My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
I don't think it's that common to have a reaction, my mom has an autoimmune disease so I think it was a genetic thing that I reacted to them. With me, it started with a rash on my left hand that eventually spread all the way up my arm and got really nasty. It took a lot of googling to figure out what was causing it. Once I had them removed the rash went away completely. Autoimmune reactions can vary though, depending on the person.

I Just Wanna POOP!
Using laxatives will eventually make the problem worse because your body will get used to them. Please try the magnesium, it has eliminated this problem for me. Pun intended

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
You look great! I had a BA done 5 yrs. ago after I had lost some weight. I was super happy with them for over 2 yrs until my body had an autoimmune reaction to them. I had to have them removed and I do really miss them.

What made you do it?

What made you do it?
I lost over 120 lbs. doing low carb 8 yrs. ago. I HATED being obese, I felt like I had been let out of prison when I lost the weight. After 2 more kids and then a miscarriage this past year my weight has gotten within 17 lbs of what it was originally. When I go back to low carbing I will lose 5 lbs of water weight and then stall. I am just sick and tired of it. Enough is enough, I want my thin body back!!! I also have had back surgery and osteoarthritis in my back. To get this weight off will be a huge relief to my spine!

I Just Wanna POOP!
Magnesium works great for this and it's a stress reliever as well. Try some Natural Calm or just take 2-3 magnesium capsules daily.
-
4 days out...
That's great you are feeling good today already! I will be glad when my surgery is behind me, 5 weeks to go!

Does Doubt really mean Don't?

LOSING HOPE
Have you considered going to Mexico and doing self pay? A lot of people like Dr. Kelly and he is very reasonably priced at 5,300. Maybe you could get a 0% credit card to pay for it? I am going to Dr. Aceves in Mexico, but he is a few K more.

Need help choosing a DR....
It probably doesn't matter to most, but I think it's a valid question. Personally, I would love a Dr of my faith that would pray with me before surgery.

Need help choosing a DR....
No problem, I must have misunderstood your sense of humor.
-
Need help choosing a DR....
Seriously? Would you also poke fun at a Muslim, Jew, or Buddhist's faith?
-
Need help choosing a DR....
Isn't Dr. Aceves Christian as well? I assumed since I read he has a large picture of Jesus with his hand on the surgeon's hand. Anyone know? This would make me feel better since I am Christian as well.

After Surgery Shock
Thank you, I think this is going to be the biggest adjustment I will have to make.

After Surgery Shock
How much of a shock did you go through after your VSG? Specifically I am wondering just how I will handle not being able to turn to food when stressed. Is it a huge shock after surgery? How difficult is the adjustment?

Cooking for your Family
I have a husband and 5 children that I cook for. How has cooking for your family changed since VSG? Do you find it easier or more difficult?
-
Caffeine? Husband?
Thanks for the responses! I'm afraid I will be really hard to live with sans coffee...... I don't want to be a grouchy wife and mom. Speaking of being a mom, is it hard preparing meals for your family after VSG? Knowing you can't eat it or maybe only a tiny bit?
