wowaweewa!!!! I am choosing to have this surgery because I do not want to be that angry person who is not satisfied with themself because of excess weight and lack of energy and gusto for life... I am extremely healthy as an obese person... I never get the flu shot I have never had the flu.. I'm never sick or ailing and I recently had blood work done and I do not have diabetes or any other co mobidity... BUT I am 85 lbs from my goal weight!. I have struggled with my weigt my whole life and even though physically I can out run a bunch of skinny broads... Its a hell of alot harder carrying around all of this weight! I don't believe the others were ridiculing your lifestyle but merely trying to offer some get real advice! I hope you journey is great!

I'm travelling alone too!.. I will have a facilitator therefor me but other than that I'm aloooooone! Lol we can do it solo!

Dr. Phil had a couple on the show where the wife doesnt want to be intimate because she has gained weight and feels like a failure!!!. Unattractive and less of a woman. This is exactly how my relationship is.. my hubby always tried to help me on all of my diets.. but when i failed and failed and failed.. i felt like such a failure and it took such a toll on our relationship!!.. i feel so bad for her... but when i see her i think to myself, im so glad that will never be me again.. anybody else in that boat with me?

thanks meangene for the update!!!... my husby is not coming with me either.. but thats because he is on an exercise with the military.. he will be home 2 days after i get back from the surgery!.. lose140, my surgery date is oct 1.. its creeping up fast only 8 more days now!!! eeeeek!

my husby is skinny (bmi 22) and loving and at first he was very apprehensive about me doing this... it is alot of money and we will be paying for this for a long time... but i told myself that if he was going to fight with me to the point where it was him or the surgery.. unfortunately i had made up my mind i was going to do it regardless!! BUT... a happy ending is in order because he started to research it on his own and together we applied for financing and he could not be more happy that i just might be that teenage girl who had so much spunk and life that he met 5 years ago! but thats not the point either.. i just want to be healthy and not let my shame over my body take me away from many life experiences that i want to do!

i know me either... this definitely will not be my last time in Cali!!!.. because i have lived on the eastern side of Canada... i have been to all of the east coast states... and along the northern states up to north dakota!... i love to travel so this whole experience is going to be wonderbar!! hahahah... I cant wait!!!

Div!!... so i want to say that i totally understand where u are coming from about wanting to have another bad habit as to stop gaining weight... or better yet lose weight!>.. when i was in highschool ... i wanted to be anorexic so that i could be skinny.. this is totally ridiculous now when i think back on this.. but my hunger always got the best of me.. and also my common sense took over .. and i never went through with it... i really dont think i could if ii tried... but i did play a million different sports and i did get down to a wonderful 130lbs .. and that was the best ever.. but as i stopped playing sport after sport... i have gained a wonderful 85lbs!!! ugh! im so glad to have found a solution to my lifes struggle with weight!! <3 Im also so glad that you are feeling free and loving everyday!

(sounds like deeve) lol... i am already shortening your name .. hahha... well... im not so much scared anymore ... im just ready to get there... its one week today that i will be taking my flight to San Diego.. im literally flying accross North America... im so psyched.. and it will literally be my first time seeing the pacific ocean or setting foot in Cali!! eeeeek!!.. haha..and Mexico too...i ve never been there either... this is going to be a great experience!

hey theresa .... I haven't gone in for surgery just yet... Only 9 more days now!!... I'm really just getting anxious to get there and start living my new life!.. I want to be a pilot in the airforce and so this surgery is going to help me achieve some pretty difficult life goals.. But I'm so ready and I want to make my wls community proud!! ... Can't wait to be there!

iam so infamous for underpacking its unreal!! Lol... So I need all the help I can possibly get hehehe!.. I will make sure to compile all of this to ensure this time I will be prepared.. I mean surgery is pretty intense.. Not the time to under pack!

question.. if i normally am able to fall asleep with the snap of two fingers.. do you still think i will need a mask??? i will definitely not be forgetting my ipod thats for sure!! thanks for all of the pointers! :001_tongue:

hhahaha you've got that right... its so nice to have all of you here.. i have been keeping this from alot of people in my life and its just great that i can say what im thinking in regards to this where others know how im feeling and get it!!! <3

ugh! thats awful!! I really hope that things straighten up for you... if you have to pay the deductable are you able to take a credit line out or something? I know its not ideal but it will put you in the position to start off your new life post sleeve! <3 i hope it all works out well!
