  1. i take Clartin and it comes in a liquid form, i use it for my daughter because she cant swallow a pill yet. It tastes HORRIBLE though, i tried it, it tastes worse than Nyquil
  2. So i called insurance co. this morning, and............was APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As of November 9. Guess with Veterans day the mail is moving slow......called Doc office and let them know, felt sorry for the poor lady after i got off the phone, i called her at 8:01 on Monday morning and was jabbering a million miles a minute............i was probably the first voice she heard this morning lol. She said doc would look over my file and call me this week with a date!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He better hurry :-)
  3. they also ask about your family if you have a support group to help you when you get home, if you will be emotionally taken care of...all kinds of good stuff. Dont sweat it too bad, the shrink who did mine said he had been doing psych eval for 10 years and only 2 had not been approved and in his words one was coocoo for coco puffs and one had a serious eating disorder........
  4. I am still waiting for approval also, been 3 weeks tomorrow, atleast i know it has to come this week....Im hoping for a dec sleeve as well.
  5. It got better for awhile there and then I started getting shy again (very self conscious) of my sharpei skin on my inner thighs, upper arms, belly and my super deflated boobs (which I've lovingly started referring to as my Deflated pancake Boobs). LOL If sex with clothes on were a possibility I'd never leave the house :tongue2: Thats why victoria Secret was invented :-) You can fit into it now, so go on a crazy shopping spree, the hubs wont even be mad when he sees you in all the naughty goodness :blush2: and for the D.P.Bs get a wonderbra, they really are wonderful. Im not too worried about the boobs, ive always been well endowed even before i gained all the weight......one of m blessings.
  6. try sugerfree popsiscles maybe? that will atleast keep you from being dehydrated........it will probably only last a few days.
  7. I was wondering about this too. Im actually pretty excited about the "after" sex. My husband and i have a good sex life but i get insecure and worry about positions and get leg cramps. I cant wait till afterwards, when i am liftable :blush5:
  8. Honestly quitting smoking will probably be the hardest part. I dont smoke but ive watched many people in my family struggle and its hard, and you usually eat more when you quit smoking, i think its the hands, you dont know what to do with them... Dunno. It takes 21 days to break a habit, and they say to replace it with a good habit. So maybe when you wanna smoke, be active? That will start programming your brain and you will start exercising more, which we all need to get into the habit of doing for after the surgery. Good luck!!
  9. and dont stress about the psych eval. you will just talk to the doc, he will ask you some questions about your life, your family, how much of a support group you will have after surgery. Just be honest. It will breeze through before you know it. GOOD LUCK on the last 8 pounds. On your liquid diet, get in the protein, that will help you be less hungry.
  10. I am still waiting, it is 2 weeks today. I am deathly worried about being denied, but i did all my insurance required (6 months of doc visits and BMI of atleast 40) worried that i didnt lose enough weight during 6 months...........
  11. I watched a few youtube videos of people who had been sleeved, and one of the guys had a card stating he had weight loss surgery. It fit in your wallet and you were supposed to be able to show it at restaurants and be able to get the child or senior menu with no hassle. Has anyone else heard of that or recieved one at the doctor? Just curious. My family all gets together atleast biweekly and goes out for a nice dinner. Would like to be able to eventually eat with them and i know i wont be able to eat a whole meal.
  12. I also just sent in all my paper work for insurance, my surgeons office told me they tell you 30 days as a precaution and usually hear in 2-3 weeks so i would give your office a call in another week or so and maybe you can get it done before the end of the year. Its been a week tomorrow for me and ive been checking my phone like i am waiting for a hot boy to call back in high school.
  13. At mine, they went over all those things that everyone above said, and i had it in my mind i was going to do the band (this was before i found this sight) and the doc talked to me about all the different WLS options and that is when he told me he thought i should go with the sleve but would do the band if i decided. I also had a list of questions and he said throughly and sincerely. You need to make sure he goes everything to your sastification and answers all your questions, and it doesnt seem like he is rushing you!! He is getting paid very well to take care of you.
  14. i just sent in my paperwork to get approved from insurance, it should take 2 weeks to get approved and my doc said there are still appts available in Nov so being sleeved before thanksgiving is in my sights. I see it as I have enjoyed 25 atleast Thanksgivings Christmass and New Years, what is one year? You will have to get used to not eating and as someone else said no time is a good time. I am just going to enjoy my puddings, chocolare flavored protein shakes and deal cause i will be in a bikini by next summers vacation :-)
  15. I have Highmark BCBS and sent everything in for approval on Fri. Doc office told me it could take up to 30 days but usually only takes 2 weeks. Hearing that a lot of people got approved so fast makes me even more anxious i am practically climbing the walls. Want to be done with this by the end of the year so i can start the new year fresh.
  16. i finished my 6 months of required doc visits fri, have already had all testing, nutritionist visit, psych eval. am just waiting impatiently for insurance approval, doc office said it could take up to a month but it usually takes 2 weeks, not to call before then. Am really worried because i have hypothyroid which made it freaking hard to lose any weight during my 6 month visits but i did get into a good workout rountine and started my post-diet eating habits.
  17. my veins are small also, collapse when touched and roll, its been awful trying to get blood from me, i have to do the same, just show them my wrist and say 'this is it'. I have thyroid disease which is why i decided to have the surgery and i was having bloodwork every month, they busted a lot of veins because the tech thinks they know better than myself. After barfing on ones shoes after 10 minutes of digging they listen to me every time now lol. Just be up front and let them know. If you have to have more bloodwork tell them to use a butterfly needle it made all the difference for me!
