Gastric Sleeve Surgery Tomorrow Morning At 8:00am
I can only speak for myself. My surgery was a breeze. I did not wake up in any pain, very comfortable. The gas pain was my only trouble. It hurts. My pain tolerance is pretty high. It was about a constant 7. Peaks of 8.5s. Swallowing made it hurt, heparin shots and anything that went into my IV really stirred up my gas. Make sure you get up as soon as you can and WALK. WALK, WALK, WALK. It does feel better and gets the gas moving. Have some chapstick on hand, your lips may be chapped. I had some issues with the whole post-op diet, still am. It's really a mind game and it is hard at times. I am very happy that I have done it, would do it all over again. Can't wait for this time next year to see the new me! Congrats, Best of Luck and a speedy recovery to the both of you!

Is It The 3 Week Stall?
AAARRRGH!!! I have been stalled for 4 days now! What am I doing wrong? What can I do better? I am fighting this battle in my head that the weight is not going to come off and I am getting discouraged. My diet today: breakfast : 1.5 egg whites lunch: 1/4 c guacamole or 1/2 c egg drop soup dinner: 4 oz cottage cheese. water inbetween meals. I know I need ALOT more Protein in my diet, but I needed a break from the Protein Shakes (and the constapation that goes with it). sigh* What do I need to do.

Mirena
UGH. I had the mirena in 2007 and had it removed in 2008. My periods STILL have not regulated since I had it. I used to be like clock work. My husband could feel it and ...between us ladies...you tend to discharge more. I hated it. It HURT when they put it in. Sorry to be such a "debbie Downer" but I HATED my mirena. Others I know Love it, I'm just giving you my version of "the bad and the ugly". No problems either way with weight loss or gain or hair loss. That's the brighter side.

Super Saturday Weigh In
Wait...you mean I SHOULDN'T weigh myself 1000 times a day?! PSH. that's unheard of! OK..OKAY!! I'm in. Me weighing myself everyday isn't doing me any good anyway. I see the 1lb loss everyday and I just shrug my shoulders, unimpressed. I think I will appreciate the big number vs all the small ones. Sigh* 12/24~ 214

The Clears.... The Clears!
My surgeon and NUT have a 1 week progression towards full, 1 week to puree, 1 week to soft. Soft will last 2 weeks. Talk to your Nut and see if you can have full liquids a little early. some Drs are pretty strict.

Going On A Date..what To Eat?
ALWAYS ask that you be served 1/2 and box the other 1/2. That way, it looks like less on your plate, and just let him know that you know that you won't be able to finish.

What Didnt You Use That You Brought For Yourgastric Sleeve Surgery Hospital Stay?
I lugged my lap top to the hospital and didn't use it. There was no wifi in the hospital and I was napping so much that I didn't need it. Less is more.

Not Feeling "full"
I had that same problem when i was a few days out. i noticed that i didn't get the traditional feeling of full, I started burping alot (little tiny burps, not big belches) and I would have pressure in my chest. Now I can feel full. I was told that our tummies are still swollen and kind of numb so we can't really tell just yet. I just started feeling the traditional sense of full a couple days ago, still with the burps too. Slowly eat, make sure you take at least 30 minutes to eat, put your fork/spoon down after every bite and listen to your new body.

Gall Bladder Issues after Weight Loss Surgery
My surgeon mentioned he saw a scar on my gallbladder. I will be having an ultrasound on Monday, but now I am nervous. My mom had hers removed a few years ago after an attack. I am starting a new job in January and will be losing my insurance for a few months. I would almost like it removed now just to be on the safe side.

First "success"
LOL!! Good for you!! I also did a happy dance today, I fit into my 18's! No shimmy shakes or jumping, or laying down to button. They FIT! I was soo happy! I called my husband in to show him and he did a little dance for me too. Doesn't it feel great to see the change so soon?! We are sleeve sisters because we had ours on the same day, so I find it great that you are having great results like I am. And guess what...I HAVE A NECK TOO!!

Can We Get Back To Support And Stop Attacking Each Other Please?
I was a part of the forum in question. I know I sent some encouraging words and some straight advice "Just get thru the next 4 days, you really have no choice at this point. This journey will not be easy, but it will be worth it. This stage is only temporary. Short term scarifice, long term gain. " I think that the forum had some people that were concerned about the way trhe person that posted it came across. She was very upset that she was on liquids 10 days out and was saying to anyone that read her topic, that you should not do the surgery, its not worth it, she regrets it 100% etc. I think everyone wanted top give her some advice and do damage control at the same time. She was frustrated, and hit a brick wall in her recovery. I don't think anyone was "cutting her down", just giving tough LOVE. Sometimes we need a kick in the pants to get us up and going, instead of wallowing in our own pitty and misery. I LOVE VST. I am so grateful to everyone on here, giving me words of encouragement and advice. .....although NOONE has OFFICIALLY welcomed me to the looser's bench... Am I going to post a tpoic saying noone cares and noone should come to this site because its unsupportive..ABSOLUTLEY NOT! Everyone is here like a family and sometimes family does get on each other's nerves...but it's all in LOVE for each other.

I Want To Cheat - 10 Days Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I agee with Ocean Ophelia. You are hitting a brick wall and you just need to take it one day at a time and break thru it. . I am 10 days out too, feel your pain, and DYING for real food. I am on full liquids that includes applesauce and strained Soups. I am having a really hard time not eating, but I am down 11 pounds and starting to get the hang of this new little tummy I have. I am guilty of chewing and spitting, just because I am so tired of sweets and want the flavor and texture of food in my mouth again!!! I am not recommending it, but DAMN it is gooood! Just get thru the next 4 days, you really have no choice at this point. This journey will not be easy, but it will be worth it. This stage is only temporary. Short term scarifice, long term gain.

What Gastric Sleeve Surgery Dreams Have You Had?
I have TONS of post op dreams!! One pre-op dream. I dreamt that I ate food the day before my surgery and I couldn't have the surgery. My post op dreams are all about eating. I have had several dreams that I ate before I was supposed to and I freak out!! I dream that I eat chips or a steak and after I swallow, I think "OH CRAP!! WHAT HAVE I DONE?!" I think they are anxiety dreams..

Spit - dont swallow!
*sigh* okay, so it is "normal"!! Day 4, I was going CRAZY!! I needed to CHEW! I have chewed and spit a bread stick, a bite of spaghetti, a bbq chip, a green bean, and a bite of steak. it is so HARD drinking your food everyday! I am so glad I am not the only one. I felt so ashamed, but glad to know I am in good company!
