  1. Being tire and fatigued is very normal you probably want to try and stomach more protein, or broth or just something else to give you a little more energy. Hang in there!
  2. Is this the same thing as putting the food in the blender?
  3. I'm 3 weeks out now and I passed out today. I called the doc and they said its cuz I'm not getting enough calories. I'm at about 500 cal but I still get in at least 90 g protein plus all my liquids. In still 70 lbs above goal they say I should be at 800-1000 calories a day now.
  4. You ARE making the right decision, this is for your health and happiness. Its a tool that you have for the rest of your life to manage your weight and keep it under control so you can live at a healthy weight and get rid of the excess fat. Think about all the positive health benefits you will be gaining.
  5. I hate those seats and those evil little half tables that you can barely fit your books and papers on anyway
  6. I just thought of another. Being able to sit in the desks in an auditorium classroom without being uncomfortable !
  7. Lol yeah right I barely cook haha. I might show my dad the recipe and see what he can whip up he loves cooking. Then we can both enjoy it lol
  8. I cannot wait to go the amusement park and not stand in fear awaiting if I will fit in the dreaded seat or not!

Now Im starting to feel like Im eating too much!
  10. I just looked up the tagine recipe and it looks sooo good! Do you make it yourself or can you get it premade?
  11. You will do great, just keep thinking positive and try to stay busy. The last few hours are the worst I know, I didnt even sleep the night before. Keep a strong support system and just know that you are gonna get through this! I wish you all the best health and happiness, hope you have a speedy recovery.
  12. Have you tried doing arm circles? Its just sticking your arms straight out on your sides with your fingers pointed out and moving your arms in circles. You can do big circles then small front to back. Maybe doing those a couple times a day would help? Good luck and congrats on the weight loss!
  13. Have you asked your doc about anti nausea meds? Sometimes I get the nausea feeling at night bc I feel like I ate/drank too much throughout the day even though Im only at like 500 calories....but I take ondansetron disintegrating tablets and it knocks it right out within 15 minutes. Maybe that would be an option to talk to your doc about?

I've been trying and trying and it seems impossible. I have found this peter pan natural Peanut Butter though, for 1 tblspn its 105 cal, 3g carbs, 2g sugar, 4g Protein. So not only are the carbs and sugar low but you get 4g of protein and 105 calories. I've been adding a 1/2 teaspoon to my shakes in the morning and night. If you heat it in the microwave for like 20 seconds it comes out thin and its much easier to get down too!
  16. In short, your stomach is muscle and the pyloric valve connects the stomach to the small intestine. When you eat and drink at the same time you stimulate the pyloric sphincter to open which in turn empties your stomach so that you can eat more. So basically when you drink and eat you turn the switch on to let more food pass and you dont get the true sensation of being "full", you don't want this because you can start eating more and you can get the cues from your body mixed up.
  17. I feel relieved to know that Im not the only one with a problem getting things down. Im 2 weeks post op today and my dad is getting on me so hard that Im not eating enough calories. I go to school and its so straining on me I can barely come home and do my homework and studying, he is convinced its because I dont eat enough. I manage to get down 3 protein shakes a day 2 of which have some lactose free milk which adds some calories but Im at about 90g protein a day but less than 500 calories sometimes. I try to do a couple spoons of mashed refried beans, natural no sugar added peanut butter, or unsweetened applesauce. Those things get old fast. Im so tired of protein it took me 4 hours to drink my morning shake! Does anyone know of any good soups that are low in carbs and sugar? Or even something I can put in the blender thats not a "cream" soup. Those are too dense for some reason and they hurt going down. Thanx =P

When I went for my 1 week check up the nurse explained I should be eating 800-1000 calories. I don't see any way this is possible I've been trying for the last couple days and I can only get up to about 600 calories. I drink a Protein shake in the morning that's 185 cal with lactose free milk. Then 4oz apple juice that's about 130. For lunch I have another Protein Shake 100 cal. Then dinner I do refried Beans about 60 cal and another protein about 110 cal. This whole daily calorie intake is 585 and I'm stuffed! Just with this im at 70+g protein pushing almost 60 g carbs. Sometimes I'll do sugar free Popsicle or Jello but that's only 15-30 calories. What else can I have that's low in sugar and carbs but has some calories. I'm extremely tired. Thanx for any input.
  19. I love to see all these posts. just made my morning so much better.
  20. If anyone else has any "little things" please share. I would love to hear about those moments.
  21. I had my surgery on march 1st so I'm almost 2 weeks post up. I have lost 15 lbs since surgery and 50 since I started on my weight loss journey in Jan 2011. When I went back to class from spring break someone said to me "Wow ur face is really slimming up" and I've also been getting so many compliments from ppl I haven't seen. I can slowly see the change in my face and body and I'm just super excited. Those little things, like comments from ppl or a glance in the mirror as you pass by feel soo good! Throughout the day I genuinely feel just more happy overall. I'm so glad I took this journey and even though it's just the start it feels so good. Just wanted to share. You guys are so inspirational and uplifting for me
