Confusion
I think as long as you are getting in your 64 oz of fluid then you are doing really good. Just my opinion maybe some veteran sleevers will chime in.

5 Month Sleeversary and 50 Lbs gone FOREVER!!!
Congratulations! I too was going to get the band until I started searching out the complications and following random peoples blogs. I accidentally came across the VSG when I was reading about someone else who was revising from band to sleeve. I did my research and found that the sleeve was truly for me. I can not wait to be on the losers bench with all of the rest of you. Oh I have always wanted to mention I like how you have a short goal and long goal ticker. I am going to copy you when I get sleeved to break the bigger picture into smaller managable pieces. You are an inspiration!

future stomach problems
The stomach is for the breakdown of food into smaller particles. It is the small intestine that absorbs what your body uses. Vit B12 is absorbed in the stomach which will happen just in smaller amounts. As the stomach contains Intrinsic factor used for utilization of Vit B12. You will have to make sure that you take Vit B12 to maintain the levels or a shot once in awhile to increase your levels. So you should not worry about decreasing the absorption of nutrients in the stomach as absorption does not occur there. Hope this info helps you to make an informed decision.

scared in san diego
I understand about being scared. I am a little over a week away from getting my sleeve surgery in Mexico and I am going alone! I just keep on thinking back to all the diets that have lead me to the weight I am, and that I need to lose this weight to be healthy. You will ultimately have to decide what is best for you. I do wish you the best for whatever you choose.

11 days out and have a question
Seems like most people have a stall at week 2 or 3. Its just your body adjusting and you should be back to losing soon.

best surgery/outcome for bigger people
The Sleeve is the first of two proceedures for the DS. If you are losing fine on the sleeve you will not need the second part the malabsorption part of the proceedure for the duodenal switch. But, if you are not losing the amount of weitght it is easier to get the second surgery for the malabsorption. Just giving you the information to make an informed decision.

powerade
Only other thing I can think of is Pedialyte. It has less sugar and will provide the electrolytes that you need.

New Scale -- Uh Oh!
Why not test your scales with a known weight. Maybe a 5 or 10 lb weight on it to see how accurate they are.

Doubting follow thru
Honestly you have to make the decision which way you want to proceed. Personally losing the weight can be done. The statistics out there state that only 5% of people who lose the weight are able to maintain the weight loss over time. Losing is easier than maintaining in my books. I have had troubles with maintenence and always end up gaining the weight back and some extra. For me I want help with the losing and mostly the maintaining of the loss. Hope you can figure out what is best for you.

Bad URI
were you meaning "Leak"? Are you worried due to all the hard coughing you might damage the stomach? Just trying to clarify.
