubby and I are also at the mercy of the insurance company and their time schedule. We both would like to be banded before the new year, as at this time we have no out of pocket expenses. Take a deep breath and TRY to relax> Sending good thoughts your way.
  16. It was a great day. My husband, Bear and I had our final consults at the clinic today. All the paper work, evals, and medical is completed. Our Nurse Navigator said no 6 month monitoring is required by Blue Cross of Nebraska. Their reports will go to insurance company next week. She said that it can be as quick as 1 week or up to 4 to get a response. Learned about the pre-op diet and risks of WLS. It is full speed ahead, now to begin the Diet Coke Detox.
  17. Thanks for the info..L
  18. I am anxious to hear the different time frames to get back to work. I'm a social worker, not hard work and get to move around a lot. I don't have a lot of vacation time and would like to get a idea of what to expect. Thanks
