  1. Congrats to you both! You will do great!
  2. Try different powders. Some mix in better and taste great. I also mix in fruit or Greek yogurt with my protein shakes. Blend it well. Also, try unsweetened almond milk as the base liquid. It is a bit thicker and very low in calories and carbs!
  3. Has anyone tried Dreamfields Pasta? Are their claim on non digestible carbs accurate?

It is not unusual to feel sensation in the port area for some time. You are healing. It it become red or swollen, call the doctor.
  5. Try Campbell's soup pureed. It has more taste. Also soft scrambled eggs. Just take very small bites and chew lots! Call you dietician for advice.
  6. Potatoes have NO protein, of course you know that. Do you have protein shakes? The post-op period is very important for your success. Try to stick with the rules. If you can't now, just know that it doesn't get easier if you keep pushing the limits.
  7. Everyone has a different pain threshold, but for what it is worth, I took only one pain pill. Gas was worse, but tolerable. You will do fine!
  8. Follow your doctor's plan. Just be sure you get your protein in every day. And don't forget, liquids only after the fill for 24 hours. You will do great!
  9. It doesn't matter where you start, just where you end up. If you are happier and healthier, you've made it!
  10. Tell who YOU want. It is not a per-requisite for friendship! I would tell my spouse if married... they kinda need to know.
  11. Wear your heaviest clothes!
  12. Fantastic story! A definite keeper!
  13. It's like that old joke about the lawyer defending himself... Just get the proper care! You deserve it!
  14. Congrats to you all, you are beginning a journey towards healthier you!
  15. I would use collace as soon as you get home. Some of us continue to need it 1 year out. Initially don't be in too big of a hurry to have the first BM. Straining is not good and remember you will have very low intake.
  16. Generally only burpy if I eat too much too fast?
  17. I am the same as Floridays? Never heard of liquids only pre-fill? Is it your first?
  18. A agree... chicken soup and the shakes are fab. I did not care for the strawberry either, but many people do like it. I mix with sugar free almond milk. More body and less carbs than skim milk.
  19. I am also close to my goal and can eat anything if I chew slowly and do not rush. Think of it as a short term loss for long term healthier life! ( I would never say the "g" word!)
  20. BTW in the year since surgery I have had only two fills.
  21. I had lap band with plication a year ago. Very happy, no complications. It is like getting two surgeries for one! My doc has had great success with it!
  22. Call an attorney, even an ambulance chaser can handle this stupidity. Ask for a hospital advocate. This is ludicrous!
  23. Skinny a$$ jeans and a little black dress!
  24. Stick to the band rules and I'll bet you change your mind sooner rather than later. BTW, have you told him why? I finding talking helps a lot of these problems.
