  1. What a great team! That must make it so much better, having a solid supporter. Someone who knows what you are going thru and can help you push thru your obstacles. Congrats to the both of you! Keep up the great work...TOGETHER!
  2. Stool softeners saved me! I don't like MOM (milk of magnesia) and I don't like laxatives. Drink alot of water, exercise, and try a stool softner.
  3. I am FFFFFREEEEZING! I can't wait until summer, I will be my own AC!
  4. That is AWESOME! I am down 24 lbs in 6 weeks. I would LOVE to lose 12 more lbs in 2 weeks! :eyebrows:
  5. I am so glad that I am not the only one in this club! I have made sure to tell my children that they have to stop eating once they are full. My husband is from the clean plate club and he is trying to break that cycle too. He sometimes tells our 5 year old daughter that she needs to finish her plate, but I just give him "the look" and he reminds himself and her that if she is full, she is excused. It's so hard, we hate wasting food but we don't want our kids to develop poor eating habits either. I will definatley try the food measuring for myself. I bought a kitchen scale and haven't put it to use yet! Thanks for all the advice and support!
  6. I am still struggling with putting the fork down. I was raised to finish your plate. I am really very full and HAVE to finish those last 3 bites. Anyone else dealt with this? How do I STOP?!
  7. Thanks for sharing. You look great!
  8. WOOT WOOT! I lost 4 lbs this week! I am only 6 lbs away from the ONDERLANDS!!
  9. Try milking your tube a couple times a day. My fluid varied and I had a drain for 8 days. Sometimes it was very light, sometimes heavy. Sometimes red, sometimes clear yellow. it was normal. As long as the fluid was not milky or cloudy and you have proper suction in your bulb, you should be ok. I would call my surgeon or surg asst and double check for peace of mind.
  10. Plain and simple: We complain because we are SCARED TO DEATH THAT THIS WILL BE ANOTHER FAILED ATTEMPT AT WEIGHT LOSS. I am a little peeved that this topic is even here, but whatevs. We have been struggling with weight loss for years and we have failed. This is an extreme last resort at finally getting the weight off. It is a total head game. We KNOW that 85% of our stomach has been removed, We KNOW that we eat like birds and that we don't eat enough not to loose, We KNOW it is calories in vs calories out. We have ALL done the pre-op work. What we don't know is that if this surgery was done in vain and if we have our hopes and expectations up to high. Obviously it is the norm to be upset about the scale not moving. We have all of our hopes in this surgery and we are afraid of failing. THAT'S WHY WE COMPLAIN.
  11. My doc told me he found scars on my gallbladder during surgery but didn't remove it. He ordered an ultrasound and found that I do have gallstones. He wants to wait about 4 months before removing it. I am so scared of an attack. I have never had one, didn't even know I had gallstones.
  12. Good for you! You are un-recognizable now! LOVE the 3rd pic of the fam in the belt! You have come a long way, CONGRATS!!
  13. Congrats to you!! How exciting for that milestone! I can't wait, I am 11 pounds away!
  14. I am 11 pounds away from being in the Onderland..I can't wait! I haven't seen 100 since 2000.
  15. Checking in at 210!! I CAN'T WAIT until I get out of the 200's!
  16. I agree. I was driving my self crazy a couple weeks ago, weighing myself everyday. Now I am in the super Saturday weigh in posted by Sleeve4me. It does help to see the bigger number lost vs the 1 lb differance everyday.
  17. WOOT WOOT!! Shorties in the house!! I'm 5"2, 4 weeks post op. Total loss of 40 lbs, 20 of that is post-op. Current weight is 210.
  18. My chocolate protein shakes: skim milk, a dash of hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder, a dash of vanilla, 1 tbsp of peanut butter and 1/2 of a banana. I add a couple of milk cubes... (skim milk frozen in ice cube trays) SOOOO GOOOD!! That is the ONLY way I can drink my protein shakes now. I am so OVER them.
  19. My mom had staples removed after a tummy tuck, it looked like a staple remover and she said it did not hurt at all. HTH!!
  20. Can't wait to try! I love that they are already portioned and ready for the go!
  21. I am not interested in carbs anymore either. I do crave bread with EVOO and balsamic vinegar. That is really the only thing I want to dive into. You are still early in the game. Concentrate on your protein intake and those carb craving should go away.
  22. Had my 4 week post op today. Doing very well, Down 18 lbs since surgery, 38 total! Thank you, thank you. My Dr ordered an ultrasound of my gall bladder after surgery because he noticed scarring when he was in surgery. Come to find out, I have gall stones. He wants to remove my gall bladder in about 3-4 months. I have never had any symptoms. Now I am worried that with the rapid weight loss that I will start to have symptoms. From what I understand, gall bladder issues are quite common with those who have had WLS.....
  23. It is soooo cool seeing the changes that are happening to our bodies. I looked at the bigger picture of being thin, not expecting to appreciate all the milestones along the way.
  24. illgetyourhairdid had an idea to start a thread on your sleeve's name.... Mine was Sleevie Nicks cause my sleeve is a rock star, but I recently changed it to ..... Sleevie Wonder. What's yours?
  25. I was sleeved on Dec 5 too!! I know EXACTLEY what you mean. I cooked all these meals for my family and I sat down with my good ol' cup of broth! It is getting so much better now. I feel human again!
