  1. WOOHOO!!! Lost FOUR Lbs this week! That's what I'm talkin about! Down to 186!
  2. LOL! Where do I start? I will start with my vanity NSVs: I can wear Hi Heels again!!! I shop in the regular sections now, NOT PLUS SIZE ANYMORE! No one mistakes me for being pregnant anymore. My DH complements me all the time! My clothes are so Much cuter! Non vanity: I can see my feet!! I can buckle my shoes, I can paint my toes without struggling. I am an inspiration to members in my family that are now considering VSG. I can move so much more comfortably. I can fit in airline/stadium seats. No more back pain!
  3. Well then they should have just gotten rid of the boinking bananas! HMPH!... . HEY ADMINS....BRING THEM BACK!! (ugh. these emoticons are so LAME. LOL!)
  4. Happily progressing towards goal...2 Lbs at a time! Down to 190! 2 Lb loss this week.
  5. Ugh. This topic just made me have a heavy sigh. I haven't lost any more than my normal daily shed. I am hoping it passes me by! We will see. I will be 3 mos post op next week and I hear that the hair loss happens at month 3...*cue dramatic music*
  6. Agree. That is what I have learned from my research and from my Doc. I recently flew to Las Vegas and I did not set off any alarms in the metal detector or the full body scanner!
  7. I KNOW I get dumping syndrome. If I eat too much, I don't get the "slimes", I get the shakes. I get nauseous, hot and clammy. Same with sweets. I can't have sugar anymore. Which is probably a good thing, but I DEFINITLEY get dumping syndrome symptoms.
  8. Congrats!! Don't you just LOVE the little things?!
  9. I am SO comfortable with my sleeve. I have read that some people are scared or weary of restaurant dining. Not me! I have been out to eat several times and have CONQUERED the menu everytime. Today, I went to lunch with a friend that I haven't seen since surgery. We went to eat at our fave Mex rest. I ordered a carnitas soft taco lunch combo. I ate the "guts" out of my soft taco, a couple small bites of rice and 2 chips dipped in salsa. I was Stuffed and satisfied. Saturday, I was in SF with some girlfriends and we ate at a rest. on the pier. I had the grilled mahi mahi tacos. Again, I ate only the inside of the tacos, tried one of my gf's garlic fries and another gf's crab dip. Full and satisfied! The point I want to make is that it's OK to eat out. Don't feel like you need to seclude yourself at home, embarrased by how little you eat or not sure how to order your food. The conversation and time with loved ones will always trump your embarassment. I am comfortable and confident in my sleeve. I was sleeved so I can live again! I have been a professional dieter for so long (like many of you!) and I know how many calories are on a plate just by looking at it. I make sure to make healthy responsible decisions when I eat. I may have a nibble of the "bad stuff" but I don't dive in. That's the key. Don't let your sleeve hinder your decisions on life, embrace it and let it guide you. HTH!
  10. I really liked all the differant emoticons, now all I have to choose from are the smiley faces? What's up with that?! (Sorry, had to get on my soap box about that!) < See what I'm sayin?! I liked the old ones better
  11. WOOHOO!!! Isn't that great that you can even wear a long sleeve shirt with it?! I just purged my closet because some of my clothes were falling off of me...Won't be long before that jacket will be TOO BIG!
  12. My Dr wants all of his patients to get an ID bracelet or have an ICE card in their wallet at all times. Specifically for an NG tube.
  13. LOL! It's so funny to see all the newly 1 week post ops posting this topic. I posted the same topic at day 5! Man, the 1st month is the pits. It's true. It will be a far distant memory pretty soon though. It's only temporary. Popsicles were my saving grace. Doesn't help that I am cold ALL THE TIME, but when you need to chew, you need to chew. Try jello too. Jello was on my clear liquid diet so I think you will be OK with SF jello. Good luck. It gets SOO Much better!
  14. The easy way out is sitting on the couch stuffing your face with junk...yep. That;s the easy way out..... to your grave.
  15. So EXCITING!! I would do it over and over and over again! Good Luck!!
  16. My insurance requirements took 3 months. They wanted 3 consecutive visits with the surgeon before submitting. My insurance approved within TWO DAYS!! I was then scheduled 3 weeks out.
  17. Keep your head up. It WILL come off. There is no way it can't! Your body is still recovering and adjusting from a MAJOR surgery. Be patient. I have found the weight loss comes in peaks and valleys. I want the weight to come off yesterday too. It will come off. Hey...YOU JUST LOST 2 MORE POUNDS!!!!!!!!!! It all adds up in the end.
  18. I'm 2.5 months out. I normally shed alot of hair so I am worried that I will loose alot....Nothing so far!
  19. I had my sleeve in December. It has been great! I would do over and over again. Good luck to you. Are you thinking about getting sleeved?
  20. Sorry Ladies!! They are gone now! Whew! That went REALLY fast! I will definatley keep posting on here the next time I purge my closet!
  21. I have about 6 pairs of pants (professional style, not jeans. Maybe a couple tops too) that are a size 18/20. FREE!! Inbox me your address and I will ship tomorrow!
  22. Just downloaded! Typing this msg from my phone!! Woohoo! Now i can have VST on the go!
  23. Does your boss know about the WLS? If not, are you comfortable telling them? I finally told my boss because sometimes we have to chow our food for lunch because we don't have time. I told her, "Look, I NEED at LEAST 30 minutes for my lunch and this is why". No problems since.
