What kind of Protein drinks?
Unjury and Syntrax nectar are my favourite. I orderd sample packs from both companies and sample packs from another company. So far I can tolerate the other proteins (some take a bit to get used to) but prefer to drink either the Unjury and Syntrax.

Another disappointed bandster
There are some people that the lap band works for and others that have complications. Too bad you fall into the second group. If your insurance will not cover a revision I would suggest like the others have to check out self pay. If you truly want the sleeve the money spent will be totally worth it. Do your research and choose your surgeon well. Hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Got My Date!!!! March 21
Congratulations!! Getting the caffeine and carbs out of your system now will be the best thing. I did that starting one month before my surgery and I didnt have the extra suffering after from withdrawls. Plus you will probably lose some weight before hand which is always a bonus.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous!
Well I am not an expert but I have heard over the past couple of months when someone stalls they need to shake up their eating routine, exercise routine and/or increase their calorie intake to 1000 and increase their Water intake. These are only suggestions and I am not sure as to what will work for you. Hopefully you will break through the stall soon.

A week post-op and I can eat a lot...
wow you are already on mushies at one week post op. I am also one week post op and still on my Clear Liquids going to move to full liquids tomorrow. I too do not feel that "full" feeling. But if I remember from past posts it is due to the nerves that were cut from the stomach and they will take time to heal. Later you will have to recognise what your full feeling is ie nausea, hicups, running nose, sneezing and so on are some of other peoples feelings. I would still stay at the recommended amounts of food even though you do not feel "full" to protect your staple line. Also, are you on a PPI (nexium or prilosec)? The hunger could be excess acid that is making your stomach roll and you are thinking it is hunger. Hope all of this helps.

Need my sugar fix
Might be a case of head hunger. I know all I keep thinking about is cheese and the day I will be able to have some again. Ok so I am a bit of a cheese freak. Was Oreo's your go to food for comfort?

9 hours post-op. I'm not gonna lie to you, it sorta feels like I was hit by a bus
I found day 2 the worst as I was pretty much out of it on day 1. I wish I had went to Sea World or the San Diego Zoo. I guess I will have to do that another time. Heres to feeling better fast!

Compression Garments
Skin is pretty resilent and can bounce back over time depending on your skin type. There is a chance that skin will tighten up it may not be as fully as one would want. As you state if stretched skin is stretched then all pregnant women after giving birth would have a huge flap of skin left from the pregnancy that would never go away and well I have seen several women who have lost all the baby wieght and their skin is just as tight as before. Just trying to put it in perspective.

Compression Garments
That was funny BBJ! You made my day with that comment. I think I will check into compression garments to help my skin as I loose the weight. Thanks for the information Stcyt!

Stomach tenderness at 5 weeks
I have no idea, as I am just newly sleeved. Maybe call your doc and ask if its normal to feel these pains beside the incision sites. Hope you find an answer or start to feel better soon.

Drain incision with Dr. Aceves
I just had my sleeve this past week with Dr Aceves and my drain was held in place with one stitch that was removed when the drain was removed. The site is left open to heal from the inside out. I have sterile gauze over it that I change every day. He said it should take up to 15 days to heal over. Those that heal fast will probably see it close quicker.

I am sleeved!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes now off to get something to drink. I have to say the food dreams I have been having are a bit weird.

I am sleeved!
The trip was great and I went by myself! I felt perfectly safe there. I would go and walk around outside all by myself and not have a worry in the world. If your friend takes someone then that is an extra securtity. Hope this helps.
