  1. I just had surgery on Saturday, with Dr. Almanza, and I too am having np with my liquids. No heartburn, I also tried a bite of applesauce and np at all. I find myself getting hungry and would like to add some mushies, but will wait until at least next week before I give that a try. I bought some Gatorade today that has protein in it and that seems to be helping with the actual hunger. I know I have head hunger with some of the cravings and all the great food I see on TV.
  2. Thanks lorip :-) I will do my best to post as soon as possible. My ticker is a day off, I think I was thinking about the day I would be arriving in San Diego, who knows, maybe I just didn't do the math correctly
  3. Fendo, Will you still be at the Recovery House tomorrow? They are picking me up at the airport at 9:00, so I'm guessing I will be there around 9:30 or so to begin the bloodwork and such. Have you seen Ally? I've been thinking of her today too and wondering how things went for her.
  4. Thank you Terrih1. I'm getting pretty excited. My hubby is with me and he is nervous and can't understand why I'm not. I explained to him that I put great thought and research into this and made the decision that this is the right thing for me, I made the decision that it is worth the slight chance of risk. Since I made the decision and have prayed as well as having many others praying for me, I have no reason to be nervous. At this point, whatever happens is simply out of my control and I am content with that. I hope you are spared the nervousness as I have. When is your surgery with Almanza? I will do my best to post my experience as soon as posssible, Best wishes to you too!
  5. Congrats! Praying your recovery is going well. I get my sleeve tomorrow
  6. So glad to hear your recovery is going so well. I leave for San Diego early in the morning. My surgery is Saturday
  7. Best of luck, will be thinking of you.
  8. This post is so inspirational! I love the way Pasquini started it, what skcunningham added and the rest of the posts, this makes me happy
  9. Prayed for you Kendra, can't wait to read all about your experience! LaTasha, Ally is having surgery with Almanza on Friday, and I will have mine there on Saturday, will you be in the recovery house Friday and Saturday?
  10. I will be flying back home on the 13th so I will barely miss you. Best of luck to you!
  11. Congrats on your success! Thank you for the advice and words of encouragement. My surgery is this Saturday so right now I am struggling with the pre-op diet. I get very hungry, sometimes shaky and other times nauseous. Any advice for the pre-op diet? My BMI is 42.
  12. Congrats! Dr. Almanza is doing my surgery on the 10th
  13. I made an appointment with my family doctor and explained my situation to her and she is filling out the form for me. My surgeons office provided me with a statement saying I was scheduled for the surgery, that is all my family doc needed so she could fill out my FMLA documents. I hope this helps!
  14. Wishing you all the best! I'm guessing your not sleeping well at this point, I don't think I will be able to sleep at all next week. I hope you have a healthy and speedy recovery.
  15. Thank you so much for the well wishes mamamckenzie. TexasGal, I will be praying for you!
  16. That must be an amazing feeling! We all have had some type of experience that caused us to feel 'not normal' and like some out cast in society! The worse for me was when I couldn't fit into one of the roller coaster seats at Cedar Point. I'm thankful they had a seat stationed outside the ride, before you got in line so you coud see if you were able to fit and put the seatbelt on properly, otherwise I would have gone through the line and wasted a lot of time and been really embarrassed when I finally reached the end of the line. So, it's moments like yours that makes us feel so free and like we do belong in society. Keep up the good work, you are doing GREAT!
  17. Thank you for the wonderful reply Nilesmama!
  18. I'm looking forward to good health! Also feeling comfortable in clothes again and not feeling like I constantly have to place something over my belly when I sit, like no one knows I'm fat under there
  19. Mine is Sept. 10th with Dr. Almanza. I love the warmer idea! Where do you get the protein samples? I also like the idea of crystal light pops So glad God is in control because when I try to take control things get all messed up!
  20. YAY Pam and Sara!!! Can't wait to read your experiences and watch you shrink
  21. That is Awesome!!! Wow, I can't imagine how you must feel. You have worked very hard and deserve to bask in you weekend NSV and have many more! I bet you can fit a lot more pairs of pants in a load of laundry now
  22. Im in agreement, go for it! My 25th High school reunion is next year and I can't to see what kind of make overs I will want to do after I shed some of these pounds so I can look my best. It's my hubby's 25th also. We went to rival schools in our community so we know a lot of people from each others class, even though our paths didn't cross until after HS. I'm hoping to feel very confident on his arm at his reunion, who knows, maybe I will be his Trophy wife LOL!
  23. Still praying for you Sara as you must be recovering tonight. Hope you feel strong enough to post tomorrow. I can tell by your posts and your videos that you are a very strong lady so I'm sure you are doing great. Pam, I hope you are doing well also. I'm thankful you ladies are able to be there together. Hope to read your posts soon!
