WTH?.. I beg to differ .. Sheesh! It gets a lot better and most everyone here will agree. We aren't fakers and just pretending to be happy with our slevees... WE ARE HAPPY AND WE DON'T REGRET IT. Sure it's sometimes tough, but most of the time it isn't. Live for the positive and accentuate the good.. Don't pound others into the ground just because that's where you are. I am sorry you are having such a negative time, but to suggest to someone it NEVER gets better is.. Well, just not ok. IMHO ...anyway
I prayer things change for you.. Good luck

Your English is good. Welcome. Don't be scared. Just word of advice after surgery ans soon as they give you the OKAY to walk around... WALK WALK WALK all around the hospital halls. BELIEVE ME you will feel good once you start walking. Maybe 10 -15 minutes every other hour while your awake. When your discharged go to a mall or if its warm out walk for about 30-45... of course start slowly like 20 minutes and then increase it. It will help with your recuperation including the Gas. Good Luck and this is what we are ALL here for. SUPPORT. I find myslef in this site like 70% of my day lol.

Hey, y'all! Sleeved 3/25, so still on full liquids. I do get dizzy and tired easily, but otherwise, it's been a breeze. I'm down 13 pounds already and feel pretty much normal. I am going back to work (I teach 8th grade English) Tuesday.
I'm ready to get of full liquids already, but I understand the importance of them. No leaks!
Tomorrow is Easter mass and I really don't want to go. People in my little town talk a lot and I've already been the Hester a time or two. Oh well. Let them eat cake. (Lol)

I prepared for surgery for six months... I did the Atkin diet, stopped all liquid calories (soda, juice, coffee, etc.) Water Only... A gallon per day! I hit the gym twice a day... Went from 310 to 240.
I almost chickened out of surgery, I thought maybe I can do this on my own?!?!! But my body stalled at 240 and I wasn't losing any more. I've yo- yo'ed my weight in the past and didn't want to regain it.
By that time I had did all the post op steps (Meetings... Psych eval, etc) When I met my surgeon he said I was ready and he immediately scheduled me for surgery. I'm sooooo glad that I did it! Eventhough I lost weight in my own post-op... I know that I wouldn't have lost too much more. I did do a liquid diet for 2 week pre op to shrink my liver for surgery.
Regarding goal weight... I think 160 would be Awesome... My Dr says 140. I think 140 is too thin for me cause weight loss really shows on my face- Don't wanna look sick!!!
Plus I'm Puerto Rican- We have meat on our bones... Junk in the Trunk!!! Lol I Love Curves... Not bones!

I am almost 2 weeks post op. My friends 40th birthday was last week, so a few friends planned a luncheon for her at a local fancy restaurant. They talked me into going. I just ordered iced tea and sipped it (without a straw!). I felt very awkward and out of place. It seemed to make everyone else uncomfortable that I was not eating. Maybe I just felt uncomfortable being there. Weird. I figure that once I am back to solids, I can probably just order a plain piece of fish and nibble. But at this liquid stage, it was awkward. And of course everyone had advice for me ("try juicing some fruit!") that of course, was not what I needed - they don't have a CLUE as to what I am going through or about the reality of this surgery and the postop stages.

You are only two weeks out. It gets better and at some point you will be able to eat more. Besides social activity shouldn't be tied to food anyway. There's so many better ways to hang out with friends that sitting around chowing down. A good conversation with a good friend or a walk in the park or playing cards are great ways to hang out, but without food.

It would be a yes. For most of us, me included
This is our last hope at a relatively happy and healthy life.. It's not easy and not a quick fix. But it's an effective tool. A tool that needs to be entered into with a thoughtful mind and the proper information.. As not to have those regrets.

woooowww I would hate for that to happen to me. I would love to eat the foods I love...pero en moderacion. Growing up...my mother used to cook and made sure we were nice and full...imajinate ...latina al fin....so I cooked and ate a lot. Im wondering how long will it take for me to be able to eat again? Im trying to take it a day at a time..but ugh...its hardddd.
