Self Worth
Lately I've been pondering quite a lot about the issues of loneliness, confidence, but also self worth. I had a very "open" (to say the least) conversation with my dad last night and he really put things into perspective for me. First and foremost if anyone is having emotional problems due to confidence, self worth, depression, or just plain loneliness we must fight these emotions from taking over. I tried for too long to hold my feelings inside and deal internally but at some point I feel like I emotionally exploded. But this is exactly what I needed to get my life into perspective. I think I had confidence and self worth mixed up this whole time. You can put on make up, do your hair, wear some flattering clothes (Even at 260 lbs) and walking around head held high with tons of confidence..... but this in no way shape or form implies that you also have self worth. In order to find self worth we must look inside of ourselves. Its mostly at the deepest darkest hours, for me when I hit a point of absolute loneliness. Going to school full time, working, and studying I barely have time for myself or anyone else for that matter, but in one instant when my week slowed down and I laid on my bed in looked around it hit me. Loneliness. It soon spiraled out of control where I felt like I was almost going into a depression. For what reason? Because I feel like I need someone? Now I know that its not someone else that I need, no one will ever be able to fill that space of loneliness. That's a part of me that I need to heal. I've talked with my father, as well as a wiser woman that I look up to for advice. Things are not perfect for me now by any means, but I see them getting better. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Whenever I feel those feelings of loneliness I fill my time with things that I like to do. Whether it be reading, writing poetry, cycling, or even studying. Those are the times that I can reflect, and once Im truly happy with myself, I know I could be happy with someone else. So now I start to see how self worth fits into the bigger picture. People can tell me all day that Im pretty, Im smart, I dont need surgery. But its not about them, or their opinions. Its about what I think of myself, that negative voice in the back of my head that laughs or has a sarcastic remark for every compliment. Its a long journey but Im overcoming that obstacle. Spiritually, mentally, and physically. I will learn my self worth, and in the process I will find the true me.

Recommend A Great Protein Bar
You can bring a little baggie of protein with you and a bottle of water then whenever you need a boost just mix it together for a quick shake. I bring this with me to school and usually just get water from the water fountain and drink it while i walk to my next class

Low End Bmi To Qualify For Gastric Sleeve...don't Want To Lose Too Much?
Does anyone know, if you are already approved for surgery but your weight goes below the bmi they require because of the pre op diet, can they cancel or stop it?

Approved For Surgery But What If My Bmi Drops Too Low?
So I was approved for my surgery following a long year of denial letters and appeals. I am approved to have it before July, When I first started this journey I was 260+ but since then Ive lost to about 235 (A lot has to do with stress from school and not eating). I have my surgery scheduled for March 1st and based on my bmi now Im at 40.5 On the document 40 is the lowest bmi so if I do the doctors pre op Protein diet and lose more weight could they still deny me the day of the surgery if my bmi is lower than 40???? Any experiences, recommendations, or advice I would greatly appreciate. Im pulling my hair our over here worrying.

What Was Your Post Op Diet Like?
Hey thanx so much for your imput Im def going to try and follow your routine. Im T-24 days till I have my surgery but Im trying to work out 4-5 times a week and eat really good just so my body will get used to these habits and it wont be so hard after I recover from the surgery. Do you do a lot of working out at home or are you more of a gym person? Im going to look up the myofusion now Protein shakes seem so expensive so the more I can get for my money the better, do you get it on any specific website. Also what you were saying about building more muscle, I know once I start doing weight trainging and all that I will loose weight but also gain muscle. Now of course Im not trying to be hulk holgan but would you suggest that type of intake for women as well? I want to do whatever is necessary to not have saggy skin lol. Im only 24 so I hope my age and good genes of skin elasticity plays a role but Im going to try my hardest to not go into the realm of having anymore surgeries. Again thank you so much for your advise.

Has Anyone Been Denied And Resubmitted Paperwork A Second Time.
Hey just to chime in I was actually denied twice and had to have my doctor file an appeal through another company to get approved. Don't give up, my doctor was telling me they deny a lot of people before you get approved.

What Was Your Post Op Diet Like?
I've been roaming around looking through posts but I cant seem to find any answers Whats it like post op as far as diet? Are you drinking Protein shakes for the rest of your life? Can anyone take me week by week as far as their diet and what they could tolerate. Also what is an appropriate amount of protein to consume? Whats it like a couple months down the line? I have my pre surgery visit like 4 days before my surgery so I want to make sure Im prepared in advance. Thanx =)

Cheap Protein Shakes
Im going to have my surgery during my spring break from school but I was just wondering from everyone out there. What is the cheapest way to get the protein shakes for the 2 week pre op diet. Also for after surgery bc Im assuming I need some then too. I just paid for my school semester and now Im paying the deductible for the surgery so I am really broke. Any suggestions for inexpensive options? Thanks =)

Introduction
Hey just wanted to update I finally got my surgery approved after 1 year of going back and forth with the insurance company. Im waiting on a call back from the doctor to schedule and see what time would be best for me. Im wondering I can just get it done during spring break from school or if I would need more time to recover. Either way Im getting it done and Im so excited and happy. Thanks for all the support !

WELLMARK BCBS OF IOWA
First off congratulations ! I too have BCBS of Iowa, and they denied for not having the chronic corticosteriod use as well, I went to ENT who prescribed nasonex and gave me a running prescription to be filled for 12 months. When they say history of chronic use does that just mean I have to be using it for at least a 3 month period? I have a feeling Im also going to run into another snag with this one. Any type of info on that would greatly be appreciated I tried to call them myself and the customer service couldnt even explain it to me. Thanks so much =)

A lot of people say its hard to drink after the surgery, were you a big h2o drinker before the surgery? Sorry, Im just curious =)
