  1. As long as your moving you should have nothing to worry about. Walk and do ankle pumps when in bed.
  2. I went to the OR at 1:15 I was in recovery by 2:30 and that was with the prep in the OR once I got there. I think it depends on the surgeon, how many he has done, and other things. He said it took him 45 minutes from start to finish.
  3. Its a cup measured. If you are having issues getting protein in at this point I would say drink a shake. How far out are you.
  4. Could also be the turkey or chicken they don't work for me either. Call the surgeon but your intolerance to meat might be happening since getting a fill.
  5. Well lruthie20 you don't personally know me so you saying I was being harsh is like judging your patients that they are insane now isnt it. I was not being harsh simply stating that is sabatoge 3 weeks out. We dont know how little her little plate was or how much her seconds were and I dont care what you think because personally I have worked my full butt off to get the weight off. You see yes the band does make it easier to eat less but the band does not make it impossible to eat more if you do it right. So before you tell me my words are harsh, meet me in person, know the real me then tell me that I am harsh ok ;0 because I take care of people every single day of my life and no I am not harsh so you judging me was as bad as you thinking I was judging her. I was just stating a fact. At three weeks out you should not be going for seconds. She said she stuffed herself. Did you read that part. What do you consider stuffing?? It's the same behavior that got all of us where we are. So don't tell me I'm harsh when you dont know me.
  6. GNC makes good chewables. Please do not take iron unless you are iron deficient it can cause heart problems. No one should be taking iron unless you are anemic. Or you iron stores are low.
  7. Also sugar free candy is not a low calorie food. Five of them pack a whopping 250 calories. Not to mention the laxative effect. I wouldnt bother they are a waste of calories to me.
  8. I agree. If you think the medication will help you lose weight then wait. It can't hurt only be an added benefit if you have surgery but the choice is yours.
  9. I'm not judging you I'm telling you the truth. You can't expect to lose weight by stuffing yourself or eating pie and water gate salad. The only thing healthy that I see that you ate was Turkey and Veggies whatever they may be. No I don't stuff myself and havent for three years and you know why? Because that is what got me weighing almost 300lbs. No the love of food will never die but learning to love yourself more needs to grow. Holidays are not about food but about spending time with your loved ones.
  10. Yes the lapband is to let you eat what you want in moderation not seconds and thirds and all the stuff you ate. No way no how can you eat that much you stuffed yourself and well I for one don't condone what you did. You just sabotaged yourself just three weeks out. It's called restraint. It's called not eating crap on holidays because you used to. It's called enjoying your family not still being in love with food.
  11. You went back for seconds? Seriously and you are only three weeks post op? Oh my I shut my mouth. The pie alone killed you.
  12. Shake yourself off and move on. We all have bad days. This was yours. Just remember how you feel today for Christmas.
  13. Good luck Banjo you will do great. We all have faith in you and you will absolutely shine in this new year ahead. Glad you got your wish. As I always say wishes do truly come true.
  14. Good for you congrats on your decision
  15. You lost that much weight in a month? Congrats on your weight loss.
  16. Well heck yeah when you reach restriction the band will stop you from eating certain things. What about the things that get stuck and never go down. It stopped me from eating them. So to say the band will never stop you from eating things that is also a misconception. It is also a misconception that it will stop you from being hungry. Hunger may be longer in between meals but hunger is the bodies natural response to needing food. I am at restriction and I still get hungry just not as much as I used too.
  17. Because surgeons use electrical cauterizing equipment that jewelry interferes with. Most places if you absolutely can not get your rings off and refuse to have them cut off will put a bandaid over it to counter act the metal.
  18. I can not for the life of me understand why people post stuff that needs medical attention. No she should not wait til tomorrow she should go now. It is not our place to say why she should wait. It is no ones business to bash a poster for telling her not to post this when in fact she shouldnt. I have seen way too many post that I am having chest pain, leg pain, stomach pain. Go to the ER so you don't regret it. Everyone else that is telling her to wait you do not have the right or the professional stance to say that. Go to the ER now.
  19. Enjoy the time with your family. Eat some mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. You will do fine. Take some of your own stuff and enjoy the time with your family. Holidays are not about food anymore for us.
  20. If you havent had fruit in a while then it might be causing you stomach to upset.
  21. Brush your teeth. It helps lol but it does.
