My birthday is on Thanksgiving this year. I heard there is a protein shake called cake batter; anyone know what brand it is?

You should have an appt with a pharmacy through you surgeon. We did our yesterday, and I have already called our PCP to change 2 of Bear's meds.

Had some of those ideas last week, not my husband, he did say he'd like to drink a beer, but decided not to. I have lost 14 pounds since my first visit in Sept. so the doc was pleased and so was I. Bear stayed the same but doc was ok with that. Pre op starts Friday for both of us. We have an invite out tonight for birthday dinner. Think I will have a piece of catfish, and a slice of brisket; nothing crazy like a buffet, just a hometown Bar B Q. November 2011 is a good thing.

Congrats, I'm on 11/30 and hubby on 11/29. starting pre op diet on the 19th with him.

I am always proactive in taking care of my self, he can have his plan but; I am not sure it is my plan.

Final appt with surgeon yesterday.He likes to do 4 fills the first 6 months. He reports that he has seen the best success with this routine. Post op visit in 7 days, first fill within 30 days. $125 a fill. I asked about people who are losing with out fills, he said this is his preference and is the best option. Any thoughts or input ???

Vitamin Shoppe this week, OhYey ! protein shakes 14 oz size $2 each. I bought a cases of choc milk shake and cookies and cream. This is my favorite shake now, hope I like it after surgery.

Someone said they bought yogurt with only 6 carbs. I have not been able to find anything less than 18 which was Greek with fruit. Please any info would be great. I am close to Omaha so most stores are available. Thanks,

I went and bought some small appetizer bowls and plates this weekend. Really pretty and I moved the real dishes up to the top shelf.

Hey Matt; I'm glad you posted today. I had the same questions. Guess I will go but 2 heating pads, don't think I'll be in the mood to share. Liquid Tylenol, would not have thought about that for after the good drugs run out..

Well, I have told only my niece who will be with me on surgery day 11/30/22. My husband is being banded on 11/29/11 so he will be home trying to recover and worrying because he is not with me. Us too, we have taken vacation time. Not comfortable with the nay-sayers out there.

Surgery set for 11/29 & 11/30. First dr. visits in Sept., took about 10 days for insurance approval. I agree with Corrigan; about 2 months.

Ok, so I tried Unjury unflavored in V8. Don't do it, had to dump it. Probably the same with tomato juice.

Nov. 29, for my hubby...Nov. 30 for me. Banned together, pre op & post op together.

Approval came through this afternoon. Banding....11/30/11

I am anxious to be able to walk with my dogs again. They are bird dogs and do not go on leads, but no way I can keep up with them or get to them if something happened. Hoping this journey will be soon coming.

Surgery 11/29 for my hubby. Pre Op for Thanksgiving. That's one way not to have to cook.

Took 7 days for my hubby to hear from them. Day 8 and I'm still waiting.

Hubby was approved yesterday, me still waiting. BCBS of NE. received approval on 10/31 made decision 11/7. The associate told my hubby that his approval was dated before mine, so hope to hear today. I am soooo happy for him.

Well I called our insurance co.; yes they entered my information on 10/31/11. I should figure 10 to 15 business days for their review and decision. Hurry up and wait/weight.....The story of my life.

Our nurse navigator said; you have to be smoke free 6 months prior to surgery. The she said, We do a nicotine test just to be safe. WTF is a nicotine test? I have never smoked and my husband used the Chantix about 4 years ago. Maybe I look like a smoker; what does a smoker look like? Wishing you success in you journey, and hoping you can KICK the habit.
