I am three years post op and I get hungry. Hunger is the bodies natural response to the need of food. If your looking for never being hungry I dont think that will happen. You have to work with some of this yourself. If you're still hungry every two to three hours then maybe your not really hungry. If you are really hungry then maybe you're eating the wrong things to keep you full. I still get hungry even at three years post op and no I am never going to be filled up because that is the problem. Everyone is in a hurry to get filled up then what happens? You have nothing to work with. Try to control some of your hunger yourself. Take some hoodia. It works wonders. You can't depend solely on the band to completely take away your hunger.

cheryl2586 got a reaction from SanslastChance in Tummy Tuck Or Paniculectomy
I am 20lbs to goal and I am going to do something with this stomach after the first of the year. Here is my question dilemma, what ever you want to call it. The top part of my stomach is flat but the bottom part hangs a bit and is wide and I know that even with 20 more pounds it is not going to go. I really do not want a full Tummy Tuck because I really don't think I need it and a paniculectomy is way less money and to just get rid of that part would make me happy. I am tired of wearing long shirts just to cover that part up. Im not really fat anymore anywhere else. I went from a 50 DD to a 44 c so I am happy even if they are sagging lol. My legs are like sticks and my arms too. Its just that ole hang over that is annoying the crap out of me. I wear Spanx to hide it but I know its there. What say you?

But you won't be on Protein Shakes forever so why even get it. Buy a cup with a mixing ball for 14.99 and call it a day. You shouldn't be drinking shakes past six months post op if even then maybe 3.

You have to go cold turkey and never eat it again. I can't and won't I have worked to hard to have sugar of any kind. As a matter of fact I was in chili's today eating a grilled chicken salad and the waitress told me if you fill out this card you can get free Desserts and appetizers and I told her I eat neither. I never order and appetizer or do I eat any sweets ever. Its all about what you want. Giving up sugar will help speed up your weight loss

I was banded in 2009. The day of surgery I was tipping the scales at 287lbs. The first six months was heaven and 70lbs gone. I decided to quit smoking at that point and my weight loss stalled. I got my first fill a year later and still was not losing weight. I started putting weight back on after smoking not because I was eating the wrong things but because my no metabolism body, really had none now. I went and got a second fill and still lost no weight. This year I was determined that I was getting below 200lbs if it killed me. My doctor suggested I try the ideal Protein diet to get my body in quick ketosis and she promised I would lose weight. In two months I lost 40lbs and this morning I am 182 and three pounds away from the 170's. Even though we all have surgery, it is not always the answer to get to our goal weight. Sometimes we have to push through and do without some things to get there. I am now a vegan and feeling happy with myself. Giving up meat was not an option for me because I can not eat meat any longer. I do however make a darn good black bean casserole.
So what am I saying? To all of you who are struggling to get to goal or are newly banded or getting banded, sometimes this journey isnt always easy. Sometimes weight loss stalls for months and in my case for a year. I never quit even though I was not losing. I was maintaining at that time. I needed help to get me to where I am because no matter what I did I could not get my weight to move. Patience is a necessity for this to work.
I am sitting at my desk and my stomach is no longer sitting in my lap. I don't cheat ever and being a vegan is not half bad. It is a journey that you must make up your mind that you will not cheat til you get to goal. I have not had one piece of anything sweet in three years. I don't miss it. I do not eat fast food and have not in three years. I don't miss it. One day I did go to Wendy's and get a chicken sandwhich and I spit it out on the first bite. It was really disgusting. My taste have changed but my body is thanking me.
You all can do this with perseverance and determination and when you stall don't ever give up.

Well if you need to eat at night then eat Protein. The mayo, Cookies and crackers are definitely not helping you. I dont eat after 6 but if I get hungry I grab a boiled egg or something like that or make some scrambled eggs. You have to think of the end result ahead of you. You can do this you just have to put your mind to it.

Once I am detoxed from carbs and sugar then I am good. If you do this for a couple weeks not only will you lose the six pounds but probably more

I would say no. If your going that long without eating then you are fine. I am three years banded and I still get hungry. I don't understand the concept that lap band patients have that they won't ever get hungry. Hunger no matter what weight loss surgery you have is the bodies natural response to needing food.< /p>
