  1. how about string cheese or peanut or other nut butters. Are you able to eat tuna or chicken salad, deli meats? Not sure where you are at in your food (liquids, mushies or further)
  2. Here is a comeback for people that will boldly say you are fat. " Whaaatt! I am fat! Well thank you for letting me know cause I had no idea until you told me!" Then you walk away laughing cause you made them feel like a total ass.
  3. pproximately 50% of the population is colonized with Helicobacter pylori and of those 80% do not show any symptoms. Check with your doctor to see if he/she would like to test you again and if needed to treat.
  4. hummm invent electric or battery operated pants to keep in the heat! Same with tops!
  5. Sending all my fast healing and pain free thoughts your way! Can not wait to hear from you when you are on the losers bench.
  6. It is the person who is giving it! I was in hospital a year back and needed Heparin shots in the stomach. I received one every day for 5 days and only the first one had a nasty bruise. The person who gave me the shot did it differently the first day than the rest of the LPN's did the other 4 days. I will clear up in due time.
  7. Straws will force more air into your tummy. Try to avoid them.
  8. Congratulations Brazcan on getting a date in Mexico! Seems like a lot of us Canucks are heading south to jump start our new health life. I agree the amount of money I would spend in the years it would take to get it paid for here I would rather just find the money now and get on with life.
  9. Heres keeping my fingers crossed that you get a bed and have your surgery! I am also sending my best wishes on a fast and painfree recovery.
  10. Love the NSV! Keep them coming.
  11. Congratulations! You look amazing and I agree that you look like you are more closer to goal than half way. Looks like you will shrink away to nothing if you were to lose 50 more lbs.
  12. And now you are almost to goal! Only 12 Lbs to go. Congratulations!
  13. The change in taste sometimes is due to anesthetic. It should get better down the road as you progress. But I have heard several post sleevers commenting on taste change for them. I think some said that it went away after awhile. I am not fully sure. I am sure one of the veterans will be able to better answer you.
  14. Have you fully checked out your surgeon? How many sleeve surgeries has he performed? How many other WLS's has he done? What are his statistics on leaks and such? You can ask him these questions and he should let you know. Best way to make you feel better is to be fully confident that this doctor is the right surgeon for you. Hope this helps you in your search for more information.
  15. I am a week and a bit behind you with Dr Aceves
  16. What an excellent post! Gives me the extra courage to keep on going.
  17. Try the 5 day pouch test to help get rid of the snacking or carb monster if you are having that problem as well. Best to nip the snacking in the bud now!
  18. All I can say is WOW. There is true family love in both sets of pictures the only difference is that you are so much smaller in the ones taken today. Thank you Tiff for sharing your success and to keep on giving the rest of us assurance that we will make it to goal some day. Love love love the photos and I must say you are looking hot hot hot.
  19. Try to find out if it is the surgery or you losing weight that he has a problem with. Sometimes your loved ones are used to a certain way of life and going and changing it causes distress. If you dig deep enough you will find the strength to do this with out your husbands help. Try to do all the shopping you need done before you leave so that when you get back you will not have to rely on him. If he truly loves you he will come around eventually. But it may take some time. In the mean time you can always come here for virtual support. And possibly find someone in your area that you can meet up with.
  20. Never herd of that word. Best is to have her ask her doctor to spell it for her. She is on the mend?
  21. http://www.si03.com/reg_index.htm You call them up and order their 13 pack sampler for 13$ and shipping is free.
  22. Call the local womens shelter and ask if they have a clothing drop off site and the hours of operation. I am sure they would be very appreciative!
  23. Sending all my best vibes on a pain free and speedy recovery to start your new healthy life.
  24. Congratulations and thank you for giving me a good laugh with your depiction of an SUV spare tire vs and off road bike! Made me think well mine must be a double wide for hauling big loads . Congrats on your NSV keep them coming
